    Re: Any questions?

I have a question regarding wind.

In 2K3, it seemed that the wind blew in the same direction most of the time in a given stadium. I played a lot of games in Comiskey, and it seemed to me that the wind was blowing in and to the right, pretty much every game, at approximately 9 mph. It was near constant. Was that an actual issue, and has it been addressed?

Also, will the flags blow in relation to the wind direction? Will they stop blowing altogether if there is no wind? In the past, I believe they always blew to the right, no matter what was going on with the actual wind.

If I get ALOT of home runs and RBIs, is they going to start going BACKWARDS (for some God forsaken reason) or is it going to continue going forward like it's SUPPOSED to?

Last year, I hit 150 (or 250.. I forgot) homeruns in one season and the number started going BACKWARDS... Now I know there are lots of you simulation people out there but for me, if I hit 251 home runs, I want it to SAY 251 home runs... Not 249!!!

Please tell me you fix it this year.

      Thanks FP

They will still stop going up at some point, but they won't loop to negative numbers. For HRs it caps out at either 255 or 511, can't remember. For SBs, which was the one that most people had problems with , it caps at 255, so you can break the record this year

      <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

      FINALLY!!

Rat Bastard was a speed demon on the base paths last year, loking to easily break the record only to be denied by it storing them incorrectly...

Glad to see this and other things are fixed..

While the game does not look as pretty as MVP, with the fixes and tweaks discussed(love the new stats this year!!), I think it will be the best BASEBALL game of them all.

Still renting them all first. Not gonna get pimped by VC/SEGA like I did with NHL.

Not complaining here, FatPitcher, but will the servers in ESPN MLB be similar to ESPN NHL? I'm not sure what plagued that game, maybe the complexity of the games and insuring no-lag gameplay, but Many games "couldn't be joined", would show 0 players ready to play the game instead of 1-4 sometimes....and i could never join or accept an invite from my Friends List...Also, the stats were reset every month and there were some kind of exploits where you could reset your opponents record. Any idea if any of these things were addressed for ESPN MLB 2K4?

Also, in the demo i had trouble scoring runners from 2nd base on singles...were they just shallow hits or did you guys adjust the timing of that for 2K4? I liked the way it was in 2K3...

Another edit: Also, are the replays fixed this year? they always started too late last year...they'd already show the ball in the player's mitt...er glove

Sega's been improving their PS2 servers, from what I hear. I personally haven't played any of their online games except NFL on Xbox, and I didn't see any of the problems you described. As far as the stat resets go, that's up to Sega, and and I don't know what the plan is there.

There were a lot of tuning changes between the demo and the final product, so double plays are easier, throw speeds are slower (which is probably what was keeping you from scoring), etc.

Replays are better, though there's still room for improvement. You'll definitely see more of the play, but there are still a lot of moving (non-broadcast style) cameras and stuff.
