Yup, I guess I am. Sorry, but you can't be realistic and make a webgem worthy play every third play. Most pitchers can't do a jump 180 throw to first in real life .

You never know though, I never take anyone's opinion to heart. I play them for myself. Steve hated ASB last year and I loved it. *Shrug*

      I hear ya...

You could definitely make the argument that MVP's animations are a little overdone at times...However, I don't believe it really gives you an advantage at all...just for show.

One could also argue that ASB's animations are a little underdone though. Does that make it less realistic?

What I'm getting at is that people seem to critisize flashy animations as unrealistic, whereas they overlook primitive animations, as they are somehow more realistic for not doing anything at all.

For the record, I think both games are looking great...can't wait to try em...

jyd, just curious. What animations do you wish ASB had? All the animation seem really realistic to me. The double plays are spot on, dives, jumps etc. Now, MLB has taken it to the level level with some killer stuff. Did you see that behind the back double play video

I don't have a ps2, so I'm not even going to tease myself with MLB

About the animations...yes ASB has some great ones...I was referring I guess to the general "crouch" issue. Not a game killer by a longshot though. I was just bringing it up to show how everyone has something that can turn them off.

Everybody should just chill sit back relax and buy/rent the game(s) they're interested.

I'm probably getting MVP and ASB.

JRod - why do you discount "Fielder Cam" as nothing to get excited about yet MVP's timed batting (aka 'pure swing'), diving with the right stick instead of a button, or playing a major league game (engine) dressed in minor league uniform is some great stride?

I think of all this years innovations, asb's fielder cam looks the most promising and will do for fielding what MVP's pitching meter did for pitching (which I remember a lot of people dis'ing last year becaue it looks like Tiger Woods on the mound). Anyway, 1st person looks similarly big but it is an all or nothing approach (if like Football) and I just don't think the idea is mature enough to do it all in 1st person...but I could be wrong.

Also if you already have a solid game then tweaking can often times bring it to the next level. You don't have to throw in stuff you already have (front office, manager mode, cooperstown, minor leagues or something equally 'innovative') every year if what you have is already solid - just looks what tweaking and polish did for ESPN Football.

Anyway, it is this competition that builds stronger games from all developers so Im not complaining we have five baseball games. I could care less what game everyone chooses to buy. I just wish more people would be more open minded about this kind of stuff because in the long run those games that survive might not neccisarily do so because they are the 'best' games out there (see High Heat).

asianflow has the right idea but unfortunatly minds will be made up and preorders placed before the games even hit blockbuster to try.
