Thanks. I will try to see how I fair with Payoff

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**

Just a quick question from those of you who are using these sliders. In my experience, even with power sliders set at zero I am still hitting too many homers. What I came up with is only pushing up on 2-0 and 3-1, when I am trying to hit a sack fly, or when I get a meat pitch. This has limited the homers and still about half of the homers come off of pitches where I don't push up. So how are the homers with these sliders. What I also noticed was with speed set at 100 I was getting and getting hit off of me too many triples. Let me know how you have been doing. I was doing okay with my sliders, offensively I was doing well but I was pitching too well so they weren't scoring. I can't find a way to get them to hit rbi's without always hitting homeruns.

        Dont push up....ever.

I dont and still get perfectly realistic homer totals.

Exactly. I actually hit less homeruns with my power hitters (Chipper Jones, Andruw Jones, Mark Teixiera) and more with my role players (Renteria, McCann, Kelly Johnson). It's nice to have the balance.

Obviously I need to play more games to get a true feel for these sliders. I played the first game and won 11-3 and left a lot more runs on the basepaths. I hit .467 as a team, had 18 hits, 3 homeruns, 2 triples, 4 doubles without ever pushing up. I am playing with the padres and was playing against Barry Zito and the Giants. My real fear is their cpu offense. I pitched with Peavy, threw 101 pitches over 6 innings, struck out 9, gave up 3 hits, and didn't give up any runs until the 9th inning with Kevin Cameron. Hopefully next game will be more competitive, I was using Peavy and the Giants don't have a whole lot of offense.

I stopped reading at that point.

Game 1 of the World Series...Boston wins 13-1 and has 17 hits, think it will be the same in the next few games? No, neither do i, and nor are these sliders.

Come back after playing 20 games minimum then see how they level out!

I'm not sure if you know the answer to this question or not but in the sliders section, the option where the hitters use inside edge, does that mean the cpu would use the tendancies of say Jake Peavy or does inside edge track how I as the user pitch?

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**

Been using this set (using swing stick 25 contact 10 power) and the set has been working out well except that I've been swept in my first 3 series as the Bo Sox

About 90% of the runs that have been scored on me have been solo shots or 2 run homeruns so I got to thinking it was the amount of juice I was puttin on the ball.

                  So to the question:

About how much "effectiveness" do you use when you pitch. I usually only hold it down for a short bit to try n get my pitchers through as much of the game as possible. It usually is about 3% stamina per batter which averages out to about 7-10% stamina gone through an inning.

Hey, I too say a similar problem. When I pitch I hold it down quite a bit not max but I would say about 85-90%. It does tire out your pitcher faster but because in this set the pitch effectiveness modifier is set to like 100 or something the computer will punish you if you throw less effective pitches.

As for my previous post, I looked a little closer and realized the use inside edge made the batters use real life tendencies.

I use more juice when pitching in the zone, and especially to dangerous hitters, i often use little or just a tap when i deliberately throw a ball.

Fellas, you really can get lots of strikeouts on balls, i do, try it for a while, you wont give up as many jacks either as when the CPU does contact its on a poor pitch so is often an easy out.

^^^ I basically do the same thing but I've noticed with the slider settings for CPU contact/power if I ever try to go inside on someone no matter who it is it usually will get smacked to the fence. It's kinda weird what I'm experiencing now.

I started a Boston franchise and started off 0-8 mostly losing by 1-3 runs and most of their runs coming from homers.

I got a bit annoyed starting off like that so I figured I would try out the mets. I am currently 8-0 and basically every game is a shutout or they score about 1 or 2 runs while I've been smacking close to 5-8 a game (with a couple of games at 1 or 2 because they had a pitcher who could throw 95+)

I'm still trying to find the right setup for batting but I shall prevail!!!

I've moved over to zone pitching to try and change things up a bit and boy am I having a hard time. I throw about 75% meat pitches, I just can't get the timing down.

I was wondering to others using zone pitching:

Do you use Zone 1 or 2 and got any tips for me?

Even i have toned down my play now, NBA 2K8 has taken over, but post patch 2K7 is a great game, im already looking forward to tweaking sliders for 2K8.

Im still splaying this game. Your sliders are quite challenging..I do have blow out games here and there and I also have nail biters

I have one more game left in my season. Im the Yanks and i simmed most of the season and my record is 105-56. Not bad. Arod had 2 hr for me last night bringing his season total to 49. Hopefully i hit one more with him in the last game to bring me to 50

My only concern is my bullpen. They have been really shaky the last month of the season for me. Farnsworth and Vizcaino have been terribly inconsistent. We will see how i fair in the postseason

                                Looking foward to 2k8
