What do yall suggest? i just want to pick a team and start my franchise already, tired of obsessing over sliders and rosters. thanks!

I can’t speak for these sliders or for josh but I really love what brinskie11 did with his rosters

I'm using cycloniac's roster. What's the deal with brinksies? Is it full re rates, pitch edits etc?

I know he did some ratings edits and I believe equip edits. I haven't done any sort of compare/contrast to see how different they are.

The biggest thing for me is that he did a sweeping reform of player potentials. They are SIGNIFICANTLY muted compared to the base rosters (or Ridin's).

The SDS or Ridin roster (I cannot speak to Cycloniac's) will basically push player overalls across all MLB teams into the mid-80s/90s by the 2nd or 3rd year of a franchise (and it's very uniform - usually only 1 or 2 teams will have more than one starter with a <80 OVR). Speaking for myself, I'm not a fan of that just conceptually. I prefer to see a better distribution of player ratings and team qualities within franchise; as I feel it is a more reasonable facsimile of real life.

You cannot avoid "ratings creep" within this game; but using a roster like Brinskie's can help improve the longevity of one's franchise.

Brinksies rosters are equipment edits and rerates. Cy's rosters are rerates and pitch edits. Both look like they fixed the potentials to help make the franchises work for a long time. I think they just have different rerate calculations. Both are very good rosters.

Question regarding Home run celebrations for MLBTS21...the “Spear” celebration is locked...but when I go to the community market, it’s like the only celebration I cannot buy with stubs...can’t even find it available to but. Anyone have a work around or know how I can unlock and buy the RH1 Spear?

Wound be a massive help, thank you!

If it isn't in the market; you either to have to complete some sort of mission/program in DD or (possibly) RTTS.

I have no idea what it might be though.

So Bacon tweeted that a 40-man version of his fictional roster should be released sometime this week.

I'm going to take a look and see how adaptable it would be for a long-term franchise (I personally do not like single season playthroughs). If I can make it work, I will be moving forward with a franchise and I can really begin digging into things.

If not, I'll either wait for a more complete version of his roster or just scrap any pretense of playing franchise this year (which I'm totally fine with tbh).

Please keep me posted my friend, I have not picked up 21 in a few weeks for the lack of a viable franchise. I just can't get into the "real" roster after experiencing the Bacon goodness last year...

Wouldn’t this create issues with drafted players down the road coming into your franchise?

I know CY has a formula or stuff that he does for drafted players in the next offseason you'll have to take a look at.

Not at all, drafted players have no issues making it to the big leagues. The cool part is that they can do so even before the a lot of the created guys in the base roster make it. The prospect flow is a lot more realistic and better represents the 90% attrition rate minor leaguers face.

So if I use Brinskie’s roster I wouldn’t need to edit draft classes?

OP updated with what I've been using. I'm enjoying it and am only posting it as an FYI. Explanations are provided in the OP as per usual. I'm going to be honest, I'm not really looking for "feedback" here. I used these in a couple of games with "real" rosters and they appear to be fine; but I can no longer abide using full real life rosters.

To that end, I uploaded a roster (username JoshC1977) last night that overlayed Bacon's 40-man roster on top of the Brinskie roster. So, basically, you have a full 93 man roster for every team (with a mix of real life players in the minors and in FAs). Your major league lineups will be 99% Bacon players in Year 1 - but some of the real life prospects will begin to slowly bubble-in....creating a unique storyline environment. Remember rosters are cross-platform, so it doesn't matter which system you are on.

                              Hey Josh,

Been using your sliders for the last 2-3 years with good success. I know pitch speed is personal preference, but I’ve always felt that your preferred sliders for pitch speed were a good match for my skills as well. I’ve noticed that over the course of your last few updates you’ve gone down from 7 to 5. I dropped mine to 6 with your May update and was starting to feel like maybe I needed to go back up to 7, so I was a little surprised to see 5 in your most recent update. I was wondering what led you to make that change? Thanks.
