I think I'm just ready to accept that strikeouts this year are much lower than usual. I'm actually at June 17th in my Franchise so I figured I'd compare league wide strikeouts versus real life since most pitchers are around 15 starts or so. In my franchise there's only 3 pitchers with 90 or more K's. In the real league there are 16. Only one pitcher has 100+ and it's Chris Sale at exactly 100. There's currently 7 players with 100+ in the real league.

If you are using a live SDS roster, that is the norm that strikeouts are low across the league. I have tested this and did a live SDS roster and simmed a week. The average strikeouts per team per game was like 6.7. Which, in real life, they are averaging in the 8's. So that adds up across the league. I'm using Fidelity Rosters and the vision ratings are lower so strikeouts across the league are higher. So you have advantages and disadvantages of custom rosters.

I noticed it last year when I completed a season with the Dodgers using a live roster. Most of my hitters including Freeman were in the top 10 in strikeouts. That little stat display would always show up for them. Which I thought was odd cause I don't strikeout that much to lead the league with that many hitters.

Interesting. Let say I’m crazy enough to change all players Vision rating, what do you think would be the average decrease in vision to get more realistic numbers ? Something like -10 vision to all would be good enough or too much ?

Thinking about it…less pitchers in the game than batters….so probably faster giving all pitchers a +5 or +10 on their K9 ?

It is tough to say. I am not sure what their K/9 ratings are if they are too low or not. The best way to test it is to start a franchise with live roster and sim to today’s date. And then pick out any 5 pitchers and see what their K numbers are. Then restart that same franchise and raise those same pitchers K/9 rating by 10. Then sim again and see if there is any difference. You can repeat if you want more sample size. Just restart the franchise, edit the players and save a new file.

To test the vision, you can do the same thing and pick out a handful of good players. Sim to today’s date. See their strikeout numbers. Then restart the same franchise and lower their vision by 10 and sim again. If they are somewhat close to their real life strikeout numbers then everything should even out across the league with strikeout numbers.

Do you guys think there’s a difference in how your team plays at home vs. on the road? I feel like I hit much better and score more runs in home games.

                My thoughts are:

                1) depending on how many games you've played at both, could just be coincidental hot and cold streaks. I just had 3 games at home where I couldn't score more than 1-2 runs per game and the next game was a road game and I put up 13 runs. In my case it had nothing to do with the home/road.

                2) could be the home stadium is just more conducive to your hitting/seeing the ball. I played a series in Texas a couple weeks ago and I really had trouble seeing the ball all 3 games.

                3) what stadium are you playing in for home games? i think some are more likely to produce better offense.

I’m currently about to hit the all star break in a fictional Reds season, so I’m definitely playing in a good hitters park.

I wish it would be more dynamic with travel and road games. Like if you fly across country the player’s energy should drop a little more for the first game. Or a night day game after a night game should factor in.

it would be cool if the players had a small boost at home from the crowd. But then you don’t want it to start feeling too arcade type.

My Dodgers have lost 6 in a row and we are struggling on offense. The last 8 games we are hitting .087 with runners in scoring position.

                          This here.

We tested tons of seasons on the sim engine to fine tune K/9 and vision ratings so our roster would give you actual strikeout numbers.

Really drove us crazy seeing guys like Strider and Crochet rocking 7.6 K/9 on the live roster lol.

LA is calling for Roberts head in my franchise. We finally snapped the 6 game losing streak by beating the Brewers 4-3. But then we went to SF and we thought we were back on track with a 5 run first inning against Verlander. Added 2 runs in the 2nd to make it a 7-0 lead. Pitching fell apart with 3 run innings in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th with 3 3-run HR. We blew a 7-0 lead and lost 11-8.

the only thing saving Roberts job is our 9 game lead over the Giants. That is down from a season high 13 game lead about 2 weeks ago.

I know I’m struggling when I’m only getting runs by the home run. Not getting the rallies. Either hit a HR or hit a leadoff double and bring him around on a RBI grounder or Sac fly.

WOW. Definite slump. Good time for it though, just as long as you keep that division lead intact.

I'm in the opposite situation. 4 game win streak and feelin good. But for me its very early in 2026.

Well, I just got swept by KC. So, so much for the win streak.
