I noticed that too when I started a SS in the M's system. If I remember right, he retires at the end of your first season. I think Ichiro does also, or the 2nd year.

I just got the game yesterday and started a my player after making the characters from major league on the indians, except for Pedro Cerrano who I made a my player. I am still in my first season in double a with the Akron Aeros, about the last week of july, and after 41 games I have 13 home runs, 44 RBIs, and I am batting .409. I have all my major league call up goals done except for awareness. This game is awesome. Also, I removed Shin Soo Choo from the indians so I could have an easy path to the majors.

Had kind of a funny situation happen. Just started a catcher for the Mets org. Playing in their AA farm team. I usually don't pay that much attention to the players names in the game at this level, but this caught my attention.

SP for my team: Mariano Rivera
SP for opposing team: Jamie Moyer

At bat during one of my defensive plays: Omar Vizquel

I thought I had been dumped into an old-timers game somehow!

Just had to report this game I just recorded with my SS Johan Smith. I'm hitting 4th for the Red Sox playing the Orioles in July 2014.

Hit 4/6, Stole home, Single, Double, Triple, Home Run, 5 RBI, 2 R

The homerun I hit to complete my cycle was also a grand-slam. I got 2,055 batting skill points and 200 fielding/baserunning for a total of 2,500 skill points (x4 multiplier due to hit streak and key game)

            We won 11-7

ALL ON LEGEND SLIDERS...I got a 2B for miami when i started it up i kept his eye for both left and right below the req. levels so i could build my contact and power up like crazy in the minors...played in the minors for like a year and a half with over a .400 B.a ..came up to the majors with a solid player and batted .273 with 9 HR and 57 RBI in 106 games NL rookie of the year and my team went 80-82 no playoffs,,then next season i PLAYED THE ENTIRE spring training..built my man up to a B+ player by the start of the season and went all types of ham.. .370 B.a, 44 HR, 192 RBI (major league record) 124 R, 264 Hits (major league record) 110-52 record (best in MLB) NL MVP,NL silver slugger, NL Batting title...ended the season with my man rated a 95...batted .381 in the playoffs with 9 HR and 25 RBI en route to a WS victory and MVP..my question is ..is there a spot i can see my career playoff stats like my reg. season stats? i only know mine cause it just finished..???

Re: MLB 2k12 How's Your My Player Going Thread?

I normally play online or do just Franchise mode, but My Player mode really got me interested in the past couple days. I created a Starting Pitcher based on Randy Johnson, 6'10" 250lbs, mustache, etc.

Did random team and got the Blue Jays and started off absolutely horrendously... My stat line as of 10 games played; ERA 5.78: WHIP 2.64: BAA .309.

Then I realized that I wasn't spending my SP correctly. I was putting 1 SP into each category rather than raising the stats by a full level. Don't ask me what I was thinking. Anyway, I started spending correctly, righted the ship, and just got moved up to AAA Las Vegas 51's.

However, my last game in AA? 11.0 IP, 8 H, 0 ER, 0 HR, 0 BB, 96 Pitches, 15 Balls, 81 Strikes. NO DECISION. Thanks Offense. Got +1855 SP though, so can't really complain. I felt like Cliff Lee...

My stat line now; ERA 2.31: WHIP 1.23: BAA .234

#51 (my name) Starting Pitcher Workhorse
Throws a 4 Seam Fastball that ranges from 83-91 mph but avg. is 88
Throws a Curveball that ranges from 74-80 mph but avg. is 78
Throws a Palmball that ranges from 71-75 mph but avg. is 74
Was drafted (pressed Y so random team) by the Red Sox organization
sent to AA Portland Sea Dogs.
My first start I went 1.2 IP rough outing... Gave up about 5 Runs
My second start I went 3.1 IP another poor start giving up about 4 Runs
But my Third start I went 7.2 IP and only giving up 1 run
But for my fourth start which really pisses me off is my manager made me start back to back games when last game I went into the 8th innning so pitcher was so fatigued... threw 14 pitches and left the game after pitching 0.2 IP with men on first and second. Then i eneded up with the loss since we got shutout. I was responsible for one run.
So now I'm 3-5 with two CG and one Shutout. one game I pitched 8 shut out innings when the closer blew it it was making it a 0-1 final. Sea Dogs get no run support.
Team Batting Avg. is like .225 with 4 starters batting under .200 including Nick Punto
Now I am 3-5 with an ERA of 4.45

Actually, that's pretty much the way it was for Randy when he was starting out on the Mariners and what Felix is feeling now.

