Love the work you do mkharsh. Use your sliders in NBA too, looking forward to dling your new rosters later and seeing how you treated my Mets .

These sliders make the game so fun im having a blast. They made me swear off total control hitting and go button hitting loving the hit variety. Just some thoughts:

I've never thrown out a CPU base stealer maybe i suck any tips or have you thought of adjusting those sliders

The outfielders never make diving catches or need to dive for any balls. Not sure how often that occurs IRL but it is the only thing missing imo. Im guessing if you lowered OF speed it would disrupt hits per game so i dont wanna touch it myself any ideas

And lastly there arent many close plays at first with speedy guys running out singles. Every grounder i feel like i can take it easy and dont have to get near a perfect throw on the meter to throw out a runner, it would be nice if for example when victorino is up and hits a grounder to third i had to nail the meter just to get him and risk an error if i miss. I thought about lower IF arm strength but would rather let someone else touch it.

The only minor change i made is upping user power from 50 to 55 for a little more homers. I had hit one with daniel murphy that felt great, hit a bunch with ike davis everyone else it falls just short of the fence when i felt it should of gone out. Thank you for making this hobby that more enjoyable appreciate your work

Its damn annoying. The swing itself doesnt look realistic at all either its almost like this one handed golf club swing.
I had this happen with disturbing frequency too. In one game vs. the Yankees I saw three different hitters smack beautiful pitches shin high on the outside black for huge homeruns. At that point, I lowered the CPU hitting to 45 contact and 75 power. That seems to work better for me.

I love your slider so far with my RedSox franchise!
However, I am suffering too many HRs from AI about 2~3 per game.
I reduce the CPU Betting Power to 70 and it remains the same.
In your suggestion, should I lower it to 65 or even lower?

move your pitches around...change speeds. change up using the pitching inside and outside the circle and read what the pitches do. you don't want to dummy down the cpu too much or the game will no longer be fun because the more you play the better you'll get.

I often give up HRs around the bottom outside corner. Is it because I throw pitches to that location too often?
            Thx alot
I ll give it a try cause I get frustrated with my SU and CL with 18.00+ ERA...

Hey MK I see ur final settings is HUM 35 Contact, I may be wrong but I thought I saw alot of your slider sets were having this number between 20-30.......If I am correct why did you change it to 35 as final, I have finally come to the realization that Classic hitting is better because my power swings were becoming all HR's, fly outs or foul outs.............that got boring, sadly enough I was 73 games into my season lol, now I finally changed and my last 2 games were fun but I had only 3 K's and 5 K's when im usually striking out 7-10 times and a ton of hits, hits that looked like I would just be using the contact swing and I had only 1 HR, but thats ok for me since I was stacked on HR's thru my first 73 games.

Sorry for the rant, my main 2 questions are, do you see too many hits at 35 contact and not enough Human K's, also do you see HR's from lesser power people

PMO - 35 is basically a necessity because with anything lower you won't see many foul balls. At 35 you can have some solid matchups against the pitcher and the other night I had an 11 pitch at-bat in which I fouled off 5 consecutive pitches. At 25 you would typically strike out or hit a weak grounder.

Wow I actually just had an 11 pitch at bat in which I finally got a line drive single with David Wright, 1st time ive ever gotten a 10+ pitch at bat ever (reason I know is because I got the achievement after the game ha ha ha)

hey mk, speaking of foul balls, I'm just curious, about how many fouls does the cpu hit off you a game? Also, how many pitches would you say on average you throw a game?

Just finished an amazing MLB Today game. Playing as Boston at Philly, it was a pitchers' duel between Lee and Beckett. Beckett went 7 innings, allowed just 1 run on 3 hits and retired 15 batters in a row at one point.

I had to pull him in the 8th for a pinch hitter because Lee was dominant. He took a shutout into the 9th but wound up taking the loss as he gave up a game-winning 2-run HR to Youkilis. Pap closed down the Phils in the bottom of the inning for the save.

I hadn't played this or any game in six days due to my vacation. It was nice to come back home and play one of the better games I've played all year.

MK, these sliders are money! Played another great MLB Today game; White Sox (CPU) @ Rockies (me). I won 7-2 thanks to a huge day by Ty Wigginton, who had 4 RBIs.

Came back to these after working on lower sliders and using batter's eye to track pitches. First franchise game back I went back to back with Utley and Howard, and hit a dinger with Rollins who was on a cold streak and had 53 power lol.

I still had that one inning where the opposition managed to pull out like 5 hits and 3 runs (I always seem to give up a big inning somewhere), but I'll learn to pitch up to the set again.

Using these sliders, how many pitches do you guys usually throw? I often find with other sliders that it is very easy for me to get to the 8th or 9th innning with my starting pitcher only throwing 80 or so pitches.

You are way better than me, my friend . I have a very difficult time getting to the 6th inning without having thrown 75 pitches, and I use the Phillies! I think I probably try to paint the black more than pitch to contact, though.

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K11 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching

MK like I said in an earlier post I have now switched to classic hitting after 73 games in my Mets chise, I have now played 3 games with classic hitting and have won all 3 and they have been fun but...........first b4 I say why, I have alot of HR's on my team, and im used to a lot of hard smashes, after these 3 games I have just 1 HR with Ike Davis, and only 2 times including that HR have I ever even heard the loud smash of the bat hit, is this normal or am I just on a lil cold streak here?

I really dont wanna go back to total control batting as I strike out way too much batting that way as well as foul and pop out a lot, but with not seeing much power at all even hard hit smashes I may have to

                                whats ur opinion man?
