Re: The "positive little things" thread
Maybe I am just imagining it, but I started a Royals GM Career hoping to build them up... Anyway, playing the first game at home vs. the Tigers it seems that as the game went on the shadows krept in. Completely cover the pitchers mound now in the top of the 8th inning.“Nobody in the history of the game tried what I just tried. We’re talking about on the biggest stage, in New York, playing out of position and asked to hit fourth for the New York Yankees. I mean, that’s never been done.” - Sheffield on SheffieldComment

When you play as the runner on the basepaths, if you start chugging along the bases/get caught in a pickle, you can here your heartbeat race faster and fasterLast edited by Thrasha; 04-09-2006, 09:15 PM.“Nobody in the history of the game tried what I just tried. Re: The "positive little things" thread
Originally posted by JisticI'm also doing a Cubs franchise. And am on the last game of the St. Louis series. I beaned Edmunds by accident. La RUssa got pissed, Miller was talking about how that pisses him off when his players get hit.
Anyway Jaque Jones hit a HR earlier. His next at bat he got beaned first pitch, Marquis was on the mound. Got tossed, warnings to both benches, and again La Russa went nuts. It was great.
The whole game was full of managers bitching, lots of tension, we eeked it out 7-6 after Dempster blew the save. No, I didn't draft Grossman on my fantasy team, what do you think I am an idiot?

Re: The "positive little things" thread
can you still control a runner on the basepaths instead of the batter?Comment

Re: The "positive little things" thread
Controlling the baserunner reminds me of that god awful first person baseball they had in this game a couple years ago... ugh
But playing with the baserunner is actually alot of fun, so I'm not sure why it does remind me of that...
Anyway, I was just about no hit by Jeremy Bonderman, and in the 8th inning Jon Miller started counting the outs. Luckily I got a hit with my leadoff guy in the 9th inning.“Nobody in the history of the game tried what I just tried. Re: The "positive little things" thread
I guess I'll get a few positive things out there
-Baserunners sidestepping the tag
-Running into the wall and falling down when running down a catch
-Hitting a batter, the next inning the opposite pitcher hits your guy
-Joe and Jon messing up while talking
-the K cam(and being able to see the break of your pitch)
-Pitchers being rattled in high pressure situationsComment

Some more things:
-The League News section covers a ton of things, I like it when it says when teams complete sweeps, Jim Edmonds getting his 1000 RBI, pitcher's throwing shut-outs, and seeing when other teams resign their guys. Not sure how many years I'll be able to get through in GM Mode, but apparently guys will get inducted into the HOF (I think MVP 2005 had this too), that's cool, not sure how it works out though.
-Pujols & Edmonds hit HRs in Wrigley and the fans chanted "Throw it back!". Hasn't happened yet, but I remember they would do that in High Heat, that was awesome.
-The stat overlays during at-bats is awesome, I love being able to see all those stats without having to pause the game, nice.
-And like someone else said: In Game Saves!!!!Comment