Just picked up the game today and started right up with my player because i was hoping it would be as great as as nba 2k12, and i was correct it is better. I created AJ Lester a left fielder with a 2nd position as 2nd base.(thats where i play for my real baseball team) He is 6'1 193lbs and is built small. He has a nice goatee also. I made my custom batting stance.(as it is in real life) I decided to be a clutch type player over slugging type. I randomly got chosen to the Cincinnati Reds AA squad. I am currently a few games in and hitting over 600 with 0hr and about 8rbi's. AJ is late on a lot of pitches so he hitting over 95% of his hits to left. Still waiting 4 that 1st homer, anxious to get it i need to read the pitches earlier and start pulling it before I expect a homer. He had 5 rbis his 1st game wchich i didnt expect for a while since i hadnt played 2k11 in over 1 year maybe a 1year 1/2. Will continue to update on AJ Lester and hope to get the hang of pitching and pulling the ball more b4 i start a franchise with Mets or Reds.

Really trying to get a starting pitcher to the majors.. for the first time.. 10 starts 3-3 record 2.75 ERA 1.17 whip 49k's in 55.2 innings .. getting pounded the last 4 starts now after a 3-1 record.. opponent BA went from around .230 to .294.. haven't been getting even close to my pitch count/stamina before getting yanked because everything is getting hit

My player is a 6 year closer for the Dodgers. Due to the lack of a ....uh..... what's that thing called again... oh yeah, a life, (whatever that is) i've played every damned game. My minors stats were great, but they don't matter. My career has been amazing. first year in the majors was okay, as I had 25 saves and 11 blown saves. Then, I didn't blow a save for the next 4 years. The next BS i had was against the Phillies, In witch i walked one guy, then the next hit a single, and the speedy dude on first made it to third. and my clumsy RF overthrew my 3B so the guy scored. Oh well. My ERA over my career is a spectacular 1.43. My saves number is 257 with 30 Blown saves. I've only surrendered 6 HR and my BAA (batting average against) Is 1.96. We are just starting my 7th season. We won the World Series in my 3rd and 4th. And I got to save the 9th inning of game 7 in my first Series. Was amazing. We are i think 40ish games into this season, and I'm already at 26 saves. I mean holy crap! Either our Pitchers suck, or they just love me. I think i'll destroy the record of 62 by Francisco Rodriguez. I beat the single month record of saves of 15 by 4, going 19-19 in that month. And yeah, i'm 20-20. Since i'm on summer break, i'm going to continue my thrashing of these noobs and finish this season in 2 weeks. I'll update. Peace Off!

I'm just guessing but it must be really fast game to be a closer.. click for next apperance.. come in the 9th.. one inning, game over then play the next? I didn't get my starting pitcher to the majors in year one.. didn't have my curveball up to 65 for my 2nd pitch.. maybe he can be a starter by the 2nd season's all star break since I"m assuming I need to win 5 games again.. at least I'll have time to get the pitch stats up that way.. most pitchers don't get a call up after half a year in the minors anyway!

Yeah it's usually just the 9th. One game I got put in in the 6th and hurled 3.1 innings. Got tired in the 9th and gave up a Homer. But it's normally 1 or 0.2 innings pitched per appearance. But it's sooooo annoying when they put you in during the 7th inning or 8th even, wich happens every 10 or so games. But eh, no complaints when i get 40 sv's per yr. This season, wich i've played 20 games since that post, im still perfect with like 45 saves. give or take. But 7 times in those 20 or so i was put in in the 7th, 3 times in the 8th, and 2 times in the 6th. Dumb-arse managers.
