I find it funny that some people want every game to play out the way THEY want it to. For example, I played as detroit the other night and had Verlander pitching. I got knocked around early - just couldn't find it. I eventually settled down but ended up giving up 5 runs in 7 innings. sometimes that stuff happens...

Exactly, same has happen to me with braves staff, sometimes on, sometimes not, I really think people want it to play out that they win all the time, that's what rookie mode is for.

I have made some trades to get a kick-*** lineup I must say, I lost some vets and some young talent, but thinking of making something that will last for several years.

        C - McCann
        1B - Freeman
        2B - Weeks
        SS - Gonzalez
3B - McGehee and Jones playing every other game
        LF - Prado
        CF - Upton
        RF - Heyward

        Rotation:
        Hanson
        Jurrgens
        Hudson
        Minor
        Teahran

Got a 8 game lead in East just before allstar break, but june I am under .500
We shall see, got interleague play up next against rangers and jays.

Exactly. It's realistic and it's all part of the ebb & flow of a 162 game season. I've been able to dominate games with these sliders and, likewise, I've been dominated by the CPU. That makes me hungrier to do better and come up with a better gameplan on the mound and take better ABs.

I think you know how I have felt about classic hitting. Well, I think I am about to change my mind for good. I am finding it to be a much more rewarding mode. Basically the opposite of what I have said about it.

I think the swing stick can work as a good mode. But I would need much more information about how the devs intend it to be used, or a lot more testing. And if I could get check swings called fairly instead of a every single one being a strike, I might try.

But for now, I have to admit I was wrong. The classic swing is pretty darn great. I'm glad I gave it a fair chance.

For anyone wondering about power with lower powered players, I just had a game where I gave up a opposite field hr to Elvis Andrus using King Felix. Dude's got, like, 40 power. So it can definetely be done.

I'm definitely not hitting as many as I would like, but in a 4-2 loss to the Brewers I went yard with the Cardinals' Tyler Greene. His HR in the 7th put me up 2-1, only to surrender a second HR to Prince Field, but this time a three-run shot.

It was a hell of a game.

Like I said, it was more the (lack of) hit variety and lack of ability to power swing more than anything. No need to get defensive...some sliders aren't for everyone.

Three words for you; Small. Sample. Size.

I'm not getting defensive, honestly I couldn't care less; but you never even gave them a chance before coming to the conclusion that there was a "lack of hit variety". In one game. Many of us are seeing a pretty good hit variety....and many of us have played a lot of games with this set.

Funny thing is, I think there's a ton more hit variety with classic. The the stick, everything seems to be up the middle - fielded by the 2B, SS, or hit to Left-Center to Right Center.

There's far more hit variety with these on classic hitting than in any other game out there. The ball can literally be hit anywhere at any different level of velocity and arch.

yes!! I have played over 30 games with the final set, and seeing all kinds of different hits, Hr's, pop ups, fly outs, foul balls, grounders, broken bats, etc. It's freaking awesome. Also, I am seeing all different types of games, pitching duels, blow-outs.. I can not stop playing, have not played nba 2k in a few weeks, and that is a great game as well. If madden and ncaa deliver this year, I do not know what I m going to do?????

I just played today's Brewers (me) at Cubs (cpu) matchup.

I lost 7-5. I was up 5-1 (homers by Fielder and Hart) before Tyler Colvin hit a 3-run homer in the bottom of the 8th. Fielder went 3-4 with a homer and 2 doubles. Randy Wolf petered out on me late and when I brought in Hawkins he served up the bomb to Colvin who was pinch-hitting. Sigh...

I'm still seeing GREAT hit variety, even today hitting a slow roller past the 1st Baseman that stayed fair rolled slowly down the line. Commentary called it and was kinda neat. LOVING this game!!

ultimate lazy person question, which i am sure has been asked a few times throughout this thread. are these sliders thrown up on 2kshare?
