Re: JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 21 Sliders
WAY too early to tell. But even in the relative handful of games I've played, I've seen a couple (I lost Sonny Gray on opening day for a few days). They CAN come in spurts...you may roll a month and be fine only to get hammered.
I played at 6 last year and there were plenty of injuries....only running at 7 this year since we're using a "real life" roster.
I asked this and played game two of my season. Chatwood was hit by a line drive and will miss two weeks! Haha

Re: JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 21 Sliders
Might be a dumb question. But I'm new to MLB the show and i have question about the sliders.
Like all way to left is (0) then count one each time you move it to the right till you get to the amount that the set is asking for? (5 or 6)
Or is default slider already set to (5)?
An explanation would be welcomed.Comment

Be 4 but yes default is 5Comment

Wow so if I read correctly, it’s default 5 for everything less pitch speed (preference), and injuries (7)? And trades I guess, but that’s not “game play”.
No injury adjustment for sim vs play?

You got it! There's absolutely no need for separate injury sliders.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Oh good golly yes. I'd almost say borderline too many tbh. VERY dependent on fielder quality....my Reds are....not good...Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Same! I’ve seen more errors in a VERY small sample size than I think I did in the entirety of 20 using A&S sliders.
Frustrating but I love it!

I get confused with this every year...
But if I use your roster Josh, and start in spring training, is it going to Jack everything up when I move to the regular season? Regarding the 40 man and such for AI teams..?
Or should I just start regular season as opposed to ST?
EDIT: Also do you do 30 team control? I assume not..

And yes, I use single-team control with GM contracts turned on. I want the pressure to meet my goals; it can quickly change your approach to how you go about building your team.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Re: JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 21 Sliders
I did NOTHING with lineups and rosters in that base roster. I prefer to let the CPU pull everyone onto the 40-man in ST and set their own lineups. So, yes, Chris Sale is in Boston's rotation and so on. That is how I prefer it; I let the AI put their "best players" on the field that are on the 40-man and roll with it. It immediately adds another "separation" from real life which is vital to enjoying the mode (for me).

Agreed. As you say, from pitch 1 it is no longer “reality”, so no reason to have rosters mirror real life concerning injuries and such. Thanks, as always, for the fantastic feedback.
Can’t wait to dive in to a Braves franchise!

I might just put pitch speed at default to lol. Having a really hard time pulling anything with it at seven.Comment
