Not for many of us. Last year in the MLB, teams hit ~1.2 home runs per 9 innings. I average about 3 with the last iteration of the sliders (pre today, they just updated)

I've decided to start my franchise over for the second time lol. I played two games with the updated sliders and they were great! I lost game two on a walk-off from Andrew McCutchen, which was a beautiful thing to see. That franchise was too broken though, so...let's go again!

I’m going to do the same with the fictional rosters that were just added to the vault. Just need to settle on a team which could take another month lol

I'm using the Fidelity to Reality rosters, they're awesome! Although they're meant for long-term franchises and it seems like I'm not exactly ready for that yet!

I’ve been using them too to hold me over until a solid fictional roster came out. I may keep my current franchise and revisit it every once in a while

                  Re: S & B's MLB 2025 Simulation Sliders

Obviously this is totally anecdotal and zero sample size, so feel free to take it with a grain of salt—but in the very first game with Version 2's sliders, I hit a 430 ft HR with Ozzie Albies on the very first pitch of his at-bat. That marked 3 straight games with a home run for Albies who, since 2023 season generally hits a HR every 6 games.

I closed the game, dropped Power to 2 (so -2), and again—still no meaningful sample size—but I had a solid game and still managed to hit a couple homers.

My concern is that this might just be a The Show issue in general. Pimping 4+ HR's every single game is a huge immersion breaker for me.

And that works cause now you get the accurate game times since you started over.

That might work with home runs and keep the home runs in check. But just keep an eye on stuff like hard grounders and gappers. If you are still seeing gappers get to the wall, then it works great. But with lower power, they might be cut off more. Or the grounders aren't hard enough to get through the infield. Just a thing to keep an eye on. It is give and take with some of the sliders.

Your pitch speed settings might be some of the issue. Are you too comfortable with the pitch speeds? You might consider dropping timing down if you are getting too many perfect perfect hits as well. Just a couple of ideas to ponder.

Updates play quite good. Haven’t seen any effect with foils at 0 for either side yet but the beauty of this game is there’s things you won’t see for 10 games.

I have decided to actually make the change that we have been testing official. The CPU Control and Consistency is at 4 now. This will give you more balls and make the strike percentages more realistic numbers.

I played a game and a half with the new setup (aside from CPU consistency and control) and think it feels great, not seeing anything out of the ordinary so far.

Currently I'm using the Fidelity rosters but do plan to use Cy's TrueSim after they finish. Not because either is superior, just because I love the full equipment edits that the TrueSim team inputs.

I can't imagine they'll play too differently with the sliders but it's something I will keep an eye on and report on if need be so that we've got more data to work with on how sliders and ratings work hand in hand.

I was just about to ask you your thoughts about moving CPU control to 4. User at 4 has led to great results so far through 2 games. Pitch counts feel more in line with what we see in an actual game. Love it!
