Re: "OS & BFJ" Present MLB 2K9 Spring Training Sliders
[QUOTE=belljr;2039286278]Ok So I have played about 8 games with these settings. I upped CPU power to 70 and CPU Success to 40 (maybe it is at 40 already).
I have been very please with the offense from my team. Hitting maybe a little too many HR's.
I'm worried about the CPU, I don't feel like I'm ever in trouble. I do work the count a lot and have had guys with horrible late swings for K's on fastballs which is cool.
I need a little more O out of the CPU I think.
Up the success rating?
Have you downloaded the living rosters update?
I am asking because it seems like there is "more offense" by the cpu teams after loading the living rosters update. I have no way to download the living rosters update and I too never get enough offense from the cpu.
I shut down the cpu every game even with bad pitchers.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

For example, if its the 7th, and I go up 1, they will get two off the wall doubles the next inning to tie it, but then can't bring the runner on second home even with all three outs.
Not sure yet, but I'm suspicious.GT: Teambayern5

Re: "OS & BFJ" Present MLB 2K9 Spring Training Sliders
Don't tell me that I've got to start over my franchise using a freaking roster update to get the CPU offense to work...
The living roster I started w/ was the one adding Orlando Cabrera to the A's. I think there has been once since that...Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: "OS & BFJ" Present MLB 2K9 Spring Training Sliders
I was just reading somewhere that the cpu o was nonexistent without the first living roster update.
Since many of us are having problems getting the cpu to hit what should we do to fix this?
I played a game last night using a fifth stater against the Rays and they scored 1 run on 5 this vs me. We need to find the right slider combo to get the cpu to hit better.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

Re: "OS & BFJ" Present MLB 2K9 Spring Training Sliders
I really think the Pitcher Handeness needs to be turned down along with the Pitch Rate Influence. SFGIANT has both of these set at 100, I think we need to turn both of these down to 50.
By the way what does Pitcher Handeness even mean?
We also might want to look into turning down Human and cpu Pitcher composure, these are both set at 100 too. With them set at 100 it is near impossible for the cpu to hit once you get in a groove.Last edited by jake44np; 03-10-2009, 02:27 PM.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

No you should be fine then.

Pitcher handedness effectiveness, IMO, is how effective a righty is against a righty and vice versa for lefties. With it maxed out my interpretation is that a RH Pitcher is at his highest amount of effectiveness vs the batter. I should probably dumb it down even further to 50 and see what happens.
I'll try lowering pitch rate too, and on top of all that I'm going to go back to the 3-step pitching process.
Should be an interesting night of playing.:wink:Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: "OS & BFJ" Present MLB 2K9 Spring Training Sliders
Do you guys think with this value at 50, the CPU would use the individual hitter's ratings vs LH and RH pitchers more than if the slider was at 100? The more player ratings are used the better IMO.Comment

Re: "OS & BFJ" Present MLB 2K9 Spring Training Sliders
I would think ratings would come into play more at 100 BUT maybe that is too effective.

Re: "OS & BFJ" Present MLB 2K9 Spring Training Sliders
On the other hand though...If I move it down to 50 for myself will my hitting become better too?
With it at 100 for the user, my offense is too good.
This crap is confusing man. What was so hard about giving a freaking description of what the sliders manipulate? I mean if you programmed it 2K you should know, and it shouldn't be that hard to include, its just some damn text...Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: "OS & BFJ" Present MLB 2K9 Spring Training Sliders
When I first started with the game I was using 50. I went to 75 and got used to that and after a game with it at 95 I'm now used to that speed. It really doesn't take too long to adapt.Comment

Re: "OS & BFJ" Present MLB 2K9 Spring Training Sliders
Exactly JB. The hitting for both the CPU and USER has gotten a lot better and more realistic for me since I moved the pitch speed to 95. The higher pitch speed has had a significant effect on on the quality of contact made, but you still have to be selective and hit a good pitch.
