I play every game as well. I have tried playing with maybe play only 1 game a series but I can’t feel invested. So I play every game. I play about a game per night.Follow me on Twitch

Custom Game Entry is another option you can use. I find it less cheesy than quick count and when set between Low & Medium you’ll be invovled in most games (140 to 157 games). You’ll play most of the important plays and when returning to Simulation after each sequence, games are playing pretty fast but with that feeling you influenced the gameplay in some important situations.
When I reach mid august, I usually turn it off and play all pitches. Up to you to tune it as you wish.

How low do you guys let your players energy go before sitting them? The more I play, the more I notice the effects it has. I think I'm close to finding a "break point" between what I'm seeing and noting energy prior to the game.

I learned along time ago what a useful tool the DH is in this game. For example I play with Cleveland. David Fry is a third baseman that has the ability to play multiple positions. I play him at third, first and right field to allow Ramirez, Santana and Noel time off. Ramirez has and Santana have been able to play every single game this year. I also agree that if I need someone in the lineup because either my offense is struggling or I need a big win but a player’s energy is running low I can put them in the DH role to keep them in the lineup and bring their energy back up. This is especially helpful before a day off. Sometimes I’ll just play a player for seven innings and it’s enough to bring their energy up for a few games.

I very much do the same with Yelich and Chourio. Sometimes I'll throw Contreras in there if I'm facing a lefty. As mentioned, I notice the first drop in performance around that 2/3 energy. Slower reactions on D, a smaller timing window and generally less likely to get solid hit balls. Makes me wonder if I should be using a 2nd controller to manually do the CPU lineup before I load the game?

Did something get tweaked during the most recent patch? All of a sudden my last 3 games I can’t stop the CPU from hitting home runs.

Might just be a rough patch for me. The game prior to the patch I won 5-3 but then lost the next 3 giving up 10, 14, and 14 with 5 homers in the second game and 4 in the 3rd. First game was a couple of days ago so I don’t remember what happened there
