That is crazy. I went back in my franchise and looked back and the Cubs beat the Athletics 15-3 with 17 hits that same day.

Couldn't get the four game sweep in Milwaukee, then beating the Giants two straight. Just lost game three and missed the sweep. Lost 9-5 in a back and forth game.

We now sit 8-5 and tied with Cardinals (8-5). Cubs are basically identical at 9-7. Start a weekend series at home vs the Pirates next.

      Team stats:

      BA- .247 (18th)
      RS- 57 (t-15th)
      HR- 17 (t-18th)
      SB- 13 (5th)...Elly with 9 lol
BB- 20..of course dead last playing every pitch as usual lol
      Ks- 127 (23rd)

      ERA- 3.05 (5th)
      Two shutouts (2nd)
      RA- 42 (2nd)
      ER- 39 (3rd)
      HR allowed- 15 (t-6th)
BB allowed- 15 (1st)... typical playing every pitch. Lowered pitcher control to 4/4 lately may increase them a tad, but I'll probably always be first with this category.

      Ks- 106 (23rd)

Also, the last 6 games have been no wind (4 inside Milwaukee closed roof). Raised wind slider to 2 and 3 the last couple games. Only 3mph wind blowing in so not much.

Wait is your slider on 0 wind or in the few games you haven't had any wind?

        • Hit too few extra-base hits (most of my runs come from HR)

With the power hitters on my team (I play franchise with the Braves — Ozuna, Olson, Riley, etc.), I typically hunt for pitches middle-in and, using directional hitting, I’m prepared to pull the ball or depending on batter handedness.

So yeah, I love the sliders, but I always trend according to the above. If there's any advice (including changing my habits to not exploit this flaw with hitting in The Show), I'm open to it.

Would love to hear if anyone else runs into that weird self-imposed realism dilemma — where things start off too hot offensively and you catch yourself tanking at-bats just to keep the box score believable. Do I just need to trust that it'll all even out across a longer stretch?
You could raise pitch speed or change your hitting camera to mix it up. Are you using Hunan power at 4?

How’s bullpen logic been? The few games I’ve played it seems pretty solid but I didn’t know if we needed to manipulate the CPU’s bullpen like years past?

Long relievers in the 3rd MRP spot, etc.

I do not manipulate them like year's past. They do a lot better this year and they use SU2 like they are supposed to.

That’s what I figured and kinda what I’ve seen. Sounds good!

Who do you put in SU2? The second best reliever?

Yeah, I put my 2nd best non closer RP there for my team. For the cpu teams, they are pretty good about putting the best RP in those spots.

Four inside Milwaukee with roof closed and two or three games with slider at zero.

Since I've found a good balance between 2 or 3. I'm leaning more towards 2 because not all the time does that create wind. At three the max wind I've seen is 8mph (11mph at 5), usually 3-5mph. And it's 0-3mph with slider at 2. I do think the slider at 5 is too much with power at 4 or 5. I've got power at 5 and with wind slider at 3 the HR total is 15 over the last five games played. However the wind was blowing in from RF at least three of those games. Really up to you and what you're seeing, but I recommend wind at 2, power at 5. Wind at 3, power at 4 (have not tried, but should be good in theory).

One thing that I’m noticing this year much more than previous years is if you can get some good At bats against the CPU pitcher and lower his confidence he will start making a ton of mistakes. I know it’s been there before but for some reason it feels much more rewarding than year.

Maybe it's been tuned back to take longer to lower, and potentially raise confidence. It does feel more rewarding when you chase out a SP a bit more because it feels like that's even more rare now.

I knocked Joe Musgrove around in the 4th inning with 6 straight hits including 2 doubles and a home run. The inning could have kept going but I got thrown out at home trying to score from second on a single to end the inning

I apologize as this PROBABLY has been asked already but catching up - Why do the random WIND in the 5th inning? The starting pitchers don't have to deal with it?

Just curious - there are 38 pages to read LOL

Dowie came up with it a couple of years ago. It is completely optional. Sometimes I forget to do it. But it adds more of a dynamic wind. The game always just had the same mph the whole game. So this would pretty much be like it got windier or less windy during the game. You could also do it in any inning as well.

I put 7 runs on Luis Castillo after two homeruns, including a grand slam. He was gone with only 2.2ip. I eventually won the game 14-2. Their LRP was pretty awful tbh and he was roughed up as well. But that was payback after beating me 7-3 in game one.
