I have the AI skill at 100 and the contact/power combo at 20/0...and AI pitcher difficulty at 25. I think I'll move the AI pitcher difficulty down to 20 and see if the CPU can generate a little more offense. What do you guys think?

Yeah I assumed that you had the Skill slider at 100, and adjusting the AI pitcher difficulty slider seems like it would be your best option right now. The only other suggestion I have is if a lot of your run production comes from the CPU throwing meatballs, try turning that slider down some and see how it works for you.

SportsGamer24, what might be causing the lack of Offensive is your combination of AI Batting Sliders. The Power Slider @ 0 might be your problem. Remember the Power Slider affects how hard the ball is hit by the AI. It doesn't mean if you make it higher, the AI will do nothing but hit HR's. I suggest you move the Power Slider up little by little until you see the results your looking for.

I think the 80/20 Pitcher Difficulty theory is spot-on

Appreciate it nnng07. Listen I have a question for you. Have you read the 75/25 Theory Serial Mike posted in the general discussion section? I really think he's on to something(User Batting Sliders 75 Contact/25 Power) he suggested these settings would allow for more Foul Balls & a better variety of hits for the user. The only thing he wasn't so sure about was how Step Influence & Power Swing Sliders should look like. Here's the thread in case you haven't seen it

        http://forums.operationsports.com/vB...d.php?t=201417

I tried them & they actually felt real good. Any thoughts?

My bad, I accidently put down my human batting settings. I have the CPU contact/power at 55/45 and the AI skill at 100.

I suggest turning CPU contact/power to 45/50. This change made a lot of difference for me.

My issue with going down that route is that I have to increase the step influence a lot, which I am not willing to do since I am not a big 'step' fan. I am currently gettting 4-5 foul balls per inning and I don't really want to mess with the contact-slider since I don't feel the need to increase this. Also, I have noticed that when contact is 60 or higher, I strike out a maximum of 5-6 times a game.

For the first thing, if you really are tearing up guys like Santana, all I can suggest is turning up pitcher difficulty all the way up to 100. Me personally, I still can't hit a lick off the top hurlers in the game, but if you feel like you are cranking them, you should definately turn it up to 100.

For the meat pitch thing, basically that's what the Meat Pitch slider controls. I think it is simply how often the pitch cursor will indicate to you exactly where the pitch is coming. If you think that they show you where it is too often, turn this down to 5 or so.
Thanks. for my first issue, its not that im hitting the top pitchers all gmae, its that when i do hit them they are homers. I only got about 5 hits off Santana,a nd he did strike me out 10 times, but the 3 out of 5 hits were homers. Seems like too many balls flyout of the park. Should I put down the power slider?

Ill try the meat pitch slider for my other issue. Thanks

[quote=TheProfessional;3009446]I had come across that same exact thing. Pitchers do issue 4 ball walks, but in the game it just doesn't happen.

I've seen several 4-0 walks by the cpu...i'll post the sliders i'm using to see if it helps...i have the ps3 version, but i can't see that being an issue. i'll post about 5:30 pm (et) when i get home from work.

Does anybody know the average amount of pitches each team throws in an MLB game?

Maybe you might want to turn the power swing influence down by a notch or two if that is how you're hitting your HRs?

The reason I go with the 70/30 approach for CPU taking pitches as opposed to the contact slider being 45, is that I feel like the strikeouts are more representative of what you see in the MLB. It's not the strikes that the CPU misses for strikeouts. It's the uncertainty of what pitch is coming next. Tied into that... any ball that slides or drops out of or just misses the zone are the ones that are swung at for strike 3.

Also, I see a few "Caught Looking" strikeouts as well, which is definetely fun to acheive.

bigjoe, what I am wondering is have you tried the slider set as it is on the first page (with whatever personal difficulty adjustments you need in the AI Skill and the pitcher Effectiveness Mod settings), and if so are you noticing a lack of foul balls? I feel like I both hit and see the CPU hit a fair ammount of foul balls, especially when I put maximum effort into my pitches, and am wondering if you are not getting the same results?

No I haven't. I did thought have the same exact User Hitting Settings for my Pure Realism Slider as yours except for Step Influence & didn't see a lot of foul balls. Maybe my Step Influence Slider had something to do with it?

You think the cpu would generate more offense with the contact/power setting at 45/50 instead of 55/45 ?
