Re: JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 21 Sliders
I did NOTHING with lineups and rosters in that base roster. I prefer to let the CPU pull everyone onto the 40-man in ST and set their own lineups. So, yes, Chris Sale is in Boston's rotation and so on. That is how I prefer it; I let the AI put their "best players" on the field that are on the 40-man and roll with it. It immediately adds another "separation" from real life which is vital to enjoying the mode (for me).
And yes, I use single-team control with GM contracts turned on. I want the pressure to meet my goals; it can quickly change your approach to how you go about building your team.
I have never played with GM contracts turned on as I’ve always used my Yankees but I’m going to go the route of turning them on this year and I’m going to make my selection based upon teams that recently hired or currently have a vacancy as there general manager position based upon Wikipedia and those teams are:
1. Chicago Cubs
2. Los Angeles Angels
3. Miami Marlins
4. New York Mets
5. Philadelphia Phillies
6. Texas Rangers
That’s my list - what are your thoughts about this list as far as who would you select out of those 6? I value your opinion so I look forward to it. Looking forward to hearing about your Reds dynasty.Comment

Josh - DEFINITELY using your sliders with the Ridin Rosters that just dropped on Friday - I picked up an XBOX Series S and I’m excited to use MLB the Show on Next Gen

Re: JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 21 Sliders
Hmmm...well...Mattingly is my FAVORITE player of all time & Jeter being my 2nd...the pendulum is swinging heavily that way PLUS it would be an AMAZING thing to watch Mattingly win a World Series! Still can’t believe he’s not in the Hall of Fame...what a crime!Comment

Re: JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 21 Sliders
Its weird because I usually have pitch speeds a few notches above default. This year I’m on 5/5. I’m on HOF, but I couldn’t pull anything on 6/6.
I just turned 30 years old. There’s no way my reflexes are bad already lol.

Re: JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 21 Sliders
Morning Confession Time.
Confession 1: I've come to accept that I just suck at hitting on AS+ (on simulation). I thought it was pitch speed; but it's really my discipline and pitch recognition. It's one thing to feel uncomfortable vs a top pitcher; quite another to be flailing like a newb when facing Trevor Cahill. Even when I get a hit; it feels more like luck than any degree of skill. Buoyed by Douyoueven85's results on AS, I am going to try dropping back down to AS. I know this runs contrary to what I said yesterday (I should know better than opening my mouth, lol) but I hit my tipping point last night. Briefly played on AS and it worked better for me. Someone will ask, yes, I am going to drop both pitching and hitting to AS (I'm kinda curious how pitching will go on straight AS). If you're doing well on AS+, please stay there. I DO fundamentally believe that I'll be back on AS+ at some point; but I'm also not afraid to admit I'm currently overmatched and I'm not going to spend the entire cycle constantly tweaking camera/pitch speed settings.
Confession 2: This is the one that pains me to admit. I really hate the Reds' current roster (for franchise purposes). It's just the total opposite of how I'd build a team and I really don't want to do a franchise where I want turn over 3/4 of the roster right off-the-bat. Really considering starting over with someone else.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

I just hope their offense don’t get too weak being on AS.
I am thinking about starting with the Reds and going to trade for Story since the NL Central is winnable this year. What about the Marlins or the Pirates?Follow me on Twitch

Josh this game is definitely harder no doubt. Especially hitting. I love it though.
I need to get you on this Mariners train. Go check out the their roster. It’s really nice for a franchise.

I'd much prefer a middle-of-the-pack team where I have to make meaningful decisions in year 1.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Re: JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 21 Sliders
Tried that with KC...I HATE playing AL baseball. I'm not one of those "the DH rule should be abolished in real life" guys but I lose interest when playing with the rule on in-game. I know I can turn it off globally; but that bugs me too.
The Mariners are SO boring to me though. It's just a rebuild. Like, there aren't any decisions to be made other than waiting for prospects to mature. So it is slogging through two seasons of baseball before the storylines really begin to take off.
I'd much prefer a middle-of-the-pack team where I have to make meaningful decisions in year 1.
I can see that, dang it josh don’t talk me out of my franchise I’m only 3 games in lol [emoji23]
I’m looking at it from an aspect of I can try to compete now with Seager Paxton Giles or sell them.
I really wanted to do my Indians but I can’t get past the fact after one year IRL they won’t even be called the Indians, I’m weird I know, but for a franchise that bothers me for some reason
