Re: IGN MEDIA THREAD!
If it's 2k7 with improved gameplay, I'm VERY happy.
How people get all worked up after watching some videos I'll never understand. If you read the hands-on there's still a month of development time.
Videos get me excited about this year's game. The only thing that has me a bit worried is the choppiness, I really hope it's the videos or it's getting fixed before release day.Comment

People are getting "worked up", they're giving their honest opinions. I don't think the game has a month of dev time left either.Comment

Re: IGN MEDIA THREAD!
Not impressed at all John Miller and Joe Morgan still repeated the same lines from the last couple of years. Player jerseys flaping around like there is fan in front of them. I will try out the demo when that drops. My money is going to MLB 08 The Show.MLB: Chicago Cubs

Re: IGN MEDIA THREAD!
Watched them again and noticed another thing...on the "diving play" video when the first baseman throws to third as the runner on 2nd tries to advance, Francis the pitcher covers...that should be the SS in that situation as you will NEVER see the pitcher covering 3B in that spot. It's little things like this that I hoped were fixed."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. Re: IGN MEDIA THREAD!
After watching the videos (finally) I am a bit dissapointed.......they seem to have done NOTHING in terms of presentation or little details as we all figured they most certaintly would. The gameplay also to tell you the truth doesn't look like it has really turned around from where it was. It will feel new for about 10 games and then we will realize that it is 2k7 with a couple new mechanics. Of course it IS only about 4 minutes worth of footage but things that would take any time to put in there aren't there as we thought they would be which dissapoints me so it doesn't matter how much footage we see. I pre ordered the game today and it's staying that way no matter what happens at the very least the game appears to have made some strides. But some of the things that we expected to see that aren't there are just glaring things such as homerun celebration. It's almost like the joke is on us and the team is sitting there laughing. I really REALLY expected to see something there for that or at least some presentational elements we have been asking for for a year now.Last edited by bowlerguy92; 01-25-2008, 10:34 PM.Comment

Re: IGN MEDIA THREAD!
I think they're wrong. I mentioned it above, but the game releases on 3/4. They can't develop up until that time, get it tested internally and then send it to MS and Sony to pass their testing/certification process and then stamp out a ton of DVD's and ship them out.
If I were a betting man I'd bet that development is done at least 1 month before the release date.Comment

Re: IGN MEDIA THREAD!
Read the hands on article, last paragraph. This game was great after the patch last year imo.. don't see why it won't be again... and I'm not judging something after 4 videos from IGN.Comment

If they did have a choppiness issue and it didn't get fixed, I'll gripe then.Comment

Re: IGN MEDIA THREAD!
I think really the only thing that is disappointing is the presentation. Main score overlay, walk-up cameras, fielding camera & home run camera (and somewhat disappointed in the batting camera, though more impressed than last year), Jon & Joe, crowd, bat sound, etc.
Visually, the colors seem to be much more right on than the first pictures showed, and they did promise 60 FPS, so I think there's no worry there. We also saw proper hit variety, and this new pitching thing looks pretty wicked. But on the presentation level, I think they downgraded a bit. That just may be me, though.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
