Is this KZone or classic? They had bunting in KZone, but none in classic.

Well, I'm not seeing it in the Classic mode for the CPU. Runner on first, one out, pitcher up, no bunt. Doesn't necessarily mean it won't happen, but I'm trying to set up situations and so far, no dice.

True Baseball. What the heck is that. I saw it in the last game, but never tried it.

True Baseball is the preset that eliminates Slamzone and Showboat catches in 2k5. As far as I know, the pitching and batting interfaces can be changed independently of the Pure Baseball/Videogame/Custom settings.

Cool, let me take a look. I tried to look for a ROSTER save from the last edition and don't see where it recognizes it, however, it does recognize any custom music you had in your hard drive.

The first pitch I threw on the true baseball settings against San Diego the leadoff man tried to bunt.

I did not know that turning the strikezone off in the game was a problem with the last one. I could have eased some minds early because that was the first thing I did when I set up the game.

I'm going to get this version as well....I enjoyed the last edition like some of you guys here...But I want to know if the player fatigue is fixed, that is the only issue I had a problem with 2k5. MLB 2K4 had this feature and it was fun. I remember I had to bench my position players from time to time that were tired. I hope this is fixed....thanks Ernesto

I cannot get it to recognize any roster saves. It also made me start a new profile.

Yep....player fatigue is the make-or-break for me on this too. In past years it wasn't an issue, but MVP pretty much nailed it last year - one of the many reasons MVP was leaps and bounds ahead (and I'm no EA fanboy, believe me ).

I'm also interested in the confidence working correctly, because it's a good idea.

Re: MLB 2K5 WS Edition Impressions Thread

                      Okay, confused here.

True baseball, or True Aim, or Pure Baseball?

I went to Pure Baseball and set up a lead off single and no bunt.

I had been playing on True Aim and got nothing, but will stick with it.

Can you confirm which on it is?

Regarding the franchise fatigue. I never played franchise, just season. Would I be able to see fatigue if I simmed games?

True Aim is the non-cursored batting style (just like hitting the button & swinging).. then there is cursored batting.... Pure Baseball essentially is the "non-arcadic" setting (showboat catches, etc).. so far on True Baseball/True Aim setting i have seen two bunts in the two games i played..

I just hit a dribbler down third and the pitcher didn't get the ball. The third baseman stepped up to get the ball and throw to first. I ended up being safe but he made the play and not the pitcher. I believe this was an issue some of you have posted earlier.

In old 2k5, fatigue would work while simulating games (I believe it's called "health"). The problem came when you tried to play the games - everyone including pitchers would fully recover after the game.

That's why I said there's no rush - because you'll actually have to play a game to find out if it's working.

I was a High Heat guy myself, and prior to MVP '05 regarded HH04 as the best ever. The PC version that is - because it was almost infinitely tweakable through its tune file and I got some incredibly realistic games out of it. What makes MVP so good to me is that I didn't have to do much tweaking at all and still had outstanding games.

But I'm getting off topic here...2k5 WSE CAN be as good, if the bugs are fixed. I had some great games on 2k5, but it's just marred by a few bugs that kill the franchise aspect (and the passed ball thing, although changing the error slider effectively eliminated it).

I appreciate all those giving early impressions and answering questions.
