Sorry if this has been answered before--I looked through the thread and couldn't find it.

    1. Can you sim a few inning and then jump in and play a game in franchise?

    2. Can you sim-to-end?

    3. Can you manage the game while simming?

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

    1. Yes
    2. Yes
    3. Sort of--you can make substitutions and check the box score, but you can't call for steals, tell you hitter to bunt, do intentional walks, etc.

Yeah, there are multiple "all-star" teams this year: AL East, AL Central, AL West, NL East, NL Central, NL West, Dominican Republic, USA, International, and Venezuela. (I think the roster cutoff date for these teams may have been a bit earlier than for the regular rosters, so A-Rod might be on the AL West instead of AL East.)

It didn't sound very bad, but if it's just another unrealistic mode, not to mention replacing Big League Challenge, then I see the disappointment in it, but I don't see where it is on the lines of "laughable".

It's supposed to be an "unrealistic" and light-hearted mode. It's not some serious mano-e-mano, tt's a quick game you can play when you've got 2 or 3 friends over. If you're the pitcher, you have a Heckle and a Taunt button at your disposal. Rex talks smack and crazy (or crazier) talk the whole time. Pitchers throw fits when they get smacked around. That kind of thing.

Anyway, here's how the the mode is set up:
            - You can have up to 4 teams, each with 1 pitcher and 1 batter (all 4 can be human, or you can throw CPU teams into the mix, but the game is meant to be played with humans)
            - Player 1 pitches to all the other players
            - Player 2 pitches to all the other players
            - Player 3 (if any) pitches to all the other players
            - Player 4 (if any) pitches to all the other players

That's one round. Games are one round by default, but there's an option for more rounds.

The points are balanced out so that pitching and hitting are pretty even in terms of how many points you generally score per batter. The pitcher gets more points for strikes than the batter gets for most hits, but the pitcher can only have 5 strikes max per at-bat, and the batter can string together as many hits as he is able to.

                  Re: Any questions?

FP, I'm thinking about online play and how you have to pause the game to:

                  1) Make a substitution
                  2) Replay
                  3) K-Zone (or is it sometimes an automatic replay?)
                  4) View Box Score
                  5) Warm up a pitcher in the bullpen
                  6) To View Confidence for all players
                  7 Other reasons?
I don't want an answer to all those individually, but what mechanisms are in game other than the timer? does the timer have enough time for changes? Does the other player see those changes? Does the other player in an online game see your effort meter? If you play with pitch cursor on (i never would) does the other player see the cursor, etc.? I know in NFL 2K4, it would say "Remote Player viewing options" or something like that, or do you see who he is warming up? A nice lil' summary would make my day FP.

You have 4 minutes of pause time each game, which should be plenty. In general, the other person will see what you see. There are a couple exceptions for things like the Friends list on Xbox, but I can't think of any game-related ones.

                              Re: Any questions?

I have a question regarding wind.

In 2K3, it seemed that the wind blew in the same direction most of the time in a given stadium. I played a lot of games in Comiskey, and it seemed to me that the wind was blowing in and to the right, pretty much every game, at approximately 9 mph. It was near constant. Was that an actual issue, and has it been addressed?

Also, will the flags blow in relation to the wind direction? Will they stop blowing altogether if there is no wind? In the past, I believe they always blew to the right, no matter what was going on with the actual wind.
