Yes starting with legend is the best route to take but you can still end up with pro if you adjust the sliders too far. When adjusting each slider check to see if it changes the difficulty and if it does back off a little.

I don't see the confusion wit the sliders....I personally think its moving from custem(L) to custom(A) and so on is becuz the easier/harder u make the sliders, its tellin u the level of toughness the the set is combine with all the sliders.....the question is does the overall game play differently based on the skill level? like rating boost and stuff like that

Thats what I think it is as well. I don't think it actually makes a difference, I just think is telling you a rough estimate of how difficult your sliders are.

I thought the Custom-P,A,L was just for us who change sliders and the card system. I know you cant get cards on rookie and chances of a better card go up with the level you go up. I dont actually think custom-p has any impact on the sliders themselves.

What did you change it to? I believe mine was at 75,and the cpu still didn't make any steal attempts.

I could not move that up from default even one click or it would change to Custom-P. Anyone else have that issue?

Not sure if the above had anything to do with it but I just got destroyed by the Blue Jays. I don't know if these sliders are going to be for me, seems to be way too much offense especially on the CPU's side.

I did Halladay vs Pettitte, Andy gave up six homers in five innings. Everything the CPU hit was a pissrod, no lightly hit balls. Greg Zaun was hitting low-and-away curveballs on the black to the warning track the other way.

I dunno if it's the CPU Skill being set at 100 or what, but the CPU was pretty much on every single pitch unless I threw a curveball that fooled them. Any slider, cutter, 4-seam, etc they pounded.

                      The final score was 17-11.

i just finished my first game with these sliders. it was overall a decent game and i kind of just sucked.

                        7 Inning Game

                        Giants (Me) 1 1 0
                        Rays (CPU) 5 10 0

Cain - 5.2 IP, 10 H, 5 ER, 0 BB, 7K (thought that maybe strike outs were a tad easy to get)
Kazmir - 63 PT, 43 Strikes, 20 Balls (I swung at a lot of bad pitches and it seemed that maybe the cpu threw a few too many balls), 7.0 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 5K

My only run was a Bengie Molina solo shot. They had quite a few doubles and 1 Carl Crawford HR. Pretty enjoyable game i will play more and post results.

just finished my 2nd game with these sliders.

                          7 inning game

                          White Sox (ME) 1 4 0
                          Orioles (CPU) 7 13 1

                          Chicago Pitching
                          Danks - 5.0 IP, 8 H, 4 ER, 0 BB, 4K
                          Linebrink- 2.0 IP, 5H, 3ER, 0 BB, 0K

                          Baltimore Pitching
                          Guthrie - 7.0 IP, 4H, 1 ER, 1BB, 3K, 69 PT, 24 Balls, 45 Strikes.

My only run was once again a solo shot, this one with Konerko.
They had 1 HR as well. (Ramon Martinez)

It seems like the CPU offense is awfully good, but its nice to see only 1 homer.

Good looking set of sliders Joe, I have been working on a set and glancing over yours it appears somewhat similar in some areas. Are you happy with the pitcher difficulty? When I had it up around 50 on mine, it seemed like there was a huge difference in hitting pitchers the game considered good versus not and I'm not sure this is something that should be that artificial. I would absolutely clobber anyone the game didn't consider "good" and then get good games against good pitchers. It was driving me crazy, and I guess it was possible it was just me, but that seemed to be a major issue I was having when I had that up around 50 or higher.

I've been trying to go with a much lower pitcher difficulty and making the human hitting sliders lower (ai contact and power, I think skill should be 100 or close to it) to accommodate this idea. I've had mixed results so far and it's taking a lot of tuning around so I'm not sure if it will work well or not yet.

In my experience so far, I don't seem to notice a difference if I make a small change in one area that alters a slider from custom pro to allstar or vice versa. I think you may be worrying yourself unnecessarily here. I'm thinking that it just is there so you know what level the game considers you are playing at for the purpose of achievements and the like. It's possible I'm wrong but I don't think I am, it would be nice if we could get some clarification from 2k on this though.

On a side note, have you tried using tight zoom with max zoom level for the hitting. It really seems to make judging balls and strikes easier for me and I also find it "feels" much more like I'm actually batting.

I jumped it up to about 90, and I had two steals the next game against me.

The game after however I had none. So still too early to tell.
