I got absolutely rocked by Toronto. I was Cleveland. They hit 3 HRs, 1 of which was a grand slam by Corey Patterson. Carmona didn't make it past the 2nd inning.

Might have to up user pitch control. Part of my struggle might have been itches going everywhere and not where I spotted them. I'll test some more, I might have been a fluke. CpU power that game makes me nervous.

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K11 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching

Using the sliders on page 1 - post 1 (but with cpu batting power at 80) I played Friday's Phillies (me) at Mets (cpu) game. I lost 2-1.

Capuano (mets) had me off balance and I hit a lot of ground ball outs. Solo homer by Ryan Howard was my only offense.

Oswalt pitched for me. I was concerned as I gave up 5 hits in the first two innings. I didn't give up another hit the rest of the game. I pulled him in the 8th for a pinch hitter (I had 2 on and 1 out, but grounded into an inning ending double-play). Baez and Bastardo finished out.

Both teams finished with 5 hits apiece. Was a fun, low scoring pitchers duel. Fun stuff!

(so the 50 cpu contact and 80 cpu power and user pitch control 25 is nothing to be afraid of once you get this game down).

One update I made personally, but NOT noted on page 1: I upped CPU throwing errors back to 55. Now I'm not seeing any...

I think set you had before most recent changes was solid, did you look into stealing base Issue for cpu and human too make a bit more realistic and even. Adjustments I made and posted seem to have helped, no one else seeing this issue where cpu is almost always safe, and user tagged out almost always? Batting sliders seemed already perfect for me, nice mix of hits on both sides, home runs not too much and by different players. I like pitch control at 25-30 also, have to hit marks or it will be hard to get strikes. I'm on 2 game losing streak, brewers give me so much trouble for some reason, they beat me 4-2 in back to back games with grienke and wolf. Got final game to try avoiding sweep. Might go to a play every 3rd game now that sliders seem final to me, and time constraints.

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K11 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching

Hey guys- I just got the game and have played through 3 games. They've been close, but it seems like I'll get guys in scoring position and strand them, or hit the occasional homer. I'm giving up too many hits to the CPU too. I try to hit the corners, but I'm not locating the pitches. I don't max the meter every time. Oh, and this is with classic hitting and pitching.

Should I increase user pitch control and user contact until I get the timing down? I'm usually late on fastballs and then too early on offspeed stuff. I'm thinking if I had a little more time to read the pitch then maybe I won't be late on them and could actually pull some hits.

Oh, and does anybody have batting camera settings other than default that you think helped you hit better? I've just left it at default for now. Wondering if people think there's an easier setting that might help me hit better. Maybe it's just a matter of playing a ton of games before I get the hang of it?

I'm not seeing any issues with base stealing. I can throw guys out with my catcher, and I see the CPU get steals as well. The key is seeing it happen and reacting quickly.

I stole a base (my only attempt) last night with Domonic Brown (Philly). And he was safe by a mile. I stole on an 2-0 count and it was a fastball low and way outside. Catcher had no chance.

The latest slider set plays better, IMO. I really don't foresee any more changes coming.

I don't use classic pitching, so I can't help you there.

I use the default batting camera, but I zoom in +1 (I think it's 6, but can't recall the number.). All other cameras are default.

Cool, I will stick with 1st page, will post here if see anything that is not consistent. Also, I can post feedback here and results using these sliders, I really agree that these should be final, or very very close, thats with playing numerous games now with set.

Ok, thanks, I'll try out the camera setting and play a few more games to see if I get the hang of it more before changing the sliders.

                    Wow. Just wow.

I've played four games today, going 2-2.

First game- Roy Halladay completely shut me down. Thats all there is to say really. I had three hits on the game, losing 3-0.

Second game- Big Z completely shut down the Phils, allowing only two hits through six. He struggled in the seventh with his control, giving up three hits, but fought through it unscathed. Angel Guzman came in to close it out, giving up only two more hits in the final two innings. I won 6-0.

Third game- Garza held the Brew Crew to two runs on six hits through six. Guzman, Marshall, and Marmol closed out the final three allowing only one run on a solo shot by Prince Fielder off of Marshall. But the Cubbie offense was the main headline, absolutely blowing up for 22 runs on 25 hits, highlighted by a 12 run fourth inning. Sergio Mitre was chased in the third after allowing two in the first and four in the third. Tyler Colvin went 4-6 in the four spot, with seven RBI, three runs, and two two run doubles. Aramis Ramirez went 4-6 with five RBI and three runs, with two doubles and a two run HR. Soto also had a two run shot of his own. Final was 3-22.

