I havent played a 2K title game so Im not sure of all the features. Was there a F5 Tornando heading to Fenway on the doppler? Like I said, IMO the player models to me sucked, I was really shocked from what I saw this year.ANd gameplay looks choppy.Hope I am wrong this year.

how many times are u going to post this?? Ive read it like 5 times in 5 different pages. U seemed very confused. First u start a thread saying ur not impressed with the show this year and now its 2k. Make up ur mind kid. By the way if u read what people have been posting here u will see that its been said to watch the videos on low RES and h will see that its smooth with no choppyness.

I think the Show and this game look very sweet. It will be a tough for me, but I am only going with one game this year. Every time I go with 2 games. I start wanting what the other game has and vice versa. So I will rent both games and see what game grabs me more. Any ways I like the way the players moved. Should be a great game and it does look fun to play. Also, the reviewer said he like it, so that is cool. Plus I thought you all were about gameplay first?

I guess I'm trying to act like crowd control.

        Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, I gotcha.

Yep, the fanboys need it as much as the anti-fanboys (new word.)

The thread has actually disintegrated into who is going to take over the thread. Constructive stuff is out the window.

Actually, somewhere in this thread or one of the other ones, Kushgamer mentions, or at least suggests, that all the IGN videos were multiplayer and not single. So perhaps that is the reason for it.

BTW forgive me for I will start complaining again.

I never really thought of it at the time, but now that I think of it... that's pretty much exactly the opposite of how Troy Tulowitzki bats. In real life, he is closed (as opposed to open), rather low-bent (as opposed to high), and his bat is much flatter as well (as opposed to upright). That said, this must be a generic stance. But now it begs the question as to how many generic stances they have set properly, or how many signature stances they even have.

Strangely enough, however, they do have Mark Reynolds' stance down pretty well. Here's to hoping they really do have a lot.

So many gamers around here talk about gameplay first, but I would guess only about 25% really mean it. To say a game is going to suck based off of videos and screenshots just makes no sense. High Heat Baseball looked like crap and played great, Madden looks great and plays like crap, and so on and so on.

I enjoyed both the Show and MLB 2K last year and I hope to do the same this year. The only game killer for me in baseball games is poor AI lineup/pitching decisions and too many homeruns.

The one thing I give credit to 2K for is innovation. The new hitting, fielding, and pitching controls sound confusing at first but at least they come to the plate (no pun intended) with new ideas. These new ideas don't always work (see NLH 2K) but I will always give something different a try.

hey yankeepride to be honest out of many of these kats here I have respect for u cause u speak very mature. I'm starting to so many things on these boards. Its funny how this is a 2k board but there's 100's of post saying that the show is better and 2k8 sucks but no MODS say or do anything. Try doing that on the shows board and watch how u get banned and everyone starts calling u troll, fanboy etc. U made some good points

And that is the great part of having a choice. I fear the day where every sport is an exclusive. I am glad gaming has become mainstream because there is a lot more money out there to make great games but I have said for years that it may be the worst thing that ever happens to us true gamers. I feel the more mainstream something becomes, the more you see quality go down (example for me = Hip Hop music).

As the former Forum Admin here who is currently helping the new Admin transition, I'd ask that you report the posts where you see a problem. It's the weekend and much of the mod staff isn't online. Plus it's a huge forum with many users and is impossible to catch everything. Reporting a post will alert every mod/admin and someone will respond.

No one is banned for making a negative comment. Maybe someone will get an infraction for trolling, but they won't be banned unless multiple infractions occur (or they do something very bad).

                        Thanks.

Again, on the presentation front, does anybody else not like the text on the screen telling us "OUT", "SAFE", and "FOUL"? I know, it is a very minor thing, but it's just one of those things that, again, gives an arcade feel to the game. I mean, if you know me, I try to turn off as many visual displays as possible just so it can look real. I turn off the ball trail, the names under the players, the strike zone, the batter's eye, the topline player info dropdowns, and eventually (when I learn it) the ball landing spot as well. Hopefully there is an option to turn this off as well. If not, here's to hoping that next year they will just remove it completely.

Again, it's small, and probably sounds like nitpicking, but I'm really not. Just a simple obvservation that I can't really see harming anybody if it's removed or if there's an option to remove it.

I don't mind the OUT, SAFE and FOUL text. The other stuff with the exception of the ball landing spot are definitely things that need to go.

That's not surprising at all to me. With this particular issue regarding this game, I don't think it's an issue of 2K fans being overly defensive. It just seems to be extremely finicky to see people essentially say the game is going to suck, or that the developers did little/nothing to improve the game, based on the extremely short vids that were shown last night. That weren't anywhere near that bad to begin with.
True. Although I guess I don't invest myself as much as some others in some of those things. Out of all the things you listed, the only one I care about is the Steelers since I'm a born and raised Pittsburgher. I believe that's in my blood. The rest....who cares? I'll just buy the best or multiple of all of the above.

I respectfully disagree about 2K fans being overly defensive (not in general, but in certain instances/circumstances). This isn't something new either. Some of us on this board have been noticing it more frequently the last year or so and has been discussed behind closed doors and via PM. With that said, I think it goes both ways. Some have been very finicky and others have been overly sensitive. It's all a matter of opinion and I think both sides need to be respectful of the other instead of telling them they're wrong.

Regarding the videos...so much depends on what you're looking for. I know you mentioned you aren't a big baseball fan and maybe that's why some things don't jump out at you or bother you (and most of these things don't have to do with what IGN was doing). For me, I saw things in those videos that have bothered me for 2 years now and still aren't fixed. The fact that those things are still there upsets me and is why I won't purchase this game unless the demo is a lot better. I guess one could say this was the straw that broke the camels back for me.
