Re: DanSF49's Bad Back Opening Day Sliders

I played 3 games with these last night and it got a little out of hand, the offense was near unstoppable for both sides.
    I lost 15-9, I then won 4-1??, and then I won 14-11.
There are just way too many hits, especially gappers by both sides.
    I had 18, 7, and 24 hits. While the cpu had 22, 12, and 20 hits.

Thats so wierd Jake I haven't seen anything like that at all. The worst thing I have seen is I was the O's vs the Blue Jays and I got beat 9-2, they had 18 hits and I had 9. Nothing is the 20's though for hits.

I think this is going to make a huge difference.
One of the other sets I was using had this at 75 and it was really hard to score.
I think with your settings 65 will be perfect.

Man you guys must be really good at this game hitting wise but really suck at pitching LOL I dont know guys, I have been using these for over a week now and have not had 1 game where runs or hits were completly out of control like that. The most HRs I have ever hit was 3 with the cubs the other night and I lost that game 6-4 to the Reds. Are you guys sure you have the sliders in correctly?? also I dont know if it makes a difference or not but I reset all my sliders to default then put it on Legend and then set the sliders from there. Maybe you can give that a try and see if it works. Otherwise I'm stumped.

it was the 5th starters anyways plus it was humid, breezy and in the 90 so the ball was going to carry

Well, I've tried a lot of the other sliders on here and I haven't had an issue pitching, but it's annoyingly difficult to pitch with these. Its just way too simple to get rocked for me with these

Not to mention, my opponent has been committing way too many errors

with these in franchise i normally trade for power pitchers, those seem to be the best for me to get strike outs

Well, I liked most the changes, but felt the pitcher difficulty was too high. In two games I had 2 runs and 8 hits. I dropped to 60, and we'll see how it goes.

Hey Dan, I've been giving your sliders a try. Here's a 5 game stats for me in my newly started Rockies Franchise:

                          <iframe width='352' height='425' frameborder='0' src='http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pFLe20s9yWG43C6BcZA82CA&output=html&gid=5& single=true&range=a2:d19'></iframe>

Pretty decent so far. I used your set verbatim with the exception of my own error settings. Funny how the CPU errors are high like this, even tho I have the infield at 0 (which is where all the errors happened).

Your pitch speed is higher than I'm used to, so that explains my dismal hitting...I'm trying to "catch up" but if it doesn't improve I might have to lower the pitch speed a tad. Somewhat worried how that's going to affect the CPU's hitting, which I think is pretty good. Also I'm K'ing the CPU too much, especially with the Rockies mediocre staff. I'm used to a high TCP like you have set, so I think I might go back to the Take Strikes/Balls settings I had set with my Pitch FX settings and see how that effects things.

I like the set overall tho. The 0 power/50 Skill is interesting and still produces pretty realistic offense for the AI. A bit worried by the low HR totals for the AI, but it's only 5 games so those may change. I'll play another 5 games and see what happens and then make a few tweaks.

I love this stuff bah with all the stats against the MLB avgs, keep it coming. Here is a recommendation for you. Try your batting camera as Wide with the Zoom set to 15 clicks from the left. With that camera its much easier to tells balls from strikes and also the pitch speed isn't quite as fast as when your zoomed in more. Let me know how the next few games go.

Yeah, I've been using that same basic camera setting for some time now, it's just a matter of trying to adjust to the faster pitch speed. I've been playing with a setting of 52 since practically the release that even 60 is a big difference when it comes to timing.

Bah, I was thinking of testing out some different hitting sliders for both the human and cpu. I like the 50 for skill but I'm worried if we are seeing to many gappers, but I also like how the skill at 50 is giving a nice solid hits. So here are the scenarios I was thinking of and if you want to test them out also we can come up with a good set for them. Remember I like to use the skill, contact and power add up to 100 thing.

                                Human Batting
                                Skill - 25
                                Contact - 60
                                Power - 15
                                or
                                Skill - 25
                                Contact - 45
                                Power - 30

                                AI Batting
                                Skill - 25
                                Contact - 60
                                Power - 15
                                or
                                Skill - 25
                                Contact - 45
                                Power - 15
