Small sample size but should I be concerned that I’m leading the league in home runs with the Mariners thru 12 games with 29? The next highest is 23 by the Phillies and Dodgers.

Maybe use a faster pitch speed?

I use pitch speed 3, because I could not catch up with fastballs even at pitch speed 4 when I was ready for them. However, there are guys that use speed 6, 7, and even higher.

I'm 42-52 with the Cubs, ranked 15th in power, but I'm actually 11th in homers.

Recently I had an 8 game losing streak, then a 5 game winning streak. I have been no hit once, and shut out a few times, but I am in the top 5 in runs scored.

I just came back down 3 to 0 to the Mets, hitting a homer in the bottom of the 8th to take the lead. We won 4 to 3.

Everything just feels right with these sliders, and I have had so many amazing moments, including highs and lows.

I just love theses sliders. They work great for me.

I have played several games with v2, and more with human contact at 6. Have been torn between 6 and 7. Have also played games with cpu contact at 6 and their solid hits at 4.

But I decided to just say screw it and start my Phillies franchise using v2 with pitch speeds at 7. And whatever happens, happens.

First inning Verlander gives up a 1-out single but pitches a scoreless inning. So far so good.

Bottom it the 1st Wheeler gives up a lead off double to Altuve, but gets out of the inning.

Then the top of the 2nd

        - Realmuto singles

        - Schwarber singles

        - Bohm singles - Realmuto scores

        - Didi homers

        - Herrera singles, advanced on a wild pitch

        - Segura singles, Herrera scores

Verlander gets pulled. Stanek enters (LRP 1 spot and 29 stamina

        - groundout

        - strikeout

        - fly out. (Ok, maybe Verlander just didn’t have it)

        Bottom of 2nd

        - ground out

        - strikeout

        - strikeout

top of 3rd - Stanek still pitching

        - Realmuto hit by pitch

        - Schwarber homers

        - Bohm singles

        - strikeout, runner picked off, fly out

bottom of 3rd strikeout, single, pop out, fly out

        Phillies 7 Astros 0

Top of 4 - Stanek STILL pitching

        - Segura singles

        - Hoskins walks

        - Harper homers

Just can’t do it. For some reason I can’t play with v2. I have played quite a few games with v2 and my offence is just too strong.

Going back to hitting with 1.75 - human contact at 6, cpu contact at 6, but keeping cpu solid hits at 3.

Next step will likely be lowering power to 4 for both human and cpu.

I’m with ya. My Tigers in first place just dominating in pitching 60+ games in. My first year using classic without the ball marker and vibration and hall of fame lol. Feel like my offense is too powerful as well. I have contact at 6/6. Lowering the pitcher stamina down to 5or6 seems to help with cpu offense. Feel like the higher stamina has the whole league pitching better. Idk. I liked version 1 the most

I’m trying v2 with these changes:

          Pitch speeds at 7
          Human/cpu contact at 6
          Human/cpu power at 4

          Hopefully this is MY answer!!!

Thank you . I do remember seeing that one. How’s the Royals season going? I am 23-18 in my Yanks chise and since I’m a Viking fan I decided to start a Twins franchise with these rosters.

Re: Armor & Sword’s MLB The Show 22 Classic/Directional/Clean Screen Simulation Slide

I just completed a brutal 20 game stretch in my DBacks franchise. Wow it was tough. Some notable series were home/away vs the Mets, a series vs LAD, and against a tough Marlins team (currently 21-10 in my franchise world).
Managed to go 7-13 over the stretch. Having to rotate guys in and out for fatigue, had to call up a few spot starters because my starters still didn't fully recover. It was a grind very early in the season.
                Some team stats.
                Offense
25 OVR in BA at .230
14 OVR in runs with 126
22 OVR in hits with 243
Tied 15 OVR in HR with 35
27 OVR in SB with 13
7 OVR in BB with 119
                25 OVR in K

                Pitching
                25 OVR in ERA 4.68
28 OVR in Hits allowed with 295
26 OVR in Runs allowed with 152
26 OVR in Ks with 190

As you can see an overall struggle all around! Very tough with only Ketel Marte/Zac Gallen in the 80s OVR.
I chose the DBacks for this reason though, a great team to "rebuild" as they have lots of DBack lifers that need to go (Peralta, Rojas, Ahmed) and Ketel probably can haul in some good talent. The NL West is also a tough division, so I more than likely will be battling for the wild card each year.

