Not being able to sub pitchers between innings is a glitch and needs to be fixed. Because of this, we can't make mound visits to relief pitchers.

Re: ***Official Bugs/Glitches Thread***
Baserunners are VERY conservative. With two outs, they should be going on contact, but I've seen them take a lead, then head back on a fly ball...and get nailed advancing when the OF drops the ball. Also had one time with a man on third, two outs, liner to right and the runner didn't budge.Comment

Re: ***Official Bugs/Glitches Thread***
LOL!! I almost threw a controller today because two games in a row, I lost because my runner on third didn't go on the sac fly with one out. In one, the Upton caught my sac fly on the warning track, and i was jamming the trigger to advance him right after the catch was made, but i got thrown out at home. Watched the replay, he didn't budge until the ball hit the infield (EVEN with me hitting to).
So next game, very similar situation, but this time, i say i'll let the cpu handle it because maybe i messed it up by pressing advance. This time, the runner gets a very late break, then stops dead center on the base path until the ball rolls past him, the catcher picks it up and starts running toward him. I hit go back, and made it to third, but still, this is killing tight games for me.
One additional issue: bad bad calls at home and on base steals.GT: Teambayern5

Re: ***Official Bugs/Glitches Thread***
Completely stupid baserunning. Big Papi on 1st, 0 out. Youk hits a lazy fly to center, and I touched NOTHING.
Big Papi doubled off first...since he was on his way to THIRD!Comment

Re: ***Official Bugs/Glitches Thread***
I've encountered the 1B bug ONCE in a ton of games played. The one time I encountered it, I was using the face buttons to throw to first (B in this case) rather than the right stick. In easily a few hundred innings played, that's the only time I've had it happen, and I use the right stick for throwing 99% of the time.
Get rid of the "quick throw" BS completely. It's stupid, it's pointless. If I fill the throw meter completely THAT MEANS THROW IT HARD AND QUICK. If I barely fill the throw meter, feel free to lackidaisically throw the ball.
Pitchers don't throw balls, batter don't take strikes, as everyone knows about.
In addition to pitchers almost never throwing balls, they almost never throw inside. 90% of the HR I've hit have been opposite field shots on outside pitches.
Pickoffs are ludicrously easy on Pro with default sliders. I haven't tried exploring this further, but I've gotten at least 20 pickoffs in as many tries on any runner taking a 3 step lead, at both first and second.
Fenway's right field bullpen wall is a "double wall" with the lower one being around foot or two higher than it should be, which makes higher one behind it somewhere around three feet higher than it should be. This "upper wall" is only present in front of the bullpen and looks like it could be fairly easily removed from the park model.
Starting pitchers DO NOT GET WINS if they pitch fewer than 5 innings regardless of the score when they left the game. Technically the W goes to the "most effective" releiver, but even just giving it to the first reliever (assuming no lead changes) would be acceptable.
In a few weeks of simming my franchise I've seen three different starters (Daisuke, Beckett, Penny) get knocked out in 2.2 innings only to have Wakefield come in and pitch 6.1 near flawless innings. Maybe its an anomaly, but the fact they all went 2.2 leads me to believe it's a flaw in the sim coding.
Random outfielder slow downs.
NO SCORES ON ANY SCOREBOARDS. Hell, if you're going to rob us of the live scoring from previous 2K baseball games, at least put SOMETHING on the damned things.
The minor league park with the giant brick wall in right has ZERO collission detection for the wall.
NONE of the player records mentioned verbally or in the walk up pop up are correct. JD Drew wasn't top 5 in the AL for HR last year or any year. Nick Markakis did not lead the AL in Saves. Jason Varitek was not 20th in the AL in Triples. In fact, Jason Varitek had ZERO triples. But even if he did, who really cares about TWENTEITH in triples?
Dirt/dust clouds constantly down the first base line.
Swing animations are choppy, but not in a framerate sense. It's like the batter's step and swing are two totally separate processes, rather than two parts of a whole.
Rundowns are a complete joke.
Players tagging up don't seem to run hard 90% of the time. I can't count how many times I've been gunned down by 10 feet on a tag play that should have at least been close b/c the player looks like he's jogging from 2nd to 3rd.
I'm sure there are many more I'm leaving out.Last edited by RedSoxFox7; 03-11-2009, 02:48 AM.Comment

