Don't get me wrong, they'll still get you to 0-2 without swinging the bat a good amount, but I have more four pitch walks than I ever have no doubt. And the good thing is you're not going to see an increase of HBP or wild pitches either. They'll still occasionally get that 0-2 count and HBP just the same amount as before.

What got us to lower it was when we've been looking at pitch counts for SP when they get tired being pretty low. So Brian looked up their average pitch count per start over 2024 and career to edit their stamina attribute to match. In the game you can always count on reaching yellow stamina around 7-10 pitches lower than stamina rating, depending on stress pitches made etc.

Once we started getting SP to reach a normal pitch count between 85-95 it was quick to realize they're strike percentage was sky high. That made it too easy to keep their pitch counts low throughout the game unless you got some hits early, since walks were nearly out of the question. Since then I myself (not sure if Brian has yet) decided to edit all SP to 90 stamina, feeling that it's fair to say every SP on the MLB real life can easily go 80-100 pitches if they're rolling with not too many jams. So after editing there we wanted to get strike percentage lowered since all SP can now go 7-8ip if you're not getting to them at all or working counts up. That's created IMO a very realistic game of baseball on the field. I'm now forcing myself to take more strikes, knowing with lowered control and consistency they will throw balls as well more frequently.

I'm already 28 games into playing every pitch with the Reds. It's been a beautiful game of baseball to play over the last 10-12 games I've played using what now is version 2. Idk why I felt the need to explain all of that, but there you go! Lol

Good morning S and B... quick question in regards to version 2...do we need to edit all starting pitchers stamina to 90 or is that just optional in reference to the newest update to cpu pitcher control and consistency....thanks for your hard work with the sliders!

I'm going to hopefully start up my franchise within the next few days, and I will definitely let ya know how these guys are working out.

I have been skeptical of these exact players, it's funny you mention them, I don't seem to have the issues with Smith behind the plate though, but will definitely keep an eye out...

I am like you and want to see as much of the park as possible but I also want to be able to hit. What I've found that I like is start with the Strike Zone 3 camera and then zoom it in just enough so that the back of the batter's box is still visible. It gives you a good view of the park but still allows you to pick up on the different pitch types.

Try this view, wide. It's what I use so I get a good view of the stadium.

Its just camera Wide in the hitting cam options. No adjustments. Combined with the dynamic camera when the ball is in play, it's a thing of beauty .

Steve went through all starting pitchers at once. I just update the next SP stamina I face and I have been just raising stamina by 10 so they can get more pitches in the game. And then after the game I put it back down. Steve said that he did some testing and the pitchers still work good with stamina at 90 with stamina at 4 and hook at 7 when you sim. So it is up to you on how you want to do that.

Stamina at 5 simulating with hook at 7 works well for simulated games if you have all SP stamina at 90.

So I think I just figured out what this means! Tyler Stephenson started the season horribly. Batting well under .200 etc etc. Stuck with him and now he's my hottest hitter. I was paying attention to this very thing and when I got a double with him it said "Good" however the swing feedback bat clearly showed I was late. I am 99% confident this is how the game produces hot and cold hitters inside games played. The same game I forget who it was, but I was told I swung "Late" but clearly to me the ball was inside that green zone on the feedback screen.

I think the best thing to do is turn that off so we're not always complaining about it. However now that I'm positive that's what it does and how it works I think it's genius of the game developers. I just wish they explained stuff like this to us. Just how they get certain things to work. I find it pretty fascinating. Probably why I've always enjoyed being a slider nerd junky.

It's possible that's the view I'm using but I'll have to check when I get home.

I keep going back and forth between Braodcast and Dynamic for in Play. I like Broadcast view better but I feel like on Dynamic the players looked more accurately scaled to the field. The outfielders always feel just a touch too big in Broadcast.

Yeah, personal preference. Once I switched to dynamic camera a few years ago, I never went back.

With the updated CPU pitching sliders I just drew 7 walks in my most recent game. And none felt cheap. Had to force myself to layoff some borderline pitches that I was fortunate enough to get the calls.

This is my first game using the full new changes, I hadn't gotten to play with CPU control and consistency at 4 previously.

I've hit 3 homers, full on no doubters, in 2 innings against the Angels. I don't think it's a sliders thing, I think I'm just locked in against a mediocre pitcher (José Soriano), but felt worth bringing up since that's not something that had happened previously. Will monitor my homerun output over the next 10ish games

Yeah, it’s hard when you get an outlier like that right at the first game. Let us know if it calms down. The only concern with consistency at 4 is you might get more meatballs.