I play with the sliders exact to Armor, as i do year after year, I feel we have a very similar approach and style of play. Only thing i tweak is i use auto base running. Sometimes the CPU gets aggressive on tag ups/taking the next base/etc, so I want that same even playing field. I will note that using auto base running, it definitely takes into account arm strength/accuracy and will get aggressive for your user team. A few fly balls I wouldn't have thought to tag up on, auto base running did and it was successful. Sometimes I do get hosed as well though.

I started to twitch recently, so more can see the great gameplay these sliders provide!

Royals season is off to a good start actually. Surprisingly very good starting pitching two full turns thru the rotation. Bullpen is shaky. We are a true small ball team as well. Gotta scuffle for runs.

Will be back at it tomorrow after a week off being out of town.

Geez, reading about your franchises, and see some of your struggles and great seasons, really makes me jealous.

I have always used Armour’s exact sliders without any issues at all. Don’t think twice - plug and play.

I don’t know what’s “wrong” this year. I bought a ps5 just for this game and I’m so frustrated I’m almost ready to quit.

Every time I use v2 I simply clobber my opposition. I score early and often and the game is practically over by the 4th inning. 13 hits with at least 3 homers is very common. I’ve checked and checked and yes, I’m on HOF, simulation and experienced.

The last time I played my Yankees franchise I had hit 2 grand slams before the 3rd inning was over.

I know teams go on crazy winning streaks, but mine seems more than that. I honestly have not lost a game using v2.

My only thinking is maybe I’ve started over so many times that I’m simply too familiar with the teams I’m playing over and over again.

But then I decide to start over using v2 and sure enough I’m ahead 5-0 against Verlander in the top of the 2nd.

Im a 58 year old guy and certainly no expert. I check my settings over and over to make sure I’m not in veteran.

I really want to plug in v2 and just play, but it just seems too easy - both hitting and pitching.

Guess I need to keep tinkering and deal with slider-itis

                        Sorry for my rant.

Try going back to default on everything except pitch speed and injuries .. you sound a lot like me and I finally got to the point where I just defaulted pretty much everything and…. It worked. Pitching is still too easy for me, hitting feels fine. I play with 9/9 pitch speed and it’s a challenge but the feel and stats seem all inside the realm of possibility. Sometimes I get 3 hits, sometimes I get 9.

Try default except your pitch speed and injuries. See how you feel after a few games.

Thanks for the suggestion. It’s just that I like to lock in a slider set before I start my franchise and never think about sliders again. I enjoy reading about other people’s seasons and how their team is struggling and their teams records are very realistic. I just don’t know why I seem to be in a small majority of players that can’t make v2 “work”.

Maybe it’s because I play the same 2-3 series over (my OCD kicks in). So I think I either need to go all in on v2 and hope that my stats eventually even out or start with a v 1.75ish (v2 with human/cpu contact at 6, keep cpu solid hits at 3) and simply go with that

But then I read about all the testing Armour did to come up with v2 (and I do trust his judgment), and then read about the great franchises other players are having with using exact v2, and I think, “I want that too!”

Just frustrating. Yes, I know, it’s just a game, so quit over thinking things and just play.

                            Thanks again

I get it, I’ve been going through it as well. Still haven’t had a franchise go more than. 28 games this year.

Armor has a great set, for sure but he always says that it’s what works for him.. and he shares it. So what works for him, does not work for me. Skill level, outcomes, etc all are so very dependent on each person… currently I’m using default and will probably go up to Legend pitching, perhaps HoF+ if I can worn out dynamic difficulty.

Other than that, Cycloniac’s roster/ slider set is set to be released this week I think, may be worth checking out! Best of luck friend.

Just have to keep playing the same season to get over that “slideritis”. Also remember Armor also mentions these sliders are over a full season of play, not 20-40 games.
