Hmmmm. I was expecting to get my socks knocked off, but, I dunno. Have to agree baa7, geez, please tell me it's going to be better on release day. It's still pretty, stadiums nice and colorful, etc., but geez....

I'll give it a rent like last year, and we'll see. I didn't buy a baseball game last year, so I'm hoping this game or The Show for the PS2 is worth the money, because I'm now officially tired of The Show 06

Those videos were a little depressing. I wanted to see a take out slide in action...Or someone who knew how to play.

On that Holliday homer it seemed like the only ones who knew it was out were him, the catcher, and the pitcher. You can still see the cut-off man running out to shallow left center w/ his hands up. I still see players standing around and stuff too.

In Boston Cano's jersey is flapping all about. The cloth physics look as same as they did last yr. The IGN dude said it was "wonky"...how bout still screwed up looking.

It's funny that we get told HR's are down in 2K8, but in 4 vids we see two homers...not to say that the guys hitting them aren't capable, but...

I like what I saw. I Just hope it plays a good game of baseball. Graphics come after gameplay to me. It was ign and the video's just showed homeruns, a groundout and a strikeout.

like I said from those vids, this game is a no buy for me so far, I didn't enjoy those vids, like I said the game looks very dull.

I have always supported this series going way back to the time when it was World Series Baseball on the Genesis, but I think my time has come to just not bother this year. It just bothers me that they continue to change gameplay mechanics, ie the pitching, instead of refining what they had. I like Joe Morgan, but the commentary, I just don't know.

Case in point.....the jerseys still flap like there is a 100mph winds coming through.

I can see the vids too. I don't know, I didn't like last year's game, and so far after watching the vids it doesnt seem right. I am sure it is on the easy level, but pitching still looks to easy. The blowing jersey thing is a joke. I can't believe someone over there approves of that.

I guess I need to see more videos, like some CPU vs CPU vids on a high level to see if pitching is really improved as far as realism.

Well, I'm not surprised they show HRs in promo videos. It wouldn't make sense to show a base on balls or something. HRs are exciting, so that's what they show. I agree on the other issues, though, especially the cloth physics being weird like last year.

Next-gen sports games continue to disappoint, it seems...

Well they want to show some exciting plays instead of a line drive out or double base hit. Something to get the average fan excited.

World Series Baseball on the Genesis. LOVED IT! Yes, I've had every addition too.

I was going to pick up both games on day one, but I'm just going to hold off until you guys tell me the gameplay has in fact improved. I'm bummed about this so far. Maybe it will get better as more stuff is released.

I think we'll really get to the bottom of the 60fps question when theres a solid HD video on gametrailers, I dont think IGN does much justice here, plus we all know theres been hundreds of us watching it at the same time not sure if that matters?? right now its a little disapointing, but im waiting for a Gametrailers video
