It was an 8-6 win with TB putting some pressure on us late. It was probably the best game I’ve ever played in MLBTS on any years version. It just felt like anything could happen at any moment. There was so much traffic on the base for both teams, every pitch truly mattered.
When I play with them for some reason Duvall crushes it for me. Very fun team to use. Marte and Dickerson are solid players

Also switched back to my normal camera (retro) for hitting and decided to ride-out AS+ (default) with 6/6 pitch speed. Played the opening day game vs Tampa last night; a 5-4 loss in the 11th. I'll be incredibly curious to see how things shake out with this team.

I doubt I play a ton for a bit with the Mass Effect remaster coming tomorrow; but I'm going to eventually dive into this one.

I’m also on 6/6 for pitch speed with allstar+ default and I find the game play is great. I get solid hits, bloopers, mammoth homers and wall scrapers.

Curious what your opening day roster and lineup looked like compared to mine Josh. Here’s mine.

        Rotation
        1. Sixto Sanchez
        2. Pablo Lopez
        3. Sandy Alcantara
        4. Trevor Rogers
        5. Jordan Holloway

        Bullpen
        LR - Elieser Hernandez
        LR - Ross Detweiler
        MR - Richard Bleier
        MR - John Curtiss
        MR - Yimi Garcia
        MR - Adam Cimber
        SU - Dylan Floro
        CP - Anthony Bass

        Opening Day Lineup
        1. Miguel Rojas (SS)
        2. Starling Marte (CF)
        3. Jesus Aguilar (1B)
        4. Brian Anderson (3B)
        5. Corey Dickerson (LF)
        6. Adam Duvall (RF)
        7. Jorge Alfaro (C)
        8. Jazz Chisholm (2B)
        9. Pitcher

        Bench
        Garret Cooper (1B/OF)
        Lewis Brinson (OF)
        Jon Berti (UTIL)
        Sandy Leon (C)
        Isan Diaz (MI)

Guys who almost made the opening day roster:
        Magneuris Sierra (OF)
        Chad Wallach (C/1B)
        José Devers (MI)
        Monte Harris (OF)
        J.J. Bleday (OF)
        Corey Bird (OF)
        Luis Madero (SP)
        Mike Morin (RP)
        Daniel Castano (SP)
        Nick Neidert (LR)

As you can see I had a lot of guy vying for that last OF bench spot. Ended up going with Lew Brinson.

I am going to jump on the AllStar Plus default as well. I like that I'm hitting now on Allstar and getting a good variety. But pitching is too easy for me on Allstar. I know I can be on a hot streak with pitching but I haven't given up a HR in 5 games. In the 8 games I played, I only gave up 3 HRS. I know that the HR could come in bunches but it just seems off. They aren't punishing the hangers. The Reds pitching staff isn't THAT good.

So I used the version of Ridin's roster I uploaded that muted potentials.

I didn't do anything too crazy with the roster. The two semi-unusual moves I made were to keep Detwiler as the number 5 and Elieser Hernandez as a long guy. None of the younger SPs stood out in ST to warrant slotting in the back-end of the pitching staff. On the bench, I sent Brinson down (he's just useless and as a C potential, just isn't worth dealing with).

I'm doing a couple of 'different' things with the lineup. I'm batting Jazz in the lead-off spot. His swing is borderline glitchy (it's been brought up by a couple of DD guys that he rakes...and he does). I'm dropping Marte down to the 3-hole vs righties (and down further vs lefties).

I typically go with 12-man pitching staffs, so I have lots of bench pieces. The one thing I feel we lack is a really solid lefty slugger off the bench (Cooper is my righty slugger off the bench). I've been considering a couple of possible 'storyline' trades to fill that gap.

Josh get Tommy LaSella from San Francisco. Straight clutch off the bench for my giants.

I like LaStella's bat - but I want to 'dumpster dive' even moreso than that. I've got a couple of potential ideas in my head.

None of those players are exciting to me in the least bit lol.

To each their own for sure, I just don’t see the draw lol

I got a question josh and I know you’re the person to ask. I read your write up on dynamic difficulty but I still have a question I need to be sure of.

I made it to all star + after a game and a half. After I got to all star plus, I set my dynamic slider at 0 to lock it in.

My question now is, after I do that, when I adjust sliders is it just adjusting them from all star plus as the base? It’s not like overriding dynamic difficulty once I start messing with the sliders is it? Might be a silly question but I’ve never done this before.

Not a silly question at all. AS+ will be your new base once you lock it in. From there, sliders can be used to fine-tune the experience....it works no different than if you were locked-in on AS or HOF.

Teams in the middle are WAY more fun. Flawed players like Duvall, Dickerson, Aguilar, you have to really work to maximize their usefulness. And honestly, all three of those guys are a blast to use in MLBTS, because they have pretty glitchy swings when you look beyond ratings (hot zones, hot zones, hot zones). Jazz Chisholm has another glitchy swing that will develop over time and building up the middle is such a good way to go. Factor in some solid young starting pitching and a not god-awful bullpen....and ya got something brewing.

This is a "sleeper" roster IMO. I think the Giants are another one. They're not flashy...but there's depth and there aren't horrific flaws.
