    mkharsh,

Just wanted to chime in and say I am still going strong with these sliders, finished first half of season with braves with a 7 game lead in east. Had 5 allstars: P-Hanson, C-McCann, SS-Gonzalez, 2B-Weeks, CF-Upton

1st 2 games back from all star break i lose 2 starters ti injury, Hanson for 10 days and Teheran for 60 days!! ouch, will be tough to keep wins coming.

    Having a blast!!

This! If you do this, you will have more success, and get more pitches to hit.

I have innings were I'm patient, but then I turn into an idiot and start swinging at the 1st or 2nd pitch. I get mad at myself for chasing bad pitches, realizing I just turned a potential 2-0 count into an 0-2 count. then the whole at-bat gets changed. Again, it's about patience!

Man, this is totally me too. I throw away at-bats with Utley like it's my job just because I get lazy, lose focus and swing at bad pitches. You really gotta stay locked in with this set to get production.

Me too, lol. There is something about men in scoring position that gives me an itchy button finger. My RISP ave. is 4th in the NL, but I would bet I lead the MLB in K's in that situation also.

If I had a nickel for every time I had 2 on with 0 outs and failed to score a run I'd be rich. What's crazy is that I work the count with my lesser hitters, and then when my big guns get up I'll take a pitch and then swing at the next one knowing that it's probably not going to be a great one because I'm not in a great hitter's count yet. My achilles heel is swinging away 1-1 or 2-1. The CPU won't give in on those counts, but I do .

Yeah, so many times I will have one of my power hitters up, with men on 1st and 2nd and get owned by the CPU. What usually happens is I am thinking this dude isnt gonna give me anything on the first pitch, so I take and he grooves one down the middle. Then I lose my composure and swing at the next two pitches that are out of the strikezone.

Taking pitches is key! I have noticed such a variety in hits that it is sick with these sliders. I doubt I have ever hit the ball in the same place with the same hitter more than twice it feels with these sliders.

Power numbers are the most realistic I think I have ever seen for a console baseball game. You really do need to work the counts and play small ball, ect. to win which makes the realism at least for me legit.

Thank you MK for these and your work on the roster set is very much appreciated as well.

                    Thanks!

I will probably be dropping a new roster file late tonight. I've been working on some things, and there was some stuff from the last file that I've fixed (that I didn't like after later reviewing it). Has a few more MLB callups on it and will be the best to date. Plays great with these sliders. Be sure to check my other thread later tonight (very late) for details.

MK, meant to tell you before but didnt get around to it. Love these sliders. Great gameplay with lots of hit variety. The AI pitching is also fantastic with these, although I've lowered their pitch speed by a click to make it a bit easier for me

The only issue I still have with gameplay is the fact that I still see too many lineouts to the infielders, but I think thats more of a game issue and nothing sliders can really help. Again, thanks so much for your sliders.

Oh ya, and your latest rosters were excellent too. Good to see alot of MLB players adjusted

                      Thanks alot dude.

Just played an insanely fun game. Play now game.

Wednesday's Padres (cpu) at Giants (me) matchup. I won 2-1 on a walkoff homer by Aaron Rowand off Heath Bell (deep shot to right).

Padres took a 1-0 lead on a Maybin single in the top 3rd. I tied it in the bottom of the 4th with an RBI single by Tejada.

I ran into trouble in the top of the 7th. Baumgarner (who had pitched a gem) gave up a walk and a single to right putting runners at the corners and no outs. Brought Affeldt in and the pitcher tried a suicide squeeze. Perfect throw to home by Affeldt and nailed him at the plate. Padres still have 2 on and 1 out. Got back to back fly outs to end the inning.

Game tied heading into the bottom of the 9th for Rowand's blast.

                          Padres: 1 run, 8 hits, 0 errors
                          Giants: 2 runs, 7 hits, 0 errors

Sergio Romo gets the win (2 IP, 1 hit, 2 K's) and Heath Bell takes the loss. Mosely pitched well for the Padres as did Baumgarner (6 IP, 7 hits, 4 BB, 2 K's) for the Giants.

Followed that game with something I had not seen to date...

Played yesterday's Rockies (cpu) at Braves (me) matchup. All teams lineups were exactly like the real game.

I was up 6-0 and Jurrjens was cruising. Heading into the top of the 9th he had a 4-hit shutout going. I gave up back to back solo homers, but still leading 6-2. All hell broke loose and I could get 2 outs but then Matt Pagnozzi (yes, that guy) hit a 2-run homer to tie it at 6. I brought Kimbrel in to finish the game (struck out Giambi who was pinch-hitting). Game tied at 6 - Jurrjens left going 8.2 ip, 9 hits (5 in the top of the 9th), 1 BB, and 10 K.

BUT, they brought in Street and I was able to get to him. back to back hit (moving the runner at 1st to 3rd) and then McCann got a sac fly to deep left (LF had to run backwards and had no chance) to win it 7-6.

Couldn't believe what the Rockies did in that 9th inning as I was cruising along. Jurrjens threw 97 pitches before leaving. Kimbrel got the win, throwing 3 pitches (LOL!). Fun game, but really ticked me off.

Also, the Nationals are a blast to play with now. Just started up a franchise with them and ended up losing 2-0 to the Braves, but it was an amazing game and I almost rallied in the 9th. Cant wait to play more games with them
