Re: Anyone else thinking about PC version?

There is no comparison between the 2k9 PC version and the Xbox360 version if you have a good PC. I have a 2.8GHZ Dual Core, 4GB Ram, and an Nvidia GT260 (paid $159 for on sale) and it ran like butter on my 30" Dell monitor at 2500x1600....that's right....2500x1600. I do highend video editing and animation so that is why I have this killer monitor. Also....with the 360 controller on the PC it felt more responsive than the Xbox 360 too!

Anyway, IMHO 2k9 really never pushed the hardware that much. I also played it on my backup machine with a DualCore 2GHZ with 2GB Ram and an NVidia 7950 card and it ran fine at 1920x1080 there too.

Having said all this, this years could be completely different so your mileage may vary.

And even though there weren't as many mods as in the past, the mod for PRogressive Field still made my day!

Hopefully there will be a PC demo like last year. I've got the 360 demo, but I'd like to see how it runs on my PC before I would think about buying it.

I really hope there is a pc demo considering they raised the price of the game by 50%. I hope nothing is ommitted from it like last year as well with a price hike (ie online and dirty unis etc).

I just hope there is some kind of anti-piracy system for online play.

If there is, I'll buy it via Steam.

I honestly wouldn't expect online function (at least not for play...roster support/MLB Today would be nice)...as the game is still half the price of the console version.

This is one thing I thought of recently. Will the PC version support MLB Today? 2K9 didn't support living rosters, so it makes me wonder. I'm hoping the price hike represents something positive in that regard and not just a price hike...lol.

EDIT: I just read somewhere that NBA 2K10 had online play, living rosters, etc. Is that true? If so, then the PC version is virtually a steal if the game is up to snuff.

              just put my order in.
PC for 2k sports games for me. since NBA 2k9 and MLB 2k9. its cheaper and IMO looks and plays better than the consoles.
of course I have what you would call a kitted out PC. all the bells and whistles.

Yep, PC for me. I have an Xbox 360, but PC is my platform of choice (not that my choice has many choices these days). I am hoping one can print rosters and stats in 2k10 (the best part, for me, of PC sports gaming).

I'll be getting the PC version as usual. There is a few posts on the MLB 2k10 website that seem to state that there will be online play for the PC, but who really knows. I've tried asking this various ways, Ron answered someond and said I think your on to something and he couldn't comment about it. Its kind of werid, sounds like if there is online play theretrying to hide it.

Yeah, I have a halfway decent HP quad and NBA2k looks pretty darn good. I have a few probs with framerate now and then, but I'm running at 1920x1080 60FPS on a 42" monitor. It looks great. After playing the demo of MLB on 360 and all of it's jaggies in 1080p, I'm really praying to be able to get at least what I have been getting out of NBA. The game is buttery smooth framerate wise on 360, it's just fuzzy and jaggy. If I can get the pretty graphics that normally come with the PC version with the framerate of the 360, I'm gonna love this game. And with possible modding and half the price, it's a no brainer!

Does anybody know if the pc version will be available for direct download? I bought 2k9 at best buy through that system but 2k10 does not seem to be available (not in pre-order, or coming soon) and for people outside the US like myself, this is the only way of getting the game without having to pay a lot of extra money for shipping, if international shippin is available at that.

if i recall 2k9 did not have any pre-order for the PC...they had it available on the release date...

since you're outside of the US try Gamersgate and Direct2Drive for your digital needs..

Direct2Drive only allows dowloads from the US, UK, Canada and Mexico. Sadly I am in Spain so it's not an option, I'll check Gamersgate though, thanks for the response.

Looking at the stadium pictures leaves me with the conclusion that buying the PC version is the only choice if you want to get rid of all the jaggies. They really stand out in those stadium pictures.

I'm either getting the show or the pc version of mlb2k10..only reserve I have for the PC is the lack of support. I'm currently playing nba 2k10 pc and there seems to be no patch support coming? Even though they keep saying it's being worked on..I have a feeling they will treat the mlb pc version the same way..

Had started a thread looking for modding for this game, didn't see this one.

Anyway, I'll get this on PC if the support for the game is good. PC gaming is still the way to go whenever possible.
