Hey I have been enjoying your sliders lately. I am however striking out a bit too much and what slider do you think I need to adjust? Also I have not been putting up a decent amount of home run numbers either. What sliders should i adjust to help that?

Pitch speed is too fast, no doubt about it. Slow it down, you'll see your numbers jump.

Well, a nice 15-9 start with the Red Sox, and the cursor hitting is just too fun. I have my pitching sliders all maxed at 100 for gesture, release, etc... with regards to timing, and I am using the old 2k8 three gesture style, so when things get a little hariy in the late innings, you had better get the bullpen ready to go.

One thing I have noticed is there are no measurements for Homeruns this year. Odd, but certainly not that big a deal. I hit the longest homerun in any video game ever with Mike Lowell the other night, who sat on a 3-0 fastball and launched the ball at Fenway. The ball went over the top off the wall directly above the cameras sitting in dead center at the Fen. Not the wall the cameras are sitting atop, the wall ABOVE the cameras. Easily getting towards the 460-480 foot range. When you get that cursor centered, and the timing is right on, the ball just gooooes. Very much rewarding, and the fact that it is not very often that it happens, is even better.

Wow! This is great info. I just found it. I have played a lot of real baseball and am a true fan of cursor hitting because just timing any pitch regardless of location is far from realistic. If you hit under a ball, it should go in the air. If you hit the top of the ball, it should go on the ground. Cursor hitting mimics real baseball as much as possible. I do have one question. I am using both sticks to hit, not the classic setup. I hate the inability to check my swing but the only reason i use the right stick is that i believe there is a boost in power because of it. Is this true? Or will Padgoi's setting negate the need to use total control hitting?

I don't think that is the case because I have it at 55 right now.

I still think your pitch speed is too fast if you're having those problems, but you can also try lowering CPU Pitch Success.

I have my pitch speed at 45 now and pitch success at 20 and I struck out 12 times against the orioles first starter.

Make sure User Batting Contact is at 100.
And practice.
At pitch speed 45, you should not be striking out that much. Are you using classic controls or total control batting? I use classic controls (Button batting). Using total control batting and cursor hitting is extremely difficult. I strongly suggest using classic hitting controls if you're going to use cursor hitting.

Yep classic but the thing is, it is so hard to practice because the batting practice game mode only throws pitches right down the middle. But don't get me wrong, these sliders are probably the best I have used.

I'm actually probably going to be posting some updates to the sliders tomorrow as pitching has become very easy for me. My team ERA is about 1.50. Furthermore I'm also not hitting nearly enough homers to be considered realistic. Look out for my updates tomorrow or this weekend. Glad I could help you enjoy the game.

New slider adjustments have been made in the first post! Please take a look, the new adjustments focus on more AI Offense, more User homeruns, more AI errors, CPU stolen bases not being automatic, overall increased realism.

Let me know what you guys think!

My first game was awesome. I was playing as the Mets against the Yankees in a Santana Sabathia showdown. Early in the game, Sabathia had a perfect game going in the 5th until Sheff got a base hit. It was tied at 0 until the 6th when I let up a triple to Damon and then a go ahead run from a base hit. In the 8th, the Yankees took out Sabathia for Phil Coke and I was able to capitalize on that getting 3 straight hits, and then a go ahead RBI double from a pinch-hitting Tatis. That tied the game at 1 and they Reyes hit a sac fly which drove in the go ahead run. K-Rod came in in the ninth and shut the door.

I only struck out 5 times but it was because I didn't up the pitch speed from 45.

Final Score: Mets 2 - Yankees 1
Hits: Mets 5 - Yankees 5
Home runs: Mets 0 - Yankees 0
Strikeouts: Mets 5 - Yankees 9

If you're still getting that many strikeouts against the CPU, try raising the CPU Contact to 40.
Also, when hitting, focus on getting the batting cursor under the ball to hit the ball in the air, could lead to more homers.

Hey Padgoi, I just started trying cursor hitting today and am using your sliders. I have played 4 games as the Reds with scores of L 3-1, L 7-1, L 7-4, and W 4-3. The first three were against the Mets and the last one against the Pirates. I am liking these but i have only hit one HR as a team.

Now i am 4th in the league in avg but ranked towards the bottom in runs and last in HRs. What are some tips to get more powerful hits using cursor hitting. I am using pitch speed at 90 but i like it that high, as anything lower seems way too slow compared to real life.
