Again this is why 2k needs to give us explanations of what exactly the sliders mean

Guys, I think every game will be different no matter where your sliders are at. BFJ, you have the best sliders however, there will be games that are close games and blow outs with 20 hits CPU or Human. I dont think you will get a game thats close everytime like 4-3, 2-1, 5-6 with 6 or 7 hits on both sides

That's what I'm saying the higher the tougher the lower the more the pitcher gets easier to read.

So maybe this needs to be set to 50, which for me is has always been the medium. What ya think?

Below are the scores of the ten games I played, the cpu score is listed 2nd.
1. 2-0
2. 1-0
3. 13-2
4. 1-2
5. 0-2
6. 5-3
7. 2-3 11 innings
8. 1-0
9. 2-3

As you can see the cpu only scored 15 total runs in 9 games!
If you take away the 13 run game I had using the Mets I only scored 13 runs in 8 games.
The ave. score of the 9 games I played was 3 to 1.6, again just not enough offense with these sliders.
Also on most of these games I faced the cpu's no 3 or 4 starter.
jake44np bump the AI Hitting Success Slider to 75 & see how that works

I like them to be more wild meaning not hitting thier spots all the time and missing more so 35 I like but 50 would still be good.

anything lower then 35 = to many meatballs becuase the slider seems to be on how perfect the hit their spots but this also depends on where the other slider are like strike zone.

This is what I have and I get pitched to real good as far as variety goes of pitchers being good or terrible, even the best pitchers have a bad day.

AI Pitch Success: 35
AI Pitch Selection Tendency: 100
AI Strike Zone Tendency: 0<o></o>

AI Pitch Zone Tendency: 0<o></o>
AI Pitcher Composure Influence: 75

Re: "OS & BFJ" Present MLB 2K9 Spring Training Sliders

I am going to play 10 games without adjusting the sliders from where I have them set now.

I am fully convinced that the game has an "offense trigger" built into it that when you start the game, your team will either hit the ball that day or not.

I played to a 0-0 tie going into the ninth inning once again against the Braves, which they broke with a three run ninth, and I lost 3-0.

The next game, I play the Yankees at the new Stadium, and lose 5-4 in the bottom of the ninth. My biggest issue now is that sometimes I start to pitch before the batter is done with their animation in the box, and I end up throwing a fatty down the middle and so far each time I have done it, I have paid dearly. Two guys on in the bottom of the ninth, and Pap throws the mistake and Jeter hits the game winning double in the gap.

I am getting close, but I think my pitch speed requires one more bump up on the power... all my fly balls are dying at the wall.

I will investigate further, but there seems to be a pre-determined factor of how well the team performs on a given day. Of course, if it is just me swinging at Derek Lowe's nasty sinker, and beating the ball into the infield grass all day long... that is not a bad thing either.

Still tweaking.

joe, i assume when you find the right adjustment you will be uploading a version 4 to 2k share ? if so, i look forward to it...i have had a 1-0 win over the reds, with santana, then lost 11-4 with john maine pitching..frustrating but realistic ...

I think even with a patch are slider won't have to change becuase the only thing slider wise is AI Hitting Aggression to be an issues and for me it's not that much of a issue unless I pipe all pitches in the zone but I can't stand every damn batter swinging at 3 and 0 counts this is just stupid lol.

Hard thing about sliders is skill level of the users and you see a lot of sliders put out are almost the same in some areas.

I totally agree about Pitch Success. I too noticed @ 0 the AI would leave too many pitches over the plate & throw a large amount of balls. That's why I changed my to 40, which feels good right now

Nice work with this set.. I''ve been trying all bunch of sets, but enjoyed this one. Also nice to see Carlos Lee draw a 4 pitch walk with Bourne on the basepaths..

Good work bf..

BFJ...I've been using your Spring Training V.2 set w/ edits to mine and CPU hitting.

Now that I've played a few games I want to see more walks by me the user. What should I adjust? Pitch meter speed? Gesture Recognition?

I wouldnt mess with your pitch sliders, I think you nailed them pretty well.

Are you and the AI getting too many hits?

The AI pitching sliders are as of your V.2 spring training sliders, but my question was in reference to seeing more balls as the user pitcher...w/o having to purposely throw them myself. What sliders would a change to give me less control, and make user pitching harder?

Also...would lowering "Pitcher Handedness Influence" help to increase the quality of CPU hitting? With this slider at 100 doesn't it max out the effectiveness of lefties vs lefties etc?
