I am enjoying the game with these sliders. As soon as I got it I put these in and the games is fun. Maybe I am just starved for baseball, or just not tough enough as a critic?

I just set it to where the pitcher fatigues a little slower. Thanks a lot for these!

Also had 8 K's in my first game as Ian Snell, 3 looking!

Well after complaining that I have no offense production in this game, I finally found my stride. I'm using V3 sliders with Catcher calling the pitches ON.

        Sox(ME) 12
        Angels 1

        Ortiz had 3 HR
JD Drew had 2 HR (1 being a Grand Slam)

All but 1 HR was using the Left stick.

Brad Penny pitched a complete game.. About 80 pitches.

One thing I've noticed (as well as a poster on the previous page I believe) is that when you use the left stick you have to wait a split second longer or you will make horrible contact.

This holds true especially when pushing up on the stick. Go into practice and try waiting a hair longer than you usually do (again this is if you're having trouble hitting) and you will notice the different sound when you hit the ball.

          On a side note,

With the latest set I found it a bit too easy to hit for good solid contact. However, with the last set I had (which was like 40 for success, 35 contact, 60 power) I couldn't hit for beans. That one click up on contact completely changed the hitting game for me.

Maybe it was a 3 game fluke, we shall see tonight.

Playing a game with these sliders right now and overall they are good, but it's too easy to pickoff AI runners and the AI fielder speed seems like it might be a bit too high.

That's about the only thing I would suggest changing so far. Thanks for all your hard work on these Joe

            EDIT:

Here are the adjustments I made:

            Pickoff Success: 0
            AI Fielder Speed: 50

Appreciate your efforts, but I'm still having a hell of a time with the pitching.

I took the mound with Sabathia and noticed his fastball was topping out around 92-94ish, I tried throwing changeups on the corners-outside corners, fastballs away, sliders down and in..and they wouldn't budge on anything. I was pretty much forced to come near the zone with offspeed stuff and they'd make contact 99% of the time.

I'm doing exactly everything I should be doing (throwing waste pitches high up in the zone and trying to drop a curve/slider afterwards..and absolutely nothing)

^^ Wish I was having those troubles.

I'm playing as the Braves and have yet to have any sort of steady offensive production on the AI's part. They swing at my junk off the plate all the time and rarely get more than 1 or 2 extra base hits in a game (and that's if they are creaming me lol)

I'm still looking for a way to make it extremely hard to pitch accurately (like the way composure actually makes me not able to pinpoint each pitch)

Re: "OS & BFJ" Present MLB 2K9 Spring Training Sliders

Alright, finished my first game with V3.0 (with the two tweaks I mentioned above)

I was the Cubs and beat the Dodgers:

                  Dodgers: 0 6 0
                  Cubs: 3 10 1

I had a couple doubles, but other than that, all the other hits for both teams were singles. Seems like the AI could use some more power, and perhaps the human power could be increased a tad too, but I'll have to play a few more games to see if I can hit with any more power. My number of hits seemed good, but maybe a wee bit more power would be more realistic.

AI pitching seemed really good. I watched a good amount of balls go by, worked the count to full several times, and walked once (could've walked more if I had been more patient though).

Even with the Pickoff Success at 0, it's still WAY TOO EASY to pickoff the AI baserunners Seems to be a bug in the game and not something we can fix with sliders, so I'm not going to even try picking them off any more because I was able to pickoff almost every Dodger that got on base, which is one of the reasons why I shut them out.

Overall, these sliders are really good, but the main thing I think needs adjusted is the AI needs a bit more offense perhaps.

can some one tell me how to turn off the bat icon when i'm batting
                    it is very distracting.

                    Thanks

Yeah you pretty much have to institute some kind of "house rules" when it comes to pickoffs, as they are horribly broken and no sliders can fix them.

                      Here are my house rules;

3 attempts at picking off the runner at 1st per game
0 (zero) attempts to pick off 2nd base runner
1 pickoff attempt to 3rd base to try and get the runner.

Now I do allow myself pitchouts to try and get someone who I think is going to steal, just like a true strategy would have you do, and I also snap a throw over to 1st after a pitch every once in a while. I haven't gotten anyone like that yet, but it looks cool.

I don't have the guts to dive for a ball in the OF yet. Fielding is an adventure to me. Even routine grounders as I never know if the 1B foot will be on the bag or not

I got nailed two runners in the last game by just snapping it over to first quickly......I know Zambrano is good at picking off in real life, but it just seems like the runners dive back in semi slow motion

WOW thanks for the advice. I'm playing with OS/BFJ sliders. I'm the Cubs. First 3 games...zero HRs vs the Astros. I started pushing up on the L-stick when my power hitters are up. 4 HRs, 2 by ARam, 2 by Bradley already against the Brewers. Granted it was against Jeff Suppan and David Riske haha. I never realized how much difference the L-Stick made.
