Using OP for pitching with control at 4 and AS+ with tweaks for hitting, because I suck at hitting, and it’s been great. Last two games were polar opposites. The first game, SD @ NYM, the teams combined for 20 runs, 26 hits, 13 XBH, and 10 HR. The very next game, CLE @ SF, the teams combined for 3 runs, 10 hits, 2 XBH, and 0 HR.

Started messing around with it and turned vibration back on. With vibration on I noticed that if I release just as the vibration started I was getting good feedback every time. If I was just ahead of the vibration or a little after I would get Just Early or Just Late accordingly. With this being said, I always assumed from reading these forums that The vibration meant Max Effort.. Now I am not so sure. It seems that the vibration is tied into the timing. I turned vibration off and continued to pitch and noticed that if I released the button at the same point of the pitchers delivery every time, then the pitch would go where I intended. If I was a little off, so was the pitch. I have also played a few games with meter pitching and it felt like my pitcher did not tire out as quickly. Could have been a fluke, could be something to it... Not trying to throw off anything here, because I have used Armor's sliders for years. Sometimes all year and sometimes as a base set for my own. Just throwing out some information on something I noticed about the game
After enough frustration (though good frustration…lol) with classic constantly humming balls right over the middle, I decided.. why not.. let’s play the next game by throwing every pitch right at the vibration..

Completely changed classic pitching for me. Did I see perfect pitches every time? Hell no. But I seen enough to make me finally get pitches close to or where they should go most of the time. Still some wild throws, hangers, etc. as expected but definitely kept leaving too many balls right over the middle. Soon as I started just tapping again, all over the place. Still gave up 5 runs but that’s more my lack of execution on pitches lol. This game is gold.

Not bringing that up to start a debate, most of us used it long enough to know the way they like to use it, but just speaking my experience. Enjoy how you like to play!!

Slider set is playing really good Armor. You continue to knock MLB sliders out the park (and every slider set for any game lol)

As a baseball traditionalist I really don’t like this rule, but am leaning towards using it as that is what mlb is using.

For those of you who are, does the cpu always use the same strategy (ex. always bunt guy to 3rd, always use pinch runner, etc) or is it varied based on team, hitter, runner, home or away, etc.?
The main reason I turned off the extra inning runner in 21 was because the cpu never bunted him over and I would, and so I would win the extra inning games way too often. So I have it turned off.

Man oh man!!! I'm doing something different this year. Every so often I get the urge to take control of a team I normally wouldn't. I am and forever will be a huge Atlanta Braves fan, and always play as them in my franchise.

This year I have started a Pittsburgh Pirate chise, and going to work on getting them rebuilt into the club they were back in the mid 90's. I have my work cutout for me, but is going to be a blast to do.

I'm still going to keep my '21 Braves chise live, but after my first shelling from St. Louis last night, it has me fired up to get deep into this rebuild.

I am not using it either. I dont like the rule and never did. I left it off, because its my understanding MLB will go away from it after the 22 season. Even if they dont, I REFUSE to use it LOL.

What are everyone’s thoughts on training? I always leave it auto because I don’t believe it actually does anything.

Does it help progression or does it just give a boost like coaches do?

If coaches even actually do have an effect.🤷🏻*♂️

In todays addition of “Armor’s Straight From The Dev’s Mouth”

                    Training absolutely helps with progression.

You could leave it on auto but here is how I handle player training and development with the different position groups:

The most effective way to train your players is to set each position group at the beginning of each month and leave it on that particular training choice till the beginning of then following month. I got this valuable information straight from one of the developers from SDS years ago.

To keep it simple and organized I set all my starting pitchers to what I want for one month for example:

                    “Bullpen Session”

                    For my relievers :

                    "Simulated Game"

I set all my corner guys to “Weight Room”

My middle infielders to “Batting Cages”

                    Etc etc.

Then the following month we set all our position groups to a different training.

Basically you can don whatever you want but the key factor is set them for one month and let them train with that setting for an entire month. Then set them again. It’s easy and keeps you involved in their training.

As far as coach ratings….yes they affect your player ratings. +/- So hire good coaches who fit your teams style.

The Phillies got hot after that 3 game losing streak and have now won three in a row scoring 10 runs in each of those games.

I’m not a fan of the rule but am using it since the MLB is.

Small sample size, but I’ve played two extra innings games so far and haven’t seen any cheese or patterns from the CPU and was able to win both of those games.

Streaming some test games on twitch with the exact OP for pitching (HOF). Using All-Star+ for hitting because I just can’t get any good timing on HOF hitting. Below are all the changes made from the OP.

                              Hitting Difficulty - AS+
                              Hum Foul Freq - 4
                              CPU Strike Freq - 7
                              Fastball Pitch Speed - 6
                              Off-speed Pitch Speed - 6
Fielder Run Speed - 4 (Too slow in the gap on 3)

Is anyone drawing a lot of walks? This is really my only problem right now. Last 3 games combined I’ve had 20 walks. It’s a small sample size I know but it just seems that pitchers, no matter their rating, are constantly falling behind in counts. I’m on default HoF hitting/pitching sliders. I don’t really want to put CPU control at 6 bc I’m afraid they will just throw too many meatballs.
