    Really.

I got the impression when toying around w/ that slider before, that the CPU, above 40, was throwing more & more strikes. Thus lessening my attempts to draw walks.

So you've still seen a fair amount of balls, and walks w/ it higher than 40?

Yes. IMO I've seen a more realistic amount of balls with it higher than 40. Again IMO pitchers don't go 3-0, 3-1, 3-2 in real life as much as they do with 40 Success 10 Strike 25 Zone Setting.

Give it a test & see how it goes

        Joe,

So you're saying these settings are not realistic?

You said pitchers in real life don't go to 3-0 in real life as often as they do with the settings at 40 Success 10 Strike 25 Zone Setting.

That is exactly what I said in a post on this thread.

If you're saying those settings are unrealistic because they create more 3-0 counts than they realistically should, why don't you adjust them?

I am fine with 3-ball counts, but a 3-0 count 3/4 of the time before the AI even throws a strike isn't realistic, a lot of those balls should be coming with 2 strikes and not with no strikes.

          Will give it a go.

If it lessens my ability to get hits I'll run w/ it.

recentiy03, these are more of a base set for people to tweak to their liking. Some people like the pitch count these generate for the AI.

Also remember everyone has different play styles.

OK, well, do you have any suggestions as to how I can adjust your settings in order to keep the pitch count up and make the balls come on 0-2 counts or 1-2 counts instead of only coming on fresh counts or in situations where there are no strikes? Or better yet, where it is varied and not so predictable?

Move the Success Slider up (no higher than 75)
Move the Zone Tendency up (no higher than 75)

this should help you achieve what your looking for

BFJ so you moved the CPU pitcher settings?

I only moved the 3 things I mentioned.

Just curious as to where your at.

I haven't made any changes yet. (waiting for the PATCH) What I am suggesting is people move the AI Pitch Success Slider up if they feel they are still getting too many hits, instead of lower the USER Hitting Sliders.

My experience is moving the AI Pitch Success Slider up makes the AI Pitching more challenging, yet you still get good pitch counts & a little more realistic balls/strike ratio.

Cool thanks. I really enjoy the game haven't really checked out any other sliders, I know I used yours from the past I even think from BBSC days.

I'll check that out, do we have a list of default legend around?

I didn't realize it, but yea..."Batting Pitch Influence" I still had maxed out at 100 when I posted those sliders, it wasn't a typo. Still got good results though w/ it maxed out...

Unfortunately I'm having the same results when it comes to getting too many hits. Playing as the Royals I've started to lose games, go figure. I've lost two in a row vs CLE, being outscored 7-5 & 7-4 respectively. In both games I out hit CLE by 4 and 5 hits, see below:

                        CLE 7 9 0
                        KC 5 13 1CLE 7 14 0
                        KC 4 19 2

I probably would've had more runs too if I was playing as the Phillies, given all of their power. Since playing as KC I've managed two HRs in 3 games: 1 w/ Mike Jacobs, and 1 w/ Mike Aviles (vs a lefty).

My next guess for lessening my user hits w/ my sliders is dropping user batting success to 40, and wiping out contact to 0. Then upping user power to 80, and going up from there if need be.

I've wiped out the hit direction slider, and have that set batters eye off now. I'm not going to use the left stick at all either.

Might drop to pitch speed to 90 too, but that's probably as low as I'll go on that slider.

                        What do you think?
What about upping cpu pitcher success?
Also how has your pitching been?
It seems my pitchers are a bit too good.

I'm going to up CPU pitcher succes, and I'm going max out user pitch meter speed and cut user pitch rating down to 50 - that should make my pitches less effective I'm assuming...?
