Re: Armor & Sword’s MLB The Show 22 Classic/Directional/Clean Screen Simulation Slide

I created my profiles and started setting up the Franchise. I set CPU Roster Control to "Yes," and tried setting Injuries to Manual in the General - Advanced settings, but I can't use R1 to see players to injure.

Am I supposed to choose CPU Roster Control "No" when setting up the Franchise?

I foresaw this issue and asked about the need for a custom slider set for both human-played games and simulated games (like Cyclonic releases with his TrueSim Roster Project). -- I wonder if the ViatorLion roster needs something similar. I'm also curious what Armor and others suggest.

When cpu rostor control is on, there are a few things that get disabled. There should be a tool tip explaining the option.

I’m a stout 2-12 with my Detroit Tigers!! I did flip to meter pitching but went 4-4 control consistency, even upped to Legend. I’m still getting variation in the pitch location and nothing is a given even if it hit it right. I just have a greater comfort with the meter 🤷*♂️. Still can’t hit for squat but I am getting more patient, drawing more BBs so that’s giving me a shot to be competitive. I agree with an earlier post, waaaaaaay too many fouls balls!!! It’s crazy! Great job though, this has been the most fun I’ve had playing any video game in a very long time!!

It def needs something, this roster is too good and in depth to allow “vision” to derail it.

I certainly bumped up pitching difficulty to Legend for A&S’s sliders and that’s been pretty solid for me. Hitting has even been decent with these sliders but power seems low (due to worse timing with lowered vision) and K rate seems high, again due to low vision.

Need more time with them though.

I test these with the SDS rosters not any custom rosters. I can’t vouch for this slider set with any other rosters other than what I test it with. And this is why Ridin also does not touch ratings….because then you get unintended consequences being so bold making wholesale changes.

              Sorry folks.

No. You should not be turning on COU roster control.

My CPU profile has only these two settings set to manual:

                Lineups
                40 man Roster
                The rest is auto.

Assign the CPU profile to the other 29 teams.

I just make sure lineups stay good as well as their 40 man rosters.

                I keep it simple.

I have my cpu profile set to auto. I havent seen any issues. I do go through the rotation every day and just make sure that the cpu didnt put someone back in LRP. It takes less then 5 minutes. If you see a pitcher in LRP, just move him back to MRP.

By having lineups on manual you won’t run into this issue with the CPU putting someone back into the LRP slot.

Lineups on Manual is the key the entire reason I do 30 team control (also to reverse any potential off the wall wackadoo trades lol).

We already reversed a ridiculous trade when the Astros sent their young rising star A potential SS Pena to the A’s for Tony Kemp.

No offense to Tony Kemp who I actually like as a scrappy utility ball player......but the Astros never make that deal.....in any scenario LOL.

Armor so as of right now you are going with 12 pitchers. One of those pitchers will probably be a long relief pitcher. Does it matter what middle relief slot you stick him in. Also with 12 pitchers that means you have an extra fielder. I read somewhere that that extra fielder will not be recognized by the CPU and will not get any playing time. Is this correct

The best workaround for this that I’ve been using is giving each team a veteran 3rd catcher that is lower rated than the top 2 catchers on the roster. That way it won’t matter if he gets any ABs.

For the life of me I still don't understand why they took away the ability to go to the pending trade screen and approve or deny trades if we wanted. You could obviously leave them too and let the CPU decide. It just made denying trades so easy. That was one of the best parts of Franchise. You check it daily and just make sure it looks good and then move on. It took like 10 seconds. I know you can just trade the players back again now but it still annoys me they took away that option.

For some reason it stared causing a bug...I think it as on MLB 15 or 16 (don’t remember) where trades were not happening anymore. So they simply removed the “Trade Delay” feature. And I agree it was great.

Any tips for guys swinging and missing too much? Is it better to lower pitch speed or increase the timing window? Maybe I'm just our of practice but there's a ton of pitches I feel like I timed my swing perfect but it's a big ole whiff and the feedback is "very late".

Lower pitch speed before you mess with any hitting sliders.
