I'm still not convinced that it matters what it says on the top. If the sliders are identical except one click of one slider, but one says custom-p and the other says custom-a, are we really saying that means the game will play considerably different? One click of one slider? Seems hard to believe.

I doubt it plays different but I imagine it makes a difference for the cards if you are worried about that at all.

I like the sliders but I am seeing a lot of extra base hits by the CPU. Should I raise the contact slider to see more CPU hits that are not deep into the outfield?

I'm still not generating any walks. CPU just continues to throw strikes.

Also I'm not seeing any line drive hits. All my hits have been "popcorn" fly balls either to the outfield or catcher??????????

Believe it or not, I have my Skill setting at 100 and power at 85 and I'm getting a good variety of hits now. With the power rating in the 50's the entire game slows to a bore when I'm on offense because the slow grounders and lazy fly balls. The other way to fix it would be to lower the IF/OF speed to practically nothing and I'm not doing that.

Another guy on the forum said that he maxed everything out and went backwards to find what feels right to him. I did that with power. At 85 (still tweaking), it seems pretty close.

Give it a try. Might work for you...might not.

Are they fly balls or line drive hits through the gaps? I'd adjust outfielder speed or lower that AI Skill rating. I have that at 10 and the CPU still gets extra base hits. Hits over my head, gap shots, hump back liners, all kinds.

I agree with this as well. If the slider is set at 50, it's 50. Who cares if it's Custom-A or P. IDK, maybe I'm missing something.

I'm trying the AI skill at 10...it seems nice so far...only a couple games tho. It definitely hasn't reduced the variety of hits for the CPU. I think with the AI Skill set high, like most people are doing, allows the CPU to get too many quality hits with pitches on the edges (and even outside) the zone. When I had the AI Skill set high, like around 80-90, the CPU was definitely hitting the ball too hard on pitches that should've have more of a chance to be a weak grounder.

Joe, I'm doing a tournament right now. Took your sliders, made some changes. I walked 5 times, CPU threw 160 pitches.

FYI, my sliders say custom-P if that makes a difference.

I even had two stolen base attempts against me! I want to play out the tourny and see the stats. I'm making no slider changes in the tournament so I don't knee-jerk game by game.

The problem is that it seems like a bug in the game, stats don't accumulate in the tourny menu, you can only see them IN game. Unless I'm doing something wrong.

Do you know if going full effectiveness has an effect on how quick your pitcher gets tired? thanks

I made a couple of minor adjustments from BFJ's set.

I put the cpu throw strikes at 10, ahead 10 and behind at 20. So far I am seeing some pretty nice pitch counts.
Also I moved the AI skill down to 65 and it seems like it is working perfect. I get hit some games but I just got done with a pitcher's dual with Jared Weaver vs. Fausto Carmona(me). I had 5 hits and 1 run they had 3 hits no runs and I K'd 7 Angels.

I also lowered the reaction time on both my IF/OF to 10 and CPU's to 10 seeing a realistic amount of balls reached and some texas leaguers up the middle that are just getting by.

What's up everyone. I looks like no matter how we try to stay within the Custom-A setting something doesn't seem right. Personally I'm still not sold that there's no difference between moving sliders in all-star & then the setting changes to Pro. I'm gonna try to get some clarity from 2K hopefully this week.

I glad people are tweaking to get their desired result. Remember my sliders are more of a starting point, then an ending point.

I was reading on here that if you start the sliders at legend... they will end up with Custom-A setting
