I get that but they are simply too easy for many people. Playing games and going 25-3 with the Pittsburgh Pirates is not going to even out over 162 lol. I’m glad they work for you and I’ve always appreciated the work Armor has done but everyone has to find their desired level of play.

Me, I want to lose with a crap team. I want to get blown up by the CPU. In 28 games with Pittsburgh I had a cumulative 2.2 team ERA. That’s not gonna work for me..

Keep having fun, I’m very glad that you’ve found something that keeps you locked in!

Do you play with vibration off? Just curious, that’s my worst enemy with pitching lol.

        Just my 2 cents.

I think Armor’s set will work for some, and default HOF across the board will work for others.

Honestly, I really like how both options play.

I do use vibration, do you? Perhaps not knowing when the optimal release is will make it more difficult?

The only thing I’m struggling with v2 is contact. I agree that there is probably more hit variety with human contact at 7. But it seems like I get too many hits too often. So I think I’m willing to give up a bit of variety for a bit more of a challenge and put contact at 6.

I don’t feel much of a challenge with cpu contact at 5. They might have an inning where they get a rally, but that seems to be it. So I’m going with cpu contact at 6 to give me a bit more of a challenge

Everything else about v2 is perfectly fine for me.

              I have it off.
To determine where optimal release would be, during warmups I’ll just throw breaking balls, and you’ll notice which has more accuracy vs more break. Fastballs are pretty easy, just know the further from optimal, the more the pitch will rise.

You really need to try cpu contact at 6 with human control and consistency at 4

Thanks for the recommendation. I’m currently trying cpu contact at 6 but with v2 settings. I’ll see how that goes.

I’ve actually reverted back to default HOF since the game was becoming a bit dull especially when pitching to the cpu. So far the only changes I’ve made are to pitch speeds and in game injuries.

Interesting, be interested to hear about your results

I’ve decided, after a few practice games to go with v2, with the exception of increasing cpu contact to 6 and pitch speeds to 7. I’ve relied and trusted on Armour for many, many years, and he has always made the game enjoyable for me with realistic results. But for now I just think the cpu needs a bit more offence so their contact will be at 6.

I understand that there will be games that I will win by lopsided scores - but that is also realistic given that I use the Phillies and the Yankees. I just hope that I see the variety of games and scores (and lose sometimes) that others are posting

                      Thanks and share your results

That’s exactly what I did - except now I’ve moved to legend pitching.

Well re-re-re-re-re-started my Phillies franchise tonight - but this time committing to play with v2 come hell or high water (except with pitch speeds at 7 and cpu contact at 6 - which I think is necessary to give cpu offence a bit more bite).

And I had the most enjoyable game I’ve played so far. My Phillies won 3-1 in a real nail-biter. I was up 3-0 after 5 and Wheeler was pitching a no hitter. Then Castro led off the bottom of the 6th with a homer. Astros certainly had their chances to tie the game but hit into double plays to end each of the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th innings. Certainly some tense moments!!

I have been reluctant to commit to human contact at 7 as I was seeing too many hits/ homers in the games when I used it. But I ended up with 8 hits (0 after the 5th) - including 2 doubles, a triple and 2 solo homers. Astros had 4 hits - 3 singles to go with their homer. I struck out 12 times so still plenty of swing and miss against a strong Astros pitching staff. So obviously there will be games when I get 10+ hits and others when I don’t. I’m still waiting for the cpu to explode offensively, but I’m sure it’s coming. Especially with cpu contact at 6. Can’t wait!!

I’m looking forward to game 2 tomorrow and doing what I should have done a few weeks ago - trust Armour’s sliders and just play!

Thanks again Armour - I won’t doubt you again!!

I did the same. I was going down the hole of slideritis, but I got out in time thankfully. Been having fun ever since I went back to Default HoF.

Living by Armor's motto of "just play the game" is the best way to go I think. The temptation to start a new franchise with a better team is still high but man, I just can't do it. Riley Greene is mashing right now. In 22 games he's batting .380 with 7 HR and 14 RBI including a walkoff against the Padres in the last game. The rest of the Tigers are still struggling (read: I suck at hitting).

I'm 39-65 which is miraculously still ahead of the Orioles and A's. Still loving the game, and there are storylines galore within my organization and the league as a whole. For example, the A's traded even more players away for prospects...the Guardians are pulling away for the division lead and have traded Cal Quantill for prospects while also trading for Taylor Rodgers. The Yankees are 4th in the AL East, and the Angels are almost a lock for the AL West. In the NL, things are a little more predictable, except that the Cubs are only 2 games behind the Brewers for 2nd place.

I just got the option to negotiate contract extensions...so now I guess it's time to sit down and really put 30 team control to use.

                                Grind on!
