Re: MLB 2k12 How's Your My Player Going Thread?

Pretty amazing finish to my regular season:

I'm playing with the Royals in my first full season, and all season Ive been in the bottom 3 of the AL Central being anywhere from 9-15 games back. However, from mid August til the end of September we went on a tear, while the top 2 teams in the Central struggled. Over the last 2 weeks of the season, we went into first at one time, only to slip back to about 3.5 games back. Well, going into the last game of the season we were .5 games back of the Tigers. We needed to win, they needed to lose, and that is exactly what happened, putting us in the playoffs playing the Wild Card winner Tampa Bay(played Game 1 this morning and won...up 1-0). Through the last 2 or 3 weeks of the season, it felt exactly like a team trying to make the playoffs. I had about 6 games go into extra innings, and only lost 1 of them. we won about 3 games with walk off hits.

Anyways, as for me, I went crazy in our run. Before the run, my average fluctuated between .300 and .310, but now my average sits at .349 with 29 HR's, 122 RBI's, 35 SB's, and am first in the AL MVP race.

Get out the rye bread and mustard grandma, its grand salami time! My Oh My!

Hit my first grand slam last night in my rookie season with the Mariners. Went 2/4 for the night with 5 RBIs. Other hit was a solo HR.

Switch hitter with my contact/power at 81/80 from the left side. I don't know if its just my imagination or what, but I seem to be hitting more HRs if I keep the leftstick off to the side to pull the ball. Just started doing it and my HRs have increased since doing it. I haven't been putting points into my power on the right side, so haven't tried it from that side.

      Anyone else noticed this?

I never touch the left stick when batting and hit plenty of HR's.

I've created a couple of players that I go back to now and then. First I created Abraham Justice, CF and savior of the KC Royals franchise. Hit the hell out of the ball in the minors, but has struggled a bit in the majors. Obviously I would have preferred an A's player, but I wanted a CF player, and they kind of already have a guy in that spot. I'm not crazy about fielding in general in My Player mode, but oh well.

I also created Mason Sands, Dodgers SP prospect.

Just started a CF with the Astros, first game in AA I had a good time batting, but the next game I went 0/4. I chose to be a Golden Glove as it seemed good for an outfielder. Any tips?

One complaint I have with the minor leagues is that the stadiums aren't correct. I have been to plenty of Rough Riders games (AA team for the Rangers) to know that their stadium in the game is not correct. In fact the stadium that should be theirs is actually put in as the Chorpus Christi Hooks (AA team for the Astros). I know its not really a big deal but it kinda bugged me a little bit

My CF just got moved up to the majors and his first AB for the Astros he hits a solo home run. Not a bad way to start your career

TOO EASY. I play 1B for the Pirates on legend mode and I dominate! I figured since I was destroying all-star i'd bump it up, i batter around .450 my first big league year, and now about 25 games in im at .458! I hit homers at least twice a seris, and it just seems unfair because I man handle pitchers. I wish they would make it difficult, I've watched my brother play road to the show and I feel like they had way more realism involved in their game. Either way, maybe its time to start a pitcher?

Welcome to the world of Ryan Rocker... Son of the crazy John Rocker.

Drafted into the Mets organization, he is 1-1 with 10 Ks, 0 BB and a 2.87 ERA in his first three games.

So far he is looking like a great prospect but still has some issues with control.

When will my Closing Pitcher get to actually close a game? He has done great and all the Marlins have had him do is hold in the 8th inning, do great and a lot of time not allow any hits, and the next inning put in another closer

What winups does everyone use for their MyPlayer pitcher?

                                I have toyed with quite a few, A custom high-overhand, low-overhand, Chris Carpenter's, Carlos Zambrano's, Shaun Marcum's, and now back to Carp's.

Figure I will keep toiling with the windups while I am in the minors. Haven't really found success yet. Seemed with Zambrano's out of the windup I had more on my slider and knuckle curve. Marcum from the stretch had all my pitches breaking pretty nasty, and Carpenter's windup helped me locate my fastball better but the velocity of my 94mph fastball was only touching 91/92 out of Carp's windup.

My role for my SP is 'workhorse' ... and I want a windup which fits that sort of role. I also want a windup that doesn't drop my fastball's velocity.

Suggestions? I used Peavy's and Lackey's in the past and don't want to use those again.
