Well sad to say that my time with this game is rapidly coming to an end. I am beyond frustrated with getting "locked in" to the check swing animation when I push the "A" button on my XSX, I have lost count on how many times I have attempted to swing and instead of actually swinging, it locks me into a check swing.

This has caused a LOT of outs on pitches that I clearly pushed the button on, especially when my eyes light up on that beautiful hanging curve and instead of allowing me to swing, the game decides to have me check swing, makes me want to throw my controller

I had this problem in one of the past games as well (can't remember which one) and it's not my controller, I have tried my other controller, and the firmware is up to date on both as well.

As always though, just wanted to give a shout out to Bryan for these great sliders and all those that gave great input as well

Is there a special setting in the setup for swings? Stupid question...are you sure you are on timing or directional hitting?

I have used directional for as long as I can remember...

I was thinking something in the setttings could have been accidentally switched. Like may you were using analog stride or something. Too bad we don't have video rentals anymore. You could have rented the MLB game and tested it.

I loosely use this and if nothing else if gives you a lot of variety in hits. This year it feels like my timing is off for each directional swing where it didn't feel that way last year. Not sure if that's just my observation or not.

I kind of thought it was just me a bit with something being off in my Franchise with Directional/Timing in general. Online I use Zone, but I was in such a funk online I started using Analog Stride with Zone. I started smashing the ball, most likely a fluke but I took it to my offline Franchise where I used Analog Stride with Directional and started smashing the ball again like last year.

Could be just a coincidence or something with having to time the pitch and the batters stride that brings out the best this year with Directional/Timing.

That has happened to me although I don't recall it happening lately. It seemed more in last years game,but maybe I've learned to live with it. I'll pay more attention going forward. I tried a wired controller,wireless and I could swear I pushed hard enough to swing. I'll check back.

Definitely interested in your findings...tried again last night, and while I was able to get through my Conquest game, the issue was definitely still there and like you mentioned I know I pushed hard enough to swing, especially when my "A" button works on every other game I play..

Just was gonna ask that myself, when I use buttons to swing I have the "A: button assigned to the back right paddle of my gamesir controller. I react much better with it that was than using the general A button.

I'm starting to think it might be due to a players attributes? Although I wouldn't have a clue which attribute would override a button press...so who knows..

What roster are you using? Is it certain players or all players?

In DD it's obviously different guys, but I do have some Dodgers on my team. when I mess around with just playing a quick game, I use the SDS most up to date roster.

I actually haven't kept any notes on which players it is, obviously it's all speculation but at this point I'm probably just reaching....lol

It's just incredibly frustrating when all my other games work perfectly fine, and even in this game when I take a swing between pitches it works fine....so I have no idea.

what about when you pitch? using your A button in pitching on meter pitching and see if it's working sweet?
