There's "Inside Edge Batting Zone Influence"

    AND

    "Zone Hitting Influence"

Someone already mentioned it, but you thought they were referring to the IE batting zone slider.

I would imaginie the "Zone Hitting Influence" slider is crucial to your set.<o></o>
If I knew what Zone Hitting Influence meant, I'd probably be able to put a decent value to it.
As it stands, I'd keep it at default.

I don't know exactly what it means, but after watching it change when cycling through difficulty levels it appears that the higher the setting, the more it benefits the user. On Legend ZHI is set at 30, with the value increasing as you move to All-Star, then Pro and finally on Rookie where I believe it's close to 100.

So based on that, I would guess that ZHI affects the amount of reward you get for lining up the sweet-spot of the cursor with the ball. This lines up with my brief experience with zone hitting, as the set I was using had it at 30 (Legend equivalent) and I wasn't noticing much of a difference when I had things lined up (or thought I did anyways)...

Honestly, I don't know if any of these "questionable" sliders really have any affect whatsoever. As it stands, I would keep this at 50.

Uh, NO. I'm using cursor hitting with the aforementioned little bat cursor.

Sandmac, that's fine. Maybe you're a video game God. But from what I recall, holding up on the left stick when using cursor hitting does nothing but move your cursor higher in the zone, kiddo. And 100 pitch speed using cursor hitting??? Ok there, guy.

Anyway, for those who are using my sliders, I made a few updates this morning. Feel free to try em out.

I think this is a valid explanation and should be reflected on your sliders.

I think 60 or so might be a good spot for it. I had it at 75 for a game or two and was smacking the ball around to tune of 10 runs on 15 hits -- with the Pirates of all people! I then played a game as Oakland with it at 50, managing only 3 runs on 4 hits, one of which was a 3-run HR on a get-it-over fastball when I was ahead in the count (3-0 or 3-1). I did move the user batting success down a bit for the second game, but I think the zone hitting influence played a big part as well...

Yeah, I feel like I'm close now. Honestly, at this point, the only thing I may change is lowering Human Batting Success to 55, but not sure yet. I'm having very competitive games with these sliders.

I wanna say I plugged these in and have been using them for 35 games..... These are by far the best sliders I have EVER used. They are very sim. I have homered with nearly every guy in the lineup (except Wily Taveras) and they homer totals are realistic.

The scores are just as likely to be 2-0 or 4-0 as they are an 11-8 slugout.

Great job on these, and saving my purchase of this game. Great work. I have tested all the sliders on this site and these are BY FAR the finest

re: Padgoi's Post-Patch Cursor Hitting Sliders

I have been using these for several games and must say it greatly improves the game over the default settings. However, my biggest complaint is that there is too much offense. My games are close (within a run or two at the end), but with very bloated scores (i.e. 11-10, 8-6, and although not close, 20-10). I am playing with the Tigers who have great offensive potential and poor pitching but still. Cabrera and Ordonez each have 8 HRs through 5 games. I have tried dropping power, batting success, and contact 10-15 pts, and I upped the pitch speed, but still not much luck.

What can I do to get more pitchers duels and lower scores? Some of the sliders don't even make sense to me as to what they are for. I am sure there is a post about this already which I will be seeking out.

EDIT: One other thing thats allowing me big time offense is that the AI pitchers always throw outside. I basically sit on an outside pitch (guess high or low) and if its there, smack it. How can I force the CPU to use more variety in pitch location?
