Hey JoshC, been reading your threads for years, and respect your opinions a lot. This year more than any other (since exp is disabled using slider adjustments) have you thought about just leaving them all at 5, and just saying "this is the way it is".

I just figured id throw that out there.. many of your adjustments are minor, just 1 tick here and there... arn't you always saying this is a fictional environment we're not trying to duplicate real life - something like that..

I think thats what I may try, and just see how "off" things end up feeling not adjusting anything. (personally I like getting exp in franchise as I dont play other modes much)

This is a really fair question and one I asked myself a few times (as I definitely enjoy grinding DD).

What it boiled-down to for me was a couple of things.

1. I want to be able to 'lock-down' Dynamic Difficulty on AS+. Change that slider and XP is gone.
2. I definitely prefer more injuries. So, same deal here.
3. To be blunt, the run scoring environment did not seem to have quite enough variety on default AS for my taste. I love a good old fashioned 1-0 game, but when that's the norm; I take issue with that.
4. I just cannot stand the pitch speeds on default.

Once I 'take the plunge' on any one of these things, I may as well go all-out.

Hey man I have a question. I haven’t purchased the game yet because I’m waiting on ridin rosters and giving you slider guys some time. I’ve always used Armor’s sliders and I saw he’s not going to be doing 21. Will I be in for a big culture shock if I use your set?

I’ve made a few changes to the OP that has really made the game fun for me. Everything else is all Josh and the great out of the box gameplay we already had.

1) I am terrible at identifying low pitches and am constantly swinging at pitches in the dirt. I am good at low and in and away and low, just low of the zone. I am using fish eye camera. Is there a better camera to help with this? I swing at like 95% of the pitches low out of the zone but do excellent at away/inside/high.

2) what is your approach on when you use contact/normal/power swings? Do you ever use the left stick to try and pull the ball or swing up or anything like that? If so, what is your approach?

Try Wide camera. It’s been an absolute life saver for me this year after years of using fish eye. Retro is nice also but it’s a little too straight on for me if that makes any sense.

A dev chimed in last year in the directional hitting guide thread and said that you're better off not influencing the swing and just hit the ball.

You cannot earn XP when using custom sliders. Honestly, I think that's a terrific move by SDS to avoid people cheesing to gain XP (especially since it is now tied to the innings programs for DD). If folks have issues with that, post feedback to SDS' website. And yes, I play a ton of offline DD and there's plenty to do this year for offline players; I have zero qualms with this move. (That's all I have to say about this topic)

To an extent I get the no XP for adjusting sliders. What kind of ticks me off though is that in order to keep the difficulty at AS+ you have to move the dynamic difficulty slider to 0. Even if that’s the only slider you change you get no XP.

If it doesn’t effect gameplay then it shouldn’t void earning XP.

Is there a way that I can see what level I am at with dynamic difficulty? It only pops up once in a blue moon.
