I do not suggest you deviate from the CPU hitting settings. I got in over a 40 game sample size and it is growing daily.

They will hit you, they will score amd they will beat you.

Again using the exact OP settings:

    No ball marker
    No vibration
    Classic pitching
    Directional or timed hitting

Allow your teams to play for a month….at the minimum.

    Trust the settings.

Do not raise cpu solid hits…..no no no.

6/5/4 has been absolutely money for me (contact/power/solid hits)

With Human pitching consistency at 4.

Pitcher confidence also plays a big role too. So a pitcher might go on a hot streak when his confidence is high but get hit around if his confidence drops.

I missed the blurb about increasing the slider. I haven't had a chance to try a game out yet.

There are legacy issues with hard coded cpu bullpen management.

I have been using this setup but have advertised it yet because I need more sample size but so far it feels and looks like an improvement.

30 team control (gotta have this to do this)

Make sure then other 29 teams only carry 12 pitchers.

Do not have any on the LRP spot

Your two best SU guys….slot them in the #1 and #2 MRP slots.

Keep your closer in the CP spot.

So far it has worked a lot better than 13 pitchers and the CPU’s best SU guys in the SU slots.

      Give it a shot.

Took me a little time going they each team and setting it up….but so far so good!

Do you just put the 6th starter in the MRP slot or do you not carry a 6th starter? Do you put any one in the SU slot?

I would put the 6th starter in the 3rd or 4th MRP slot.

The two weakest relievers go in the SU slots.

Through 9 games, I've had 3 SPs have to come out early d/t injury. Montgomery 1 st start, Cole and Taillon 2nd starts. Luckily none have been more than a few days. I've got Gleyber on IL with a 1-2 week injury and Higashioka was out for a few days already.

The CPU has had even more players than me leave game early with injury.

I'm not sure how much longer I can justify having in game injury slider on 10.

Question, is this your real franchise or are you just playing for test purposes?

In my Angels test franchise I started on Friday, I had Syndegaard get hurt after 6 pitches in game 2 (only out a few days) and in game 3 Sandoval got hurt after 1 1/3 innings. The A's had Manaea get hurt in the 3rd inning of game 1. I know he got traded but I started the franchise a day before the latest live roster came out and don't really care much about rosters since it's a test.

Anyway, I'm now through 5 games. I haven't had any other injuries outside of those. The reason I ask if it's your real franchise is because if it's not, I say leave it at 10 and keep seeing what happens. It may just be a stretch of injuries early in the year and then you go however many without one. I'm no slider guru, but I'd say if anything, the injury slider takes the most time because you have to get a huge sample size to really tell if it's too much or too little. If the trend continues change it if you want. For me, even though those 3 SP injuries were kind of annoying I said screw it and am just leaving it. **** happens especially early on in a season. Your call though obviously.

This a legacy issue in terms of bullpen usage. It’s not horrible but I do see it....especially with the long reliever (which I have always moved to the MRP. But now since I moved both SU men to the first two MRP slots...they are being used better.

OS Member BSpring3 came up with this find in how to re-order the CPU teams bullpens.

It will take an initial time investment with 30 team control.....but I have seen better CPU bullpen logic and usage.

While not perfect, I have a method I use that helps with simmed and cpu management:

                      Closer-CP
                      SU-top RP
LRP1-2nd RP (make sure stamina is under 40)
LRP2-3rd RP (make sure stamina is under 40)
                      MRP1-4th RP
                      MRP2-5th RP
                      MRP3-6th RP
                      MRP4-my long reliever

Using this method, the cpu brings in the top RP in those one run and tie games and with the lower stamina generally pull them after 1-2 innings. I have seen the RP in those slots end the season with about 80 innings which may still high but not crazy.

And the long reliever generally pitches less games but gets more innings due to a higher stamina, generally in mop up roles and such.

I’m confused. Your example of your method on previous page shows 8 bullpen spots filled (and assuming 5 starters)

                            1 CP
                            1 SU
                            2 LRP

I go with 12 pitchers......I do not slot anyone in the LRP slot.

I give the CPU an extra position player.
