Did you get a HR from someone like Alex Gonzalez or Chris Dickerson?

Someone less capable than Joey Votto or Bruce.

No matter of fact I didnt hit any HRS, the cpu hit 3.
But I did hit the ball really hard a bunch of times, including 5 or 6 warning track outs by my "little" guys.
Like I said with this new set almost every time the cpu made contact they crushed the ball.

I had 7 total k's, Arroyo pitched the first 5.2 inn and had 6 k's.
I only struck out 2 times, I was playing the Brew Crew and Dave Bush pitched.

He allowed 4 runs in 5.2 inn.
I was up 5-4 when I took him out.
The Brewers then lit up Arthur Rhodes and Mike Lincoln.

hey JBH3, i was wondering if you are using these sliders or if you are still using your own set? i can't seem to get a handle on these and I remember really liking the ones you posted on your franchise blog. are you still using those?

I'm still using those. I'm toying w/ them a little to increase the capability to hit HRs w/ my 10-20 capable HR hitters. I love everything else about my sliders though.

I've yet to get one w/ Rollins or Feliz, and have hit only 1 w/ Shane Victorino - through 21 or so games.

Just played my first game with the updated sliders from BFJ...

Yankees (me) 0 vs Braves (cpu) 2

Overall a great game, I had some opportunities to bring across a couple of runs, but botched them, hit into a couple of untimely double plays, and was thrown out at home lol...

Lowe: 8 IP, 8H, 1K

Sabathia: 8 IP, 9H, 2ER, 4K


Braves: 2 R, 8 H, 0 E
Yankees: 0 R, 9 H, 0 E

I had a lot of "dinky" ground ball outs, but I suppose that is to be expected, for my offense was quite "active" while using the previous set (.330 avg according to my VIP Viewer).

Just completed 2nd game, got MUCH more offense this game so, I like that I've had a variety of games (only through 2 mind you).

Yankees (me) 6 vs Tigers (cpu) 3

AJ Burnett: 7.1 IP, 11H, 2ER, 4K
M.Rivera: 1.2 IP, 0H, 1K

J. Bonderman: 4.2 IP, 9H, 5ER

NYY - 6 runs, 14 hits, 2 errors (1 was 1b glitch, first in 13 games)
DET - 3 runs, 11 hits, 0 errors

Had a HUGE first inning, 4 runs on 5 hits, a solo HR and a 2 run shot.

Downside through 2 games, wish I was getting more K's...

I got in 2 games with the updated set last night.

The 1st game I just couldnt hit at all, I lost to the Brewers and Suppan 4-0 with my Reds.
I just couldnt hit anything hard at all, I had 7 hits and the Brewers had 12. They hit 3 HRS and I have now not hit a HR in 7 games now!

The second game I lost again 8-5 (should have been 6-5, stupid 1st base glitch!).
Again the cpu hit 4 HRS and I hit none. With this set if you make a bad pitch the cpu will pound it everytime.

A couple things are really bothering me about this updated set.
1. I can not hardly strike the cpu out at all now.
I was getting about 7-10 K's per game with your last set, now I only get 1 or 2 a game.

2. I can not hit a HR to save my life. I have played 7 games with this set and have yet to hit a HR. I have came close a bunch of times only to have the ball bounce off the wall. With that being said I am still scoring just not with the long ball. I am playing a 162 game season and I dont want my leading HR to hit 10.

3. CPU power is way too high, I think. The thing is it may have to be this high to get the cpu to score on a consistant basis. The only bad thing is it is near impossible for me to get the good marquee players out. The last 2 games vs the Brewers Prince has hit 3 HRS and Braun has hit 4. No matter where I pitch them they crush the ball!

One thing that I wanted to mention is I am still playing with the default rosters. I dont have enternet access therefore I dont have any of the updated living rosters. I wonder if this why my results may be different from yours Joe??

Jake, in reference to CPU Hitting, drop the Success Slider down to 60 & see what happens. Keep dropping Success until you see a little less HR's from the CPU.

As for you hitting HR's, try bumping your Success Slider to 50-55 & see what happens.

As for my stats, I have been On & Off with the game so I can't really say but like many since the last Living Roster my Power #'s have been very low. I will really jump into it more once the Patch hits.

I am toying with a theory of setting the Success Slider @ 50 for both User & AI, then setting the other sliders accordingly.. Hopefully will do some testing of that theory this weekend

I was just wondering whether everyone that uses these sliders uses the right stick to "aim" while batting. I played around with SFGiants sliders and those were based on NOT using the right stick. When coming back to these I found that when I'm not using the stick I am finding it waaaaay to easy to get singles / gappers on pitches anywhere near a decently hittable pitch.

Just completed 3rd game with the Yankees.

Yankees 3 at Cardinals 1

NYY: 3 runs, 11 hits, 1 error (1B glitch )
STL: 1 run, 3 hits, 1 error (legit)

Wang: 9 IP, 3 hits, 1 run (0 ER), 3 K's (Pujols LOOKING, twice...)


Game Notes: Good game overall, hit a 2 run shot with Tex in the 4th. I struck them out only 3 times, 2 of which was Pujols LOOKING. Wang isn't known for a lot of K's, so I suppose I shouldn't be disappointed with that. STL struck me out 4 times.

Pitch count was FAR TOO LOW on both teams, I guess I didn't fish enough with bad pitches? Perhaps that would merit me more K's...?

I have taken the past 2 weeks off to wait for the 2nd patch to come out. (I can only play so many exhibition games) Is version 3 the latest sliders that are still available?
