    1. I have uploaded a version that heavily edits player potentials for Ridin's roster. It's mainly clean-up for the crap that SDS handed us; but we've got A potential players down to around 5-7% of the total roster.

    2. This is going to sound crazy to some; but I'm seriously looking at running straight default on AS+ aside from pitch speeds/injury (and obviously the dynamic difficulty slider). The more time I put into this game, the more I am appreciating how darn balanced this game is when you just leave it alone. I'm going to leave the OP alone for awhile but just kind of an FYI that I will be exploring that direction heavily.

    A couple of other things:

I love hearing that folks are having opposite experiences....you know what that means? Balance.

Just a random thought; but as a good house rule, I do not call pitches based on my catcher's signs. I genuinely feel like they are a little too good at anticipating exactly what the CPU will flail at. I find it to be far more immersive and that it leads to more 'surprises'. (Been doing this for a long time now...dating back a couple of years...but not sure if others realized that)

Anyways, I'll check-in on Monday; Sunday will be my 'off day' from the forums.
How's this potential working out for folks long-term? Anyone try simming 5-10 years into the future to see if it helps with teams not having all 80+ OVR players at every position? I imagine it would.

I ran sims before I posted. It worked fine.

Questions about the edited RidinRosters you mentioned. I always use RidinRosters and end up driving myself crazy restarting when they release an update. I’m trying to avoid that this year. How big a deal would you say your edits are? Worth restarting my franchise?

I can’t answer on Josh’s hard work but I would say if you plan on only playing a year or two with the franchise than it’s probably isn’t worth it. I believe you won’t see the full effects of Josh’s work until year 3 and beyond.

I usually shoot for as many seasons as possible, but end up around 3 or 4. Mainly because I eventually get bored with the games bare bones franchise mode.

So far I’ve played 16 games with my San Francisco giants on All star plus. We’re 14-2. My team is batting .277 and has an era of 3.35. My only gripe is it seem the cpu can never really make solid contact most of my games my starters are going 5 innings with only allowing 1 or 2 hits. I don’t want to have to go up to hall of fame

I would say it could be worth starting over. It will help in year 1 with SOME of the wonky CPU vs CPU trades (not all, but some) as there are far fewer high potential players.

But with less than 10 months left in this cycle before '22 likely launches, playing through the 650 games to get through 4 seasons is already pushing it. Entirely up to you.

Keep playing....16 games is barely a blip sample-size wise.

Ok. I’m not really far in my first season. 16 games because I waited on RidinRosters and sliders to purchase the game. The restarts I do every year are a little maddening. I may just roll with it. Any players I could edit myself to help or would that be too much trouble for you to provide.

                      Josh -

I have three questions in regards to budgeting & sponsorship when only controlling one team & GM contracts on: Do you add sponsorships to the one team that you are controlling or do you leave it alone? Also - I’ve never done GM contracts on as I’ve only controlled one team but as a 30 team control - how do the budgets play out globally for every team? Are there any discrepancies for teams like the Yankees & Dodgers that have big payrolls that are no longer able to afford their players? Thank you Josh in advance as I value your insight.

When I play, I use sponsorships for my team.

Budgets - I'll be honest, I don't even pay attention to what happens to the CPU. My focus in franchise is on my team, not "building a universe".

The only time I worry about what happens to the AI is when I am in trade negotiations with them; I examine a trade from both perspectives and ensure that the deal makes sense from both sides (if not, I adjust the deal or move on). I also will not be using the trade finder this year given how bad the logic is currently. I will manually scout through other teams to examine possible deals and offer those that make sense.

I do very little 'maintenance' as well. I will do passes through AI rosters in the off-season and will make position edits for AI teams if I feel they are 'stacked' at a lineup spot and aren't able to get a bat in the lineup.

I don't have a list; but I edited potentials of close to 15-20 players PER TEAM.

And I totally acknowledge the frustration that goes with re-starting. Here's my thought. Take 20-30 mins and run a 3-4 year sim with the Ridin rosters (everything under AI control) and see how it shakes out. If you're OK with things, you'll know if you want to stick with your existing chise. If you don't like what you see, you will have a more informed reason as to if you should re-start or not. We all have different 'pinch points' of things that bug us....what bugs me may not bug you.

Thanks for the response. I honestly think I’m just going to roll with it this year. In previous years I’ve restarted 4 or 5 times, often after being deep into the franchise. Stuff is going to bug me, but it’s not going to be perfect no matter what I do.
