Is there a way that I can see what level I am at with dynamic difficulty? It only pops up once in a blue moon.

Go to your gameplay settings under general and change dynamic difficulty to progress. You’ll get a lot more updates on where you stand throughout the game.

Since they kind of pushed or promoted the dynamic difficulty in the streams with a lot of new users, I don’t know why they can’t just give us the option to set it to Plus. They could have added a line below and had you choose what level you wanted to be at if you choose dynamic. If you select something else than that line is just locked. They lock options that are for zone hitting when you set it to directional.

First of all, I'd like to thank those of you who are stepping-up and helping to answer questions. We have a lot of folks new to the game this year so I appreciate all the support from those of you who are veterans of the series! I normally don't spend too much time here on OS on weekends - but I catch up during the week. A couple of items for discussion:

I'll be diving into my franchise this evening I believe. I actually spent 8-10 hours this weekend editing the default roster to be in-line with what I want to see progression-wise (it's not perfect, but it's reasonable). I don't have faith that SDS is going to make the rosters "better" any time soon and I have zero confidence in any of the 2021 season custom rosters that will eventually come out (as they will undoubtedly be even worse). Just to give an idea of what I did; in the default SDS roster, there are ~150 A potential players under a 70 OVR in the minors. My re-calibrated roster, I have 15 A potential players in the minors under a 75 overall. Yes, I WILL eventually post it to the vault once we can confirm that downloads are working again. I'm sure that once I dive into franchise, I'll need to do some "maintenance" potential edits for draftees, but the fact I saw a solid difference with the new roster sims without doing in-franchise edits gives me a ton of confidence in the approach. With that done, I feel a lot more comfortable diving into the mode.

I have updated the trade slider values in the OP based on Funkycorn's values. It was quite apparent that there were far too many trades with default sliders; and while I like to see things "shaken up", I think it opened-up the game to some of the more 'oddball' trades the game can produce at times.

I'm itching to start a franchise but I am waiting to use Funkycorn's rosters.

I am normally an every-pitch player. I played one franchise last year with it and wanted to quickly do another so I used quick counts. So now I got used to that and was able to play games faster. With a 2-year old, I don't have a lot of free time so I was could play 2 games during a nap instead of 1 and a half games.

I been struggling with offense and being early and swinging at bad pitches. Last night, I turned quick counts off. That made me more patient and wanting to build the pitch counts up. And I was able to get my pitch and swing at better pitches. And I missed the extra stats that it shows in the score bug.

Absolutely dying to get into a chise and add some thoughts to this thread.

However, this vault issue is a backbreaker for me Really hope they get that sorted out, as OOTB its a freakin mess roster wise.

With the many server issues in DD, I may just fire up a franchise and do a 15 year sim and start there to scratch my itch.

Me too. I want to at least start a franchise but will want to start over when we are able to download the rosters. But I want to do one with the Cubs but I might do a different team so I won't have to play the same games over again.

I've seriously pondered doing a 15-20 yr sim with GM contracts turned on and then somewhere in that range when I'm giving an option to select a new contract (thinking year 18), picking one of the 4 options and diving in from there.

I wish I knew how many seasons franchise mode goes.....

I was just thinking about asking you this the other day. Simming about 20 years out to get an entirely new roster. I'm tempted to see what this looks like.

It actually looks really good; a tremendous mix of differently skilled players at the MLB level.

The question is how many seasons we'd have beyond that mark.

Hey JoshC... love the settings. I had a question about trying to get a 1980's style of gameplay. More Stolen Bases, More guys batting over .300, HR Leaders in the low 40's, etc.

Is that achievable within roster sliders or is that a total ratings reworking for every player? Thanks

Wow getting a lot of props in here. I appreciate that. It's very unexpected.

Therefore I shall return it.

I must admit that I was lost on sliders and settings and a good approach to the game until I came across your sliders back in early 19 and have really tailored them to my approach.

I played 2 years of my future Indians franchise using your set up as a good starting point. It changed my appreciation for this game series to a whole new level.
