I like how it isn't a guarantee that your fielder will make the play when you're prompted to hit the R-stick to scale the wall. I've had Aaron Rowand make and miss a few off these types of catches. This really keeps the game fresh.Comment

Re: Little Things Thread.....
I love the player collisions in the game. In a game last night (first play of the game) I fielded the ball with my first baseman and decided to run the ball to the bag. Problem is my pitcher beat me to it and ran him over. Lost my pitcher on that play with a dislocated finger. I could see him walking off the field holding his hand with a not so nice look on his face like he wanted to take a bat to the first baseman :y4:XBL Gamertag: hoos4974

Re: Little Things Thread.....
Weird thing is, my first two games ever I had the same home umpire. His last name starts with an S and he wears the number 64.
The guy doesn't give you any low and away calls. Nothing. Great thing is, on the second game, he continued with his non-calls on low and away pitches.
So now I play with another umpire on my third game (he wears number 19) and I'm getting the calls I wasn't getting with that first ump. But, his strike zone was more stern. He called the borderline ones, but they needed to be right on the border. A bit off and he actually turns his head away after the pitch almost to say, "Nah, I'm not calling that.""It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Arod has 4 batting gloves. 2 to bat with and 2 when on base. Lots of guys do this because their is usually pine tar on their batting gloves and if they wear them on the bases, the dirt will stick to them like glue.My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

This is definitely a nice feature. I am really looking forward to remembering the umps and working them, much like Brinkman said.

Re: Little Things Thread.....
I got the Don Denkinger treatment while playing as the Cards. A bad throw to first on a grounder definitely pulled the first baseman off the bag but the ump called me out anyway. I wanted to send La Russa out to go medieval on his *** but couldn't figure out how to do it.Last edited by Seahawk76; 02-28-2007, 01:21 PM.Comment

I wouldn't have thought this game goes into THAT much detail.
Something to look out for. This really adds to the element of pitching.
BTW....who is that in your avatar??People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Re: Little Things Thread.....
dont know if this was in last years, (didn't play it because it was so terrible, worst game i ever bought)
but i noticed if you take too long to pitch, the batter will call for time and step out of the box.Comment

Re: Little Things Thread.....
Yeah, that was in last year's game as well. Still a nice touch though.Comment

Re: Little Things Thread.....
I'll chime in with a good one..was a hard hit ball to right Casey Blake fielded it and tried to gun the runner down going to third but was a late of throw- shoulda threw home...the runner made a hard turn at third and decided to go back and my third baseman taged him out coming back to the bag...super cool.
How in the hell do you know who's umpin?Comment
