Let's keep this post going my friends, these sliders are the bomb for us classic hitters, I plan on posting some results and stats also, see how our seasons match up. I play every other game in mine with braves.

I got a game in late last night. Today's Royals (cpu) at Baltimore (me) matchup. Hochever vs. Arrieta. I lost 5-1. I had the bases loaded twice with two outs...NOTHING. I had 2nd and 3rd with one out...NOTHING.

But losing never felt so much fun...

After a few more games might want to change a few things. First thing is user pitch accuracy. It feels pointless to even aim a pitch because it's not going to land anywhere close to the strike zone. I pitched with De la Rosa and just left the pitch marker centered and every pitch went off in different directions...never once went down the middle.

Also, errors might need to be tuned. I can generally stay error-less because im used to the throw meter but the CPU is guaranteed an error in every game.

        Just some thoughts...

I would suggest that you tweak to fit your needs. you've already noted here that these sliders most likely are not for you, and your findings seem to throw off the bell-curve. So I'm not going to make changes based upon your findings because I really don't think this set is for you.

All YOU need to do is 1) raise your user pitch control slider (35 perhaps) and slightly lower cpu throwing errors.

Regarding pitching: let me caution you that most pitchers do NOT consistently hit their spots. Not every pitcher is a Greg Maddux who could hit every spot they throw to. You do know that the meter allows you to slow your pitch speeds by not going full power, and that if you stay inside the circle or go outside of it then you can actually move a pitch based upon that. I find I can control my pitches quite well. But a large part of it is the usage of the circle and I find this to be a VERY fun part of the game. After all, would you want to hit your spots all the time with your 4th or 5th starter? Not realistic...

Now, your error finding may be correct. I think that might need a 5 point change and I'll play another game or two before making that change.

          Thanks for your thoughts...

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K11 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching

I'm going to try 30 tonight for control. I'm seeing a lot of strikeouts lately regardless of what I use for control.

I use catcher suggestion, which I don't think you do if I recall correctly. I regularly have 7+ K's after 6 innings with the Phillies. Could be that it is realistic and I'm just not used to striking out that many guys.

Running aggression may need lowered by 5 due to Ben Fransisco going trying to stretch a double on a hit to shallow left.

I think that's all I've got. I like these sliders and think they are almost perfect.

I use basically these exact sliders but with Pitch control at 30 along with Classic Pitching and Total control hitting, they work the same for those settings also, just an all around great slider set

It's now really the final question remaining before officially calling these a "final" set... I don't know if setting this at 80 for the cpu jacks them up too much.

Could some of you guys test this...

AND here's the KEY: guys should NOT be tagging up from 1B on a fly ball to right field or even right center to go to 2B.

I think 75 is good, but want to be sure. thanks!
I think 75 is too high. I dropped it down to 60 mid way through a game against the Brewers when I saw two bad things. With 1 out, runners on 1st and 2nd, a fly ball to CF (just a tick towards Right-Center, and even to a little shallower than the CFer was playing) both runners tagged. I threw to the cutoff man, then tried to get the guy at 2nd (would've just thrown to 2nd, but him going caught me off guard). The guy now on 3rd took off for home. Had I noticed it, he would've been way out. On another play, on a base hit to the gap, I cut it off with my CF'er, but instead of stopping at 2nd, the runner kept going and was out by a country mile at 3rd.

As far as pitch control, I too have some trouble with it at 25, and 15 seems insane to me. I just had a game where I walked 8 batters and hit 2 more. I think I had 53% strikes. And that was with Jair Jurrjens, who isn't exactly a scrub. I'm bumping it back up to 30 personally.

I just had a game with 35 pitch control and I won it 2-1 in the bottom of the 14th with a walk-off homer by Aaron Hill.

I think 30-35 is right for control. Seems to have cut the strikeouts down. I wouldn't think any higher than 35 would be necessary, but I'll play around and see.

60 seems to be right for base running IMO.

Okay, guys... THREE updates (Tuesday, 5-24, 8:10 pm), and I think this may be close to a "final" set:

                        - changed user pitch control (bumped up to 30 from 25).
                        - changed two cpu fielding sliders (lowered by 5 to cut down on cpu errors. in the last 4 games I've played the cpu has committed errors in each of them, one from a 2B who was VERY close to the 1B and that should not have happened as the runner wasn't very fast). we'll see how these two fielding changes play out.

Again, my many thanks for all your testing and feedback!

just need to chime in and say i absolutley love these sliders! i am actually using classic all the way around and am having great games! i tried the total control pitching, but i am horrible with the pitch gestures... like embarassingly bad!

                          thanks for the work!

This pretty much addressed my concerns. We'll see if i can actually hit my spots now at 30 and i was getting the same dumb errors form 2nd base you were so hopefully lowering errors helps.
