Re: S & B’s MLB 2024 Simulation Sliders
Any good rosters you could recommend? I am not so interessted in Minors/Prospects, as I only play one full season. But maybe some more realistic ratings?
Or do you all start your Franchise with the Live Rosters?Comment

I think I am using a roster called MLB Franchise. Another one that looks good is one from XSporty. You just want to find one that is missing the international players.Follow me on Twitch

Re: S & B’s MLB 2024 Simulation Sliders
First two test games played in The Show 24. My first new The Show game since 19.
Not a big sample size but here are some stats from these two games using these sliders, me playing as the Red Sox for both of these games.
Game 1 Blue Jays @ Red Sox. Game result: 0-2
Red Sox pitchers first pitch strike: 74%, 35 pitches
Blue Jays pitchers first pitch strike: 67%, 30 pitches
Both teams swung and missed only two of these first pitches and Toronto got one first pitch hit.
Red Sox got 6 hits of which 3 were doubles and the rest were singles.
7 strikeouts for Red Sox batters.
No walks.
No errors.
Two injuries, one sliding to second base and other on defense for 2B player after diving to get the ball.
Starter: Bello 7.0 IP, 6 H, 7 SO
Blue Jays got 9 hits of which 3 were doubles and the rest were singles.
8 strikeouts for Blue Jays batters.
No walks.
No errors.
No injuries.
Starter: Gausman 6.0 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 5 SO
Game 2 Red Sox @ Mariners. Game result: 2-7
Red Sox pitchers first pitch strike: 58%, 38 pitches
Mariners pitchers first pitch strike: 71%, 34 pitches
Red Sox swung and missed 5 of these.
Mariners swung and missed missed 3 of these.
Red Sox got 4 hits of which 1 was HR, 1 double, and the rest were singles.
13 strikeouts for Red Sox batters.
3 walks.
2 errors.
No injuries.
Starter: Bello 4.2 IP, 4 R, 2 ER, 6 H, 4 SO
Mariners got 10 hits of which 3 were HR, 2 doubles and the rest were singles.
7 strikeouts for Blue Jays batters.
3 walks.
No errors.
One injury, runner hustling to first base.
Starter: Castillo 6.2 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 9 SO
Are others getting similar results? Do you see something thats completely wrong? Like I said, only 2 game sample size so can't say much but it felt like 1st pitch strikes were quite high but I was playing with aces. Also against Blue Jays through 7 innings the "Google cloud stat" thing said Blue Jays had made contact over 90% of the time with my pitches when swung, this sounds quite high?
Nothing felt cheesy playing against the CPU and the gameplay had variety for example, in fielding decisions/animations and ball flights. Some pros and cons but this is already too long post to talk about those, maybe later with bigger sample size. Eagerly waiting for proper rosters to start my franchise with.Comment

So after two games, those numbers don't look too far off. I don't really know if I trust the Google cloud stats. Because I know the hard-hit rate isn't accurate cause they count foul balls. In real life, it is only balls in play. If you go to pitch analyst you should be able to see the contact rate.
That is pretty decent hit variety. The user hitting is hard to test because it depends on how well you do reading pitches and everything. I look forward to hearing how these play out after more games.Follow me on Twitch

Re: S & B’s MLB 2024 Simulation Sliders
Has anyone noticed that hitting seems to be a little more difficult this year. Or maybe I just haven't gotten used to the game yet.Comment