Fourth Game- Nail-biter from hell. Cubs scratched one across in both the thrid and the fourth to take a 2-0 lead against Phil Hughes and the Yankees. Casey Coleman shut down the Yanks through six, until he gave up two solo shots to A.Rod and Granderson to tie it up in the seventh. Wood and Marshall kept it locked up into the top of the tenth, when Jeff Samardzija allowed back to back doubles to give the Yankees the lead. In the bottom of the tenth Darwin Barney got a single against Mariano Rivera and moved to third on a ground out and sac fly. Tyler Colvin came up and fought the count to 2-2 when Mark Teixeira saved the game diving for a grounder down the first base line to get the out. I lost, 3-2.

These sliders are great mk. The difference from game to game is great, you never really know how a pitcher will pitch or a hitter will hit from one day to the next. I've had Ryan Dempster get chased in the second by a bad lineup one start but shut down a good lineup the next. I've had Colvin go 0-4 against a bad pitcher one day and light up a good starter for 3-4 the next.

The only minor gripe I have is the base stealing, which has already been brought up. With user catcher sliders at 99, and Soto's arm sliders at 99, Casey McGehee, with a speed of 67, stole second on an 88 mph pitch, and it wasn't even close. I had the throw loaded up before Soto caught the ball so he threw it as soon as possible, and the throw was a dead strike to second. That is ludicrous. Especially when my guys with 85+ speed rarely make it with CPU catcher sliders at 0 and the catcher having arm sliders in the 70s.

My last 2 games have been ugly, ofcourse I am playing best 2 teams in NL so far Brewers and Phillies.

Brew crew beat me 5-1 - Grienke
Phillies beat me 3-0 - Oswalt

so i'm still trying decide which sliders to go with, i'm leaning towards yours right now due to the amazing amount of positive feedback ive heard.

do these sliders work if i use the right stick to hit, or do you have to use contact hitting?

I know at least a couple guys use these sliders with TC hitting and say they work just fine. I use classic and they're great for me.

Give me some very specific slider numbers on stealing, guys... I want to leave the baserunning speed alone, so it will come down to catcher throwing.

both user and cpu numbers would help. Let me review the other slider creators as maybe we'll see a common denominator.

Also, would someone be willing to do me a favor.

Change these two USER batting values:

                            - user contact: 35
                            - user power: 50

I know the original post says "final" sliders, but "final" is a relative term. thanks a bunch...you guys are making these numbers bear out...i've only got my name on them. so my appreciation to all of you!

didn't play tonight...lighting game was too disheartening.

Researched the numbers regarding steals, and here's what I found:

BigFnJoe (bfj) uses 30 base running speed.
Me (mk), Blazzen (blz), Holy Grail (hg) and El Guapo (eg) use 35 base running speed.

                              USER:
Catcher Arm Strength: 60 (mk), 55 (eg), 25 (hg), 50 (blz), 65 (bfj)
Catcher Arm Accuracy: 50 (mk), 45 (eg), 35 (hg), 50 (blz), 45 (bfj)

                              CPU:
                              Steal Aggression: 75 (mk), 55 (eg), 80 (hg), 50 (blz), 65 (bfj)
Catcher Arm Strength: 50 (mk), 30 (eg), 30 (hg), 40 (blz), 55 (bfj)
Catcher Arm Accuracy: 40 (mk) 65 (eg), 35 (hg), 40 (blz), 45 (bfj)

After reviewing these you can see that we're all across the board. I was hoping for more unified numbers, but that's not the case.

I'm leaning toward Blazzen's numbers with the exception of steal aggression as I'm seeing guys (post patch) trying to steal who shouldn't (I threw out Aubrey Huff by a mile the other night). So I'm considering dropping that down to 65 as I still want guys to steal.

But here's Blazzen's quote from another thread: "I use 50/50 user catcher settings and 35 base runner speed - seems to work well for me. Gotta remember even the BEST catchers only throw out 40% of runners (Yadier Molina). Most are in the 25-30% range."

This is MLB factual data, and I think I'm going to run with his numbers (with the one exception noted two paragraphs above). Let me know what you guys think. thanks!

                                page 1 - post 1 updated - Saturday, May 28th (10:25 am).

                                Note the steal/catcher changes.

Also, I'm experimenting with user batting contact at 35 and user batting power at 50.

Right now those numbers are 30 and 55. Based upon what El Guapo shared in his thread (he uses 45 power and has hit homers), these sliders might be worth a look.
