Re: IGN MEDIA THREAD!
Well were people bashing The Show w/ the first 4 vids they posted? If you're showing the game for the first time you would want it to be well represented and so far I don't think they've done that yet.
W/ that said I own a 360 so I will be getting this game and holding out optimism. As long as franchise is better...trades are toned down...staff signings/firings are toned down, and there are other additions other than the minors I will be happy.
I was just expecting to see something better than I did, and hopefully I won't have to go into slider hell trying to get this game to play to my liking.
.. but I get your point.. and I'm with you.. I have a 360 and this game will be in my hands on release day.....Comment

Re: IGN MEDIA THREAD!
One thing to keep in mind is that it wasn't 2K putting up the videos. It was IGN. 2K would certainly have put a LOT more care into the situations and videos they picked. IGN just took video of two of its employees screwing around (like when the pitcher was swinging the cursor all over the place and the batter kept showing bunt). Honestly, IGN, why show two VISITING players hitting home runs? The guys also clearly sucked at pitching and probably had the settings on easy.
I wish 2K would put up some videos, because I'm sure they'd take more care to show some more interesting situations.Of course, if Dawson gets hot, and
Sutcliffe comes through, and....
Pa, see what you did to me?

Good points, but you said.....The Show word....heads are gonna explode and blood shoot out of peoples eyes.
I think the first impression comments are in line. Throwing the game out because of these first vids is a bit much, but people were looking for the "wow factor" and it's just not there.
Like Kushgamer said, play the demo, and maybe other vids will give different impressions, but nothing wrong with first impression comments. Hope the game shines. Hope things look better the second time around with the vids.Comment

As a baseball fan it was almost disrespectful, since they knew how ravenous we were waiting for them. And it was like they were just screwing off on purpose like a 10 year old.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: IGN MEDIA THREAD!
1) It's IGN putting together these videos - not 2K games and 2)The first videos from the Show were all highlight reels - not realtime gameplay. No disrespect to that game (I personally love it) but visually that game had a long way to go last year visually so the improvements this year seem like a HUGE leap. 2K7 had the same leap from the previous year (and at this time last year we were mostly gag about that).

Re: IGN MEDIA THREAD!
The camera on homeruns is disappointing; hoping there are more to choose from.
The jerseys flapping around is just ridiculous.
The framerate is terrible.
Still interested, but it looks, based on first impressions, as if 2K8 will be a distant second(last) to The Show.
It seems like the 2K guys don't listen like The Show devs.
Brinkman talks a great game, but the vids certainly deflated some of my excitement for the game.Comment

Re: IGN MEDIA THREAD!
Remember how the first screens of 2k7 were HORRIBLE!? Remember the one of Pujols with his mouth open, remember this is a preview disk, not necessarily the full thing.Get in the zone: the izzone.Comment

Re: IGN MEDIA THREAD!
Thats a great thing to say and all but what needs to be fixed couldn't be done in the month time difference that the preview disk and the development cycle probably have. What you are seeing right now should be pretty much what you get in the final game. Not to mention they wouldn't ship a "preview disk" completely lacking key fixes and additions to game sites when they know they will be on the final disk.Last edited by bowlerguy92; 01-25-2008, 11:33 PM.Comment