Re: ***Official Bugs/Glitches Thread***
1. Fix the pitch counts. (make more balls being thrown and strikes taken, swings and misses etc..)
2. Fix the slow motion jog from outfielders before the catch and the super fast speed up after the play. The speed of fielders needs to be tuned in general.
3. The first baseman thing is not a glitch imo. Its just a sensitivity thing with the throw stick. In general the sensitivity of hte controls needs to be tuned. As you get used to the controls this kind of stuff doenst happen but you can tell the controls are not tuned quite right.
4. IE needs to really be looked at and tuned correctly. If you use it you notice certain hitters cant hit certain pitches at all. This needs to be tuned and overhauled imo.
5. It doesnt seem to me like defensive ratings matter at all or very little.
6.. Would be nice if certain player faces were added redone.
In general I'm just hoping if this game is patched it will be a serious balancing and tuning thing, because this game could be pretty good. Thats it for now.
As I said in my last post, I've never had it happen using the right stick, but the one time I used the face buttons it happened, and it happened just the same as everyone else has described. It was a throw in the green and not off target. The first baseman just pulled his foot off the bag for no reason, and made absolutely no attempt to correct his positioning before the runner got there.Comment

Re: ***Official Bugs/Glitches Thread***
I've had two slow guys (Castro and Bard) get forced out at second when the guy behind them 'singles' to the outfield in eight games played. Now I know this happens occasionally but these weren't even close.Comment

Re: ***Official Bugs/Glitches Thread***
Man I am seeing that one right now with Normar. I even have him on the DL and it is saying that after every day. Yet Dallas Braden got a concussion after taking a line drive off his head (and yes it was very cool when it happened in the game) and he is now out 27 games. Normar's injury was originally 3 days, so I kept him on the roster not on the DL and after the 3rd day it started to do the every day saying he is hurt for one more day.Comment

Re: ***Official Bugs/Glitches Thread***
Not even sure this should be in this thread, but felt it may get deleted if I started a new thread for this. Even though I would hope they fix this in a roster update.
But Oakland's alternative jersey's are a bit messed up. Just a uniform issue, but an odd one and one that should be easy for them to fix since they have fixed the color of certain teams cleats.
Anyway, if you choose the black jersey's the A's have the players where the all green hat with it an if you choose the green jersey, they then wear the all black hat. Normally uniform issues don't bug me much, but this ends up looking so dumb It makes me not even bother using them anymore.Comment

Re: ***Official Bugs/Glitches Thread***
I've seen this one three times:
I have a runner on first. The CPU tries to pick off the runner and he slides back in successfully, stands up and jogs to second while the first baseman holds the ball. Runner gets credit for a stolen base.
I have also seen on several occasions on close plays where the fielder will not tag the runner. Just last night I sent a runner home from second on a two out single. The runner slid head first into the plate and the catcher caught the throw that came in on the high side away from the runner. He never tried to tag the runner and was actually facing away from the base runner who was called out.
**CPU hits line drive single into left field. Manny gets in front of the ball and just stands there and lets the ball roll past him to the wall. The *hit also happens to the infielders.
**Outfielder arms need to be toned down. I threw a strike from the warning track in RF last night.
**Umm....has anyone mentioned the AI Aggressiveness at the plate? If anyone thinks it isn't a problem, pitchers are swinging at 3-0 pitches. Get a clue 2K.
**There also needs to be more foul balls to help with pitch counts.
**It may be a fatigue issue, but I'm sick of seeing the CPU take out starters with shutouts going in the 7th after allowing 2 hits and throwing only 80 pitches.
Congrats to all the genius's at 2k for releasing the game with more silly bugs in it than anything in recent years.Comment
